Incorrect Varifocal Glasses

*I suffered for 3 years due to incorrect varifocal glasses*I purchased an expensive pair of varifocal glasses from this optician around 3 years ago. From the beginning, I struggled with blurred vision and discomfort, especially at work — but I was told it just needed time to adjust. After years of ongoing issues, I finally sought a second opinion from another optician, who confirmed the *measurements were wrong from the start*.I’m very disappointed that such an error occurred and wasn’t picked up, especially considering the cost. It affected my daily life and work for years.I would advise others to double-check fittings elsewhere if you're experiencing problems — don't assume it's just your eyes adjusting.

Wrong lenses…

Optician put down that needed single vision lenses when needed varifocals, so when collecting glasses, distance was great but could not read anything and had to return them. Collected again 1 week later and bit better but still not right. Will have to return them again!!!

Rude customer service that didn’t take my glasses to fix although they said very clear that there is 2 full years of warranty on the glasses - no questions asked!

Clowns

If I could vote zero stars then that would be too generous. These clowns don’t know what they’re doing. If you enjoy being without any glasses for months and months, then use these guys. Coupled with the worst customer service and it puts them up with south western trains as the worst company in the UK (albeit for tax reasons Specsavers are based offshore I believe). Like I said, clowns. Special shout out to the Epsom, Surrey branch. Cheers!

Sadly a really bad experience

I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding my recent experience at your Taunton store. From the outset, the experience was poor. On arrival, I was left unsure if I had even been acknowledged by staff. There was no warm welcome and I felt overlooked and forgotten about, despite waiting for a considerable length of time. The store itself felt overcrowded, with too many people in too small a space and staff appearing disengaged or inexperienced. When I was finally seen, I felt as though I was being sold to rather than supported. The process lacked clarity and left me uncertain whether the recommendations were the right ones for my needs – yet it was difficult to question or challenge. The lack of flexibility in your “buy one, get one free” offer meant I ended up with two identical pairs simply to conclude the transaction and leave, which felt both frustrating and wasteful. To add to this, the cost was high – £280 for “special” computer work glasses – and yet the service received did not reflect such an expense. Overall, the entire experience felt transactional and perfunctory, underpinned by an attitude that “this is the NHS so you can take it or leave it”. However, Specsavers is not the NHS. You are a business trading on a trusted national brand, and with that comes the responsibility to deliver professional service, genuine care and customer respect.Sadly, my experience in Taunton fell far short of that. I left feeling dissatisfied, out of pocket, and determined not to return. I will be taking my custom elsewhere in future.I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address the issues of customer service, staff engagement, and overall experience within your store.

Five stars for Hannah at the Nottingham…

Five stars for Hannah at the Nottingham Wheelergate branch. She was super patient whilst being helpful and polite while a grumpy dad helped his son choose frames. I’m unsure if the assistants here are paid commission or a bonus based on sales. If so I’ll be very disappointed as we were dealt with brilliantly by Hannah only to be passed to a colleague to process the sale when we returned. If this is the case please ensure Hannah’s service is suitably acknowledged. Thanks

Rude

Went into Walthamstow Specsavers today to collect my contact lenses please tell me why when I went into store the supervisor is looking at me like I should t be looking at her she was standing there chatting with her colleague and as I walked into the store, I can see that the lady at the front was busy and then she’s telling me to go back to the front and talk to the lady so that she can get my contact lenses, but the look that she gave me was not needed I found that rude when she could’ve served me she wasn’t doing nothing apart from standing there having a conversation about what they was up to last night not on worse Soecsavers I only go there cause I have to the men in that store are fine but the women who says she’s a supervisor I wouldn’t wanna work there because she had some off energy
