Review Time
Having taken delivery of a new car 31/05/23, I have still NOT had a handover, an explanation of controls or the correct hand book to try and muddle my way through on my own.I had been promised a new one would be posted to me by the sales manager but this has still not arrived. I called the sales controller and explained I had'nt recieved one yet. I was then given a load of flannel/sale BS that "Since Covid Toyota don't supply hard copies it's a download only". Well it's funny that I have bought 2 new Toyota cars since Covid and both have had hard copies.The one star reviews will contine until all outstanding isses have been completed to my satisfaction.And by the way, no one from head office has contacted me despite the rather nice corporate response suggesting this will be the process.
Steven Eagell Letchworth.If you buy a car from them and you have one to sell which they need to pay off the finance from don’t even bother as it’s been 5 weeks now and they still haven’t paid it off. If I was you I would buy a car from somewhere else and avoid the stress.
I ordered a Toyota yards in November 2022, on motability fro Steven Eagell, Gallows Corner, and made the mistake of paying the money to upgrade the spec upfront. It should have been ready by the following March. It wasn't, they kept saying it will be ready next month,when in reality they didn't have a clue and when a car from a different dealer became available for immediate delivery became available in the June(4 months after my Yaris was supposed to have been delivered), I took the chance on that car ,as because of my disabilities it was becoming increasingly difficult to use public transport. When I cancelled my order at Steven Eagell they refused to refund the £742 advance I had paid, calling it a deposit. I contacted Motability, there is no deposit on motability vehicles, and I was entitled to my money back, but they didn't have the power to enforce that . I spoke to several managers at Steven Eagell, but everyone of them was,dismissive and rude. I even contacted Toyota, and encountered the same attitude. Basically they all think it is acceptable to steal customers money. I will never consider Toyota again, as I am entitled to a new car every 3 years that is several sales they have lost , not counting any disabled people I know.
I took delivery of a new CH-R in late February, my third purchase from SEM in MK. I was given only one key, with a promise of the second within a month. I have chased up twice but almost four months after delivery still no key and though I did receive a phone call from the young man he was poorly trained and did not follow through as he promised. After sales is appalling.
I bought a brand new Yaris from Cambridge Steven Eagell. The salesman agreed to give me a gift as a thank you for purchasing the car from them. So when I collected the car from them, it said the gift hasn’t arrive yet, so I have waited for few months. After few month, the salesman who sell the car to me has left the business. No one know what the salesman agreed. So I have contact the dealer for number of time, the answer alway is someone / manger will get back to me. Guess what ‘Never’. So at the end I need to pop in the dealership, another salesman kindly looking into it for me, and said will update me once it arrive. But it been more than a month now, still no news!! I sent him 2 separate email, no reply. Poor customer after sale service.
I bought a brand new car in Feb 23 (£250.00 deposit) and sales agent told me that it will be available in some time in May.When I come beck to dealer to ask about my car delivery in 8th May then Same sales agent told me that its not been ordered by system and its not gonna be available until July. In between March to May I keep contacting him about not receiving purchase invoices or any documents about the purchase but he keep telling me that its been ordered and new system don't send any documents to owner until its arrived. So finally I fed up with his lies and cancelled my order and requested refund so he took unnecessary 2hours to cancelled the order and telling me that I will get my refund within a week.But again when I didnt received my refund after 10 days then visit him again. That time he told me that it will take 10 working days which is also lies.So finally after one three weeks when I come to see him for refund then he is not coming out of his office to answer my query. Oh another update, He finally come out saying its not his working day but he is here on his off day. All this happens when I told one of the sales agent that I am about to leave a review then he finally come out and telling me that he is going to call Account team to find out when I will get refund (which is next Wednesday 30th but today)....This time his sales manager knows so he or his manager won't be able to make an excuse about this matter when I will be beck next week.I will update you next week and let you know the outcome. Update for the payment. Today is 5th June and still no sign of payment. We'll done Toyota.So if you have unnecessary time to deal with this kind of service then feel free to visit them otherwise stay away.
We visited the Rayleigh branch and had a pleasant experience. We chose a car to purchase and thought that we had done a deal, our part ex and £8k cash. We left it 24 hours and had a test drive and agreed to purchase the car at which point the salesman told us that the car was now 25% (£4000) more expensive. He then tried to talk us into taking to take finance. When we refused he denied the offer of the previous day had been made. What infuriated us even more was that by chance we were looking at the website and found that the car was now over £1000 cheaper. When we brought this to the attention of the salesman he told us that it was a sale price that 'mustve started early'. He then again tried us to take finance and we refused. He offered us a different car 3 years older, different shape and different engine. At this point we politely said no and left.
