Skoda Karoq Brake Concerns.

My negative experience began when I asked for a quote for a basic second-year service and was instead ‘steered’ into purchasing a two-year service plan. Pulman Skoda informed me my only options were to buy the plan or pay well over double the £200 I had paid for my first-year service, which I felt was a questionable way to do business.During the service, I was contacted and informed that the rear brakes had rapidly deteriorated, showing 80% wear compared to just 10% recorded at the first-year service point. This was despite similar incurred mileage and time between services, with no change in driving style or journey types. Notably, the front brakes showed only minor wear. I was quoted £445 for the rear brake work, plus an additional £234 for a brake fluid change and a Haldex oil change. Mind blowing prices!Feeling suspicious, I did not authorise the work and contacted the dealership (Pulman Durham) to express my concern that no investigation had been carried out into the unusual and accelerated deterioration. I was disappointed that the only response had been to recommend further chargeable work. I was subsequently told the wear could be due to driving style or corrosion from the vehicle being parked, neither of which applied in my case. This is further supported by the fact that the front brakes showed no unusual wear or corrosion.I was then informed that this issue has been seen before on Skoda Karoq and Kamiq models and was advised to contact Skoda UK, as they had previously contributed towards the cost for other customers. Skoda UK responded, basically suggesting that excessive rear brake wear compared to minor on the front is not unusual, and they did not dispute Pulman’s comments that Karoqs and Kamiqs can be affected by this issue. They also stated that brake discs and pads are excluded from warranty cover as wear items, which did not recognise my actual concern. My concern is not that brakes wear over time, but that the level of rear brake wear in year two was both highly accelerated and inconsistent with their condition at the end of year one, as well as with the front brakes over the same period, which remain in good condition. This raises questions about whether the components are fit for purpose. Unfortunately, neither Skoda nor Pulman Durham appear willing to acknowledge or properly address this concern.Prospective buyers and owners of Skoda Karoq and Kamiq models should be aware of this expensive and concerning issue.

I am astounded by the service and generosity I have received from Skoda UK. I reported an issue with my car key to my local Skoda dealer who in fairness were rude and unhelpful. I felt I had no alternative but to speak to Skoda UK. A long storey short, they provided me with a replacement key free of charge which the dealer coded to my car. Customer service rang me a few days later to confirm that everything was resolved. I confirmed it was, at which point I thought that was that. My 4 month old grandson was visiting that day, he was being a little vocal at the time. The lady I was speaking to asked me who it was, I told her. She then said she would send me a gift as an apology for my patience and understanding . She would also include a small give for my grandson.I would just like to thank Skoda uk for there help in resolving my issue and thank them for there very kind gift. It was not necessary but greatly appreciated. Thanks again

We made an appointment to test drive an Elroq in Chesterfield and were made very welcome by a member of staff, Courtney Pancs. Very professional, knowledgeable and extremely pleasant and friendly. We loved the car and we were very happy to buy it. The process was very smooth and Courtney Panks was excellent. The whole process was very relaxed.

Great experience

I had a great experience at the Škoda dealership, thanks to Lee. He was really helpful throughout the whole process, took the time to answer all my questions, and made everything straightforward and stress-free. His knowledge and friendly approach made a big difference. I would definitely recommend Winners dealership (in the Forest of Dean) to anyone looking to buy a Škoda.

Be very careful when buying from this dealership

Be very careful when buying from this dealership. My vehicle developed a major fault within six months of purchase and became undriveable. Instead of supporting me under the Consumer Rights Act, the dealership tried to shift responsibility onto me, demanded I arrange recovery, and suggested I may have caused the issue without any inspection or evidence. This experience has left me without a vehicle and forced me to consider legal action. Extremely disappointing customer service.

Abysmal customer service

Well what can I say. Got a new car last year, finance. I developed a fault. Emergency SOS, issue which plays havoc with my sat nav and Android auto. The problem isn't the fault, these things happen. But the problem is I work full time, I also work away. While this may be a unique problem to skoda, it doesnt allow me to get my fault rectified on a Saturday anywhere at a skoda garage. I've been onto skoda themselves, may aswell be talking to myself. Im not alone in this situation im pretty sure of that. If you buy a skoda, warranty work will only get done during the week. If you work, then you're knackered. I asked when I got the car, does the garage open during Saturday, oh yes oh yes. Ofcourse they will say anything for a sale, they didn't state you cant get in for weekend warranty work. I will say, I firstly developed this fault early October and I am being forced to live with it. Skoda auto wont bother to come out for such a defect either.

Petty cost cutting on £40k Superb.

Petty cost cutting on £40k Superb.I just has a Skoda Superb L and part exchanged my previous model. I'm annoyed that the door pockets and centre storage have basic hard plastic linings. (Only on half of the door pockets but all the centre) Everything inside rattles. My OLD model had felt lined sides. It's been driving me mad, plus no minor storage draw on the drivers side and no sun glasses holder on the ceiling. I can't believe these really important things have been omitted to save a few pence.

Please do not buy this car if you have a pregnant wife or a newborn

We have a Škoda Kodiaq Plug in Hybrid 2025. We bought it because we have a newborn baby. I wanted a safe and easy family car.But honest truth. This car is not suited to families, pregnant women, and babies. Not because of the seats or space. Because of the software. Actually the biggest problem is the software. The car often will not let you reverse if there are cars nearby, or if a person is walking around. In real life this is a nightmare. If you are in traffic and you need to reverse a little, you can forget it. The car stops every centimetre. You press, it moves, it stops. Again and again. You can spend minutes just trying to reverse a small distance. It feels like the car is fighting you. Please do not buy this car if you have a pregnant wife or a newborn. Personal recommendation. My wife was pregnant at the time. We were standing at a traffic light. A lorry was driving fast in the next lane. Our car decided it might crash into us. It did the “crash prepare” thing and the seat belts pulled so hard that I honestly thought we would need to go to hospital. It was shocking. It did not feel safe. It felt violent. And the last thing is BRAKING. I don't even know ho to explain this, but when you're driving and tryign to brake a bit, it will hit the brakes. just like that. no comments.

Poor customer service, prefer a quick buck!

Pretty poor Customer Service. Marshall ŠKODA, Reading. I reserved a ŠKODA through the website on the Wednesday, paying the £99 refundable fee which gives me 5 days to view and decide to buy. I viewed it on the Friday and after discussing with the agent it was agreed I’d have the evening and possibly the weekend to think about it as I was gettting a quote for another vehicle. However, within 30 minutes of leaving the dealership, I received a voicemail from the agent stating that the vehicle was being put back up for sale online by their manager, despite my reservation but I could still decide to put an offer in.After careful consideration, I decided on the following day (Saturday) to proceed with the purchase, only to be informed that the vehicle had already been sold within the group. What’s the point in reserving a car going through the whole process to be let down? What a waste of time that was. Prefer making a quick buck over customer service, cheers ŠKODA.
