Review Time
I recently purchased my Toyota vehicle from the Steven Eagell branch in Tamworth.I was originally going to buy a used car from any local garage just for an easy life.I eventually came across this branch and decided to go in store to have a look around. The lady at the front desk was incredibly friendly.I had picked a car from the website and asked whether it be possible to have it brought in so I could have a look at it in person. My sales executive Amy went and collected it on the day and sent me a personal video showing me the car.I honestly thought that buying a car would be time consuming. But Amy made it all incredibly easy. I couldn't thank her enough.I had the manager come down after my purchase to have a chat and thank me for coming to the branch.I have decided to write this review after just having a quick call from Amy asking how I was enjoying the car. I have never been anywhere with such good customer service.I can highly recommend.Thank you Amy !:)
Wow. Toyota UK please look at these reviews. They all say the same thing regardless the location of the dealership. These people should never be allowed to handle your vehicles. Toyota make great cars and I bought one in 2023 from Steven Eagell in Cambridge. Every single interaction I had with them, from purchase to service to later changing the car, was nothing but a TOTAL nightmare. Another review says they're like some sort of throwback to 1980's style wide boy's operation and that is exactly what they are. I won't go in to the details of each of these interactions but suffice to say if it concerns sales it involves every sly trick in the book to not let you leave the showroom until you've signed on the line. If it involves service you are going to be lowest priority (service team left the premises at 5.30pm without informing the sales team - who are on site until 7.30pm - of cars still to be collected so couldn't collect my car). If it involves even a hint that you might change cars to another Toyota all the tricks are back out again. Suffice to say I was so completely fed up I did change cars to a different brand just to get away from them. Toyota's themselves are brilliant, often British made cars and I had no reason to change except to escape these people. I repeat, TOYOTA, GET RID OF THEM.
Popped into the Colchester branch as was interested in a car they had for sale. I made a deposit of £99 for it. Payment was made via a sales rep on friday 31st Jan. On Saturday 1st Feb I emailed him to say i was no longer interested and asked for the funds to be returned. I followed this up on the 10th Feb when i didnt received the money back. I called up the branch and spoke to rep who said the money had been requested on Wed 5th so that the funds should appear no later than 19th Feb. Its now 24th Feb , and still no money back. Update- responded to the below and funds were received.
Had a wonderful experience with the Ashford Kent site.Went in to get a second hand CH-R and sales agent Amy was great at handling my questions and making sure that I was 100% with my choice of car. So a big thank you to her for sorting that out, even though I couldn’t make my mind up for a while between a blue hybrid automatic and a silver manual petrol. Also thank you to manger Scott for facilitating my ability to choose and to very friendly Danny for helping me come to a decision on which one on my second visit.Great site, made a customer for life :) C
1 star is too high. Had MOT at Cambridge Toyota. Sent visual inspection report stating 2 items needing immediate attention( in red). 1 item I approved. The 2nd item was aircon decontamination. In my opinion this is not something that needs immediate attention (red) but an advisory. I declined this item as I thought I had this done recently and wanted to wait a bit as did not have a problem with the aircon (no smells, dust etc). When I collected the car I had to ask when the aircon had been done. In June 2024 I had the same treatment for £202 which they were stating needing doing immediately. Luckily just saved £180 for something that had been done 6 months ok with no evidence of aircon problems. I was told that mechanics don’t see the car history. I would never trust this garage again.
Back in October 2024, I booked Steven Eagell Watford to collect, service and return my car to home. Whilst the service went smoothly, unfortunately the car had minor damage whilst being driven home by a Steven Eagell employee. Repairs to the car took a month to arrange because of non-returned calls and the replacement part being fitted on another car apparently by mistake. I complained about the exceptionally poor service at the time and was offered compensation. Another broken promise - the compensation has not been received. A disgraceful and lackadaisical attitude towards customers. The car is great, shame about the company service systems. This feedback has been sent to the feedback email at Steven Eagell so please don't ask me to do this again. If you do so, I will assume your replies are automated rather than read.
TAXI DRIVERS BEWARE.I'd never been to steven eagell toyota before but apparently they are a great company for taxi drivers so I thought why not give it a go 19/1/2025A young lady asked if I needed any help and then sat me down to ask the usual questions, I told her I was a taxi driver straight away and she said she had sold to a few taxi drivers in our area so I was pretty hopefull she could help me.The young lady asked if I have a part ex etc etc so I said yes my taxi was outside. She then went to her floor manager and came back to tell me she was going to do an appraisal on my car and she wouldn't be long. While she was checking my car out I was getting my settlement figure for my current car, (top of the range) vauxhall insignia with low mileage considering what I use it for.She then came back after talking to her floor manager for the third time and told me she couldn't take my car as part ex because they couldn't sell it at auction because it's been used as a taxi.Firstly it's as clean as anything with relatively low mileage, secondly how would an auction buyer know it was a taxi anyway, and lastly you'll happily sell multiple cars to taxi drivers but you wouldn't take them back after a few years as part ex for a newer car? That im afraid is the opposite to helping taxi drivers out and I'm going to make sure taxi drivers steer well clear of your so called reputable dealership. Multiple customers walking through the door but not enough staff to deal with them as well.I literally felt like you were fobbing me off to get me out of the door with a BS story but if it wasn't B.S then that's a pretty shoddy way to run a dealership considering I used to be a car salesman working for a larger dealership than yours and the last dealership (toomey) I used took my old taxi as part ex no problem.I'll get my toyota somewhere else thank you very much.Nice automated response, I'll save myself the time and effort thanks 👍
Horrendous after sales service from Colchester Toyota,Bought a 2021 GR Yaris with 86 miles on it in January 2025 and had to put 4 new tyres on it because they all had irreversible flat spots in them, the tyres were rock hard because the car had sat in one position in a warehouse for 3.5 years, the car was actually dangerous to drive in winter weather sliding all over the place and the traction control light virtually on all the time, there was a bad vibration through the steering and body of the car, even though it had supposedly had a service done at 86 miles. I took it on my self to replace 4 tyres on the vehicle after speaking to a few local garages and thankfully the car drives the way it should now.I tried to explain this to the sales manager at Colchester Toyota but he said the car was fine when it left there.Unfortunately I didn’t bring the car up to Scotland it was my wife that picked it up she drove the 450 miles, let’s say she wasn’t over the moon at driving it with such a vibration, she actually thought because she hadn’t driven one before that that was just the way it was. What I can’t understand is that if this car was driven by a salesmen or a qualified mechanic who work on or sell these cars day on day why it was not picked up?I sent several e-mails to Jamie and Ben with no reply at first, only after several communications with Toyota customer service did I get a reply from them and they would only phone so there was no record of it.I eventually got a return e-mail from Ben Grogan the sales manager to say he would not give me a refund for the tyres as the car was fine when it had left the garage, I said to him why would I swap 4 Michelin pilot-sport 4s tyres that have only done 600 miles for no reason, after a few more e-mails he said the only way I could get a second opinion on the tyres was to bring them down to him for his qualified technicians to check them, of course he new I was not going to drive 450 miles down there that was his get out clause. It’s just a pity I hadn't picked the car up myself or I would have driven it strait back to the garage and got my money back, once they have your money they don't care about youThey have sent a generic reply to this review so they look as though they want to help you, I can assure you this is not the case. Can't believe even toyota uk are not interested in helping Toyota customers.I thought this crowd was bad until I read Toyota uk reviews on trust pilot
