We bought a used Skoda from Johnsons Skoda Stourbridge. The car was meant to come MOT'd and with mats but didn't. I complained and was to to get it the MOT done locally and but the mats and I would be reimbursed. I did so and sent them the invoices. This was 9 months ago and I've still to get the cash despite lots of follow up. Terrible service.
I have a 2018 Skoda Karoq SE L. It has less than 10,000 miles on the clock. It is kept in the garage when not in use and is regularly cleaned and serviced. In fact the car has been pretty pampered during its lifetime. However, the clear coat is starting to peel off from some parts of the bonnet and the left hand side bumper panel. I find this unbelieveable in a car this old. Our last car we owned for 17 years and not a mark on the paintwork. I would definitely be wary of buying a Skoda in the future.
If I could give Skoda customer service a zero I would. Like so many other reviews on this site regarding a repair, they pass you around from call handler to retailer to escalation team, back to retailer then still fail to have an answer. I was promised an escalation on parts after 1 week (probably to keep me happy) but then an week later escalation manager said that wouldn't be the case, what in the name of God are they playing at?? My car has currently sat with the retailer for two weeks with a fault and the escalation manager has no idea what is wrong until she speaks to the retailer but her list is so long she cannot make contact with them for another 4 days nor can it be escalated to anyone else. I will not be buying another Skoda because of this - even if it was free!! Never before have I met such a level of incompetence or ignorance to the fact they are playing with peoples emotions just because they don't see it as a priority. Abysmal service and avoid them at all costs if possible.
Contacted Skoda with a question regarding towing capability of a car I was thinking of buying. Filled in their online form and heard nothing back. Two days later used their chat line - customer service rep tried to get through to Technical team without success. Received an email later saying I would receive an answer within 48 hours. Still waiting after 2 weeks! Just don't bother with this mark there are other far more customer focused companies out there.I first posted this on 7/12/23 after no response for a week. Surprise surprise today 8/12 I received a call from Skoda Customer service. The agent I spoke to last week had escalated the problem to management - they then escalated it ....... back to the agent with instructions to say the technical team didn't have sufficient information to respond. Having provided them with the VIN of the car, the gross vehicle weight, the gross train weight and MTPLM of the caravan I'm at a loss to understand what additional information they require. Perhaps my own weight and date of birth. I'm beginning to suspect that the technical team is a figment of imagination invented because other more reputable car companies have one.
Avoid. Bought a approved Škoda at Simpsons Škoda. Sent it in with faults told it had none and it was normal for the car. Took to a independent garage who found the fault ( Škoda now claim it happened within a few days we all know that’s not the truth ) of them examining it. It’s got lots of faults yet Škoda uk would not meditate waiting on legal advice next. It now needs a service ( not part of the EV service schedule ) when in for warranty work by mistake they tried to charge for work that didn’t need doing !
Car went in for service and warranty issue regarding lock on the rear door, 16 Nov 23. Gihan stated he would contact me in two weeks re warranty submission, no call, I have now chased up the warranty issue on the 4th Dec, 11th Dec, 13th Dec, 19th Dec. Contacting the following:customerloyaltyteam(at)citygate.xx.xxreviews(at)citygate.xx.xxcustomerservices(at)skoda.xx.xxcustomerservices(at)skoda-extendedwarranty.xx.xxGihan.deCosta(at)citygate.xx.xxCRManagementTeam(at)citygate.xx.xxTo date no response to the warranty submission. Should be an easy one to resolve yet CityGate West choose to ignore the request or as others have said simply do not want to do warranty work.
Avoid Skoda at all cost. Their customer service is virtually non existent. Been dealing with the Skoda customer services to sort my car for 2 months. Rude and ignorant staffs. They don't want customers to contact them and coming up with all the excuses. Appalling customer service. Would give 0 rating if available. Would not recommend Skoda to my friends & family circle
Experienced no heat in the cabin. Went to approved local Skoda approved garage for assessment. Assessment results: heater matrix is clogged and needs replacing. No root cause of the problem and requested payment of over £1k, as it's labor intensive task- which I understand. The suggested coolant expansion tank from the approved garage I've received was: 5Q0121407M, which doesn't contain silica bag anymore. What a surprise! As the root cause has not been identified, I have decided to go to third-party independent garage, they've identified silica bag damage in my expansion tank, which has resulted in clogging the cooling system (and heater matrix) with the silica particles. The coolant fluid wasn't able to flow through the matrix and successively, no heat went through to the cabin.Third-party garage managed to remove the bag from the coolant tank, flush the system with additio of pneumatic air, clean the whole system with coolant system flush chemical, change the tank for a new model, drain and replenish the coolant fluid. ~£250.Knowing that this is a manufacturer fault should encourage the VAG group to recall those vehicles before they get clogged and force the owners to spend money to flush the system and replace the part. The suggested coolant expansion tank from the approved garage I've received was: 5Q0121407M, which doesn't contain silica bag anymore. What a surprise! The evidence for design change in newer vehicles is clear for me, as the newer cars, even post 2015+ don't have silica bags in them. Please check this online; I am also not alone, as it appears this is a common issue for many owners!I have sent official complaint to Skoda to look into this matter and I have been told that I have used third-party garage to confirm this findings. If I will allow approved garage to do the full process, this will be a different matter and the query will then be added to the recall system. The problem is... That the approved garage did not managed go conduct full and robust corrective actions and advised to change the heater matrix part.. I trust this might be the case with most of the people.Financial compensation has not been issued. To the community: please be aware for this issue and check your vehicles for silica bag. Remove it asap and follow by routine coolant fluid change at required intervals. The main argument for the silica bag to be in the tank is to keep the solution silica content sufficient enough in the system overtime, as the fluid degrades.Probably the best way will be to change the fluid periodically and I would like to see VW vehicles doing something about this matter for the people that currently have vehicles with silica bag.
I had a Skoda Octavia which I used as a taxi. It developed an eroded fuel tank which caused shavings to go to other parts of the engine. The car was less than 5 years old and had to be written off. Skoda service department weren't interested in helping me as the car wasn't serviced by a Skoda dealer. It affected me financially and healthwise because Skoda had fitted faulty parts to my car and through no fault on my part it came to light.I've had 4 Skodas but would never consider having another one
