Absolutely shocking service. Bought a car from Škoda Birmingham dealership and the staff including the manager have evidenced a level of incompetence which is ridiculous. Was Granted a 2 year warranty package with my car and promised I’d be sent out the paperwork to confirm this. When I booked car in for service 3 months later the same manager who granted the 2 years warranty is now saying this didn’t happen and there is no record of it. There is no record because you have not record kept and done your job. After many weeks of chasing to listen to phone records the same manager finally agreed actually yes it was granted. No apologies, no accountability. Will not be using Škoda again and will also advise friends and family to steer clear. Will also be escalating this matter to their head office. The poor reviews and low rating of Škoda is if no surprise now after my personal experience.
I bought a car in September 2024 with 18 miles on the clock from the Skoda dealership, Marshall's in Harlow, and was told that all necessary documentation was in the glove box. Foolishly I did not check and basic information (Warranty, Roadside Assistance, Service Schedule) was not there. This didn't concern me as it is basic information that should be easy to obtain. After 3 weeks and endless emails and 'phone calls I still don't have it.I have been told that I cannot have a copy of the Service Schedule even though the Warranty (I finally got a 7 year old document that I am told covers it) requires that the vehicle is maintained in line with the manufacturer's requirements. I am told that there is no Service Record Booklet even though the Warranty states that I must show this to prove that I have properly maintained the vehicle.I was told that if I have the vehicle serviced by anyone other than a Skoda dealership the Warranty will be invalidated even though this is contrary to UK law! This point has now been conceded as long as I follow the manufacturer's "guidelines " which they refuse to provide! The Warranty document that I have states that I must have a document called " Confirmation of Cover" in order to use the Warranty and Roadside Assistance. I have asked several times for this and no one seems to know what it is.I keep being told by Skoda UK that it is the dealers responsibility and vice versa.I have been told that I cannot have a copy of the Complaints Procedure! Have you ever heard of anything so absurd. I was told that my complaint had reached the highest level and then, after I contacted Head Office, I was contacted by someone from the Executive Office. My first and last Skoda!
Just finished a 4 year lease on a Skoda Octavia and my advice is to avoid them at all costs. Had multiple issues with the car back and forward to Mervyn Stewart Belfast. Loss of power the emergency call kept going off dialling 999. Customer service was ridiculous Skoda always made you feel that you were the problem, when I complained about my service they wrote the complaint off as the person I complained about said I left happy. I finally got rid of the vehicle after 4 year lease only to have them try and bill me for minor scrapes that I considered fair wear and tear after 4 years and 66000 miles. They also charged me for rust on paintwork. Whole experience over 4 years has left me with a sour taste for Skoda having been driving for over 20 years and used multiple car dealers this has been the worst experience of all those driving years from the dealership to the company they do not care about the customer
Ongoing issue with known fault, acknowledged by Skoda Johnson Birmingham and Skoda UK as a known fault, now making our 5 year kodiaq unusable due to the premature failure of the gearbox.2 years of discussion with Johnson Birmingham and 1 year with Skoda UK has lead no where other than Johnson offering to buy back the vehicle at a vastly reduced value.Employees of both Johnson and Skoda have confirmed this is far below the expected level of service and such a pity as this is our third but now final Skoda.Plenty of opportunity for them to make this right or offer any level of support but consistently stated that they would help if they could but that they can’t unless both parties agree - neither will agree without the other one confirming first. This adds to the miss-selling when we purchased the vehicle and Johnson Birmingham deliberately miscalculated the road tax confirming it was in the lower categories when we paid for the vehicle and then informing it they’d made a mistake when we collected it and it was actually in one of the highest brackets due to the list price. So disappointing
Turbo failed on my 5 year old skoda kodiaq vrs. Bought from dealer as used approved at 2 years old. All maintenance was carried out as per service schedule. Response from skoda was "it's a wear and tear component which can fail" All of my previous cars have been older and higher mileage and never had a turbo fail. Definitely not impressed with the reliability as every time I have it serviced it seems to need something. Now it's a turbo at a cost of £2.5k.
Popped into Skoda in Nottingham as a warning light illuminated about the airbag. They dealt with it on the spot without any prior notice and fixed my car within a couple of hours. They were fantastic as they understood I had an important journey to do! Always friendly service when I go in and couldn’t do enough. Will keep returning due to the high level of customer service!
