I joined the programme one year ago and I can honestly say it has changed me for the better.I have been dieting since I was 18 on any possible one and my metabolism was so so low. Also I was doing no exercise part from walking my dog. After few vet hard years looking after and than losing my partner Sean to brain tumour I was at the heaviest and unhealthiest ever. At 83 kg I decided it was time to start looking after my health as I didn’t want my son to experience anything like what I have been losing somebody so young. I lost 10kg in the first few months of the programme than I have been hit by the very traumatic death of my mother and since than have been maintaining the Waight but:1 maintaining a weight loss for such a long time is a win in itself2. I now not only do exercise but enjoy it. That has never happened before in my life and I am 58 years old already. But I haven’t felt this physically fit since I was in my twenties.TSD has helped enormously in so many ways. The reccoemnded reading changed me, Alex neilan’s lives and phone calls keep me focused and I keep learning something new everyday.I have learned to ask for help and reach out to any my coach and ask for a bit extra support I. So many different areas.I am so glad I have stumbled into sustainable change. There is so much more that has changed and I will be with the programme 4 years more and I am so happy about it.Thank your
I saw TSD, The Sports Dietician on Facebook and Alex kept talking about Sustainable Weightloss and changing lifestyle. The word Sustainable struck a cord with me, as I have tried various diets and fads over a number of years and nothing was Sustainable!! I listened to a few live sessions and said nothing, I didn't interact and the more I listened the more intrigued I became. I finally contacted the team and had a lovely introductory call and all questions or queries I had were answered. It was a very honest and straightforward approach. No frills, just really what it said on the tin!! I signed up without hesitation, I now have meal plans, workouts, a coach, psychologist on hand and live sessions with so much positive and inspiring information. Reading material on making changes to your mindset and setting goals for yourself. As a mother, wife, daughter and full time employee I was now starting to put myself and the needs of my body and mind to the fore. I'm at an age which will determine how long I will have an active retirement and if I will be able to look after my grandchildren, and not be a burden to my own children in my later years. I have a bucket list and fully intend to carry it out as best I can. In order to do this I need to be strong, not skinny, have confidence and not become overwhelmed trying to fix everyone else. I'm now in week 10, have lost 4kg, lost inches off my bust, waist legs in between, birthday parties, holidays, weekends away and not put on any more than 1 kg.. which came off the following week!! I'm mindful of what i want to eat and drink...I do not deprive myself and enjoy my gym and activities on line with classes or in my local gym. I have met so many ladies like me who are enjoying getting their life back after, raising families, looking after elderly parents and still dealing with the pressures of everyday life. Sustainable Change, as TSD is now known is giving you the tools, the information and the know how to make better choices, use your knowledge and build your new healthier life one day at a time. You have the privilege of being a member of The Inner Circle, where women just like me, share their stories, experiences, wins, celebrations and bring each other on. This has to be the best decision I have made in the past 20 years. I deserve the new me, the one who fits better into her own skin and her old clothes..hanging there waiting to be worn again. The incredible success of women who share their stories on the live sessions, who have reversed medical challenges they have faced for years is incredible!! If you have listened to any of the live sessions, or heard about Mish and her fabulous workouts...don't even give it a second thought...do it now...be the best version of you!!! You owe it to yourself...See you on the other side!!
Trust your body and your mind. Despite academic and financial success and a history of job stability I hated how my body let me down. Pain, coeliac disease, I was hardly ever heard. Mindful that my own voice lacked conviction. my achievement through Sustainable Change has certainly been losing the extra pounds. But, it’s the mental and physical toughness I have achieved that is the biggest win ever.I’ve always known I had something significant to do and say. Finally, I trust my body and mind to achieve this. I have put myself first for once, carved out my own day and set my sites. Weirdly, it has been no big deal and others, family and friends, have just slotted into place without fuss. They respect me more for how I have quietly and purposefully gone about building a schedule the facilitates exercise, quiet me time and adjusted meals. My husband has said he was utterly surprised that I have lost the weight. I have smartened up in every way and he is actually joined me in getting fitter, realising the power of health as we now start our “portfolio” working lives. No longer paid employment but volunteer work, committee positions, and hobby time. So we have both benefited. To anyone considering this as a way to lose weight absolutely: go for it-but know that Sustainable Change is so much more than this. It is a springboard to regain control and happiness in your life,I thoroughly recommend this program. Celebrate being you.
My negative self speech has gone.Since the age of eight I have been struggling with my weight. I regularly had food noises and negative self-talk. I’ve listened to so many people tell me so many different things about how to lose weight and how to improve my life. I have lacked in confidence and self-belief all my life and always questioned my reasoning with anything. My weight at its heaviest was nearly 30 stone I was fainting often, my blood sugars on all-time high at 90, I was sleeping all the time, I had right bundle branch block and had to contend with MS.With the help of Alex Neilan Sustainable Change, i’ve not only lost 14 kg since January 2025 but I have gone from a size 28 to a size 20 and have lost 44 cm around my body. My BMI has also gone down from 53 to 47 which I am proud about with Sustainable Change. I have been working with my coach Eoin, who has given me daily support, guidance on exercise and nutrition, patience, kindness, and love. Don’t get me wrong not every day is the same and sometimes it’s tough but now I have gained skills to improve my life in more ways than one I have a mindset specialist and have spoken to a counsellor, I’ve also worked with the physiotherapist and the MDT process has been positive on my physical, social and emotional well-being.I have gained confidence and ability to make my own decisions and not second-guess anything and I’m no longer hearing food voices and negative self-talk. The guilt and shame of food has been taken away and it’s only through doing this program that has helped. I no longer have Right bundle branch block. My sugars are at 41 and I am looking at food as fuel for my body rather than a need to comfort me.At the beginning, I had to weigh up what my life would be like if I didn’t try this and what it would be like if I did and for me, I chose the right direction. The reason why sustainable is the fact being I have learnt to make mistakes, put a line under them and move on and as Eoin keeps telling me it’s not a sprint it’s a marathon. If you are thinking about joining Sustainable Change, by putting you first and gaining the necessary skills and support to make changes in your life, please just do so and contact Alex or one of the team. Their team is like a hug to yourself.
I came upon Sustainable Change almost by accident. Been ill over the last year, not able to walk much consequently got flabby and put on a bit of weight. Just didn’t know what to do, nothing working. Intermittent fasting, cutting carbs all things done in the past not working. Then, saw this on IG. Neil spent a lot of time with me on and off that day. I was totally honest, a lot going on in my life. Moving house being the biggest. We reached a point where l really had to commit and l honestly said l could afford it but when l’d moved l would. Neil, having heard everything (only a little here) told me he wanted to help now and to my astonishment gave me, for free, a Metabolic Course. I can only tell you how overwhelmed l am that someone would be that kind. So here l am at the beginning of my journey thanks to Neil.Wish me luck. I’ll pop back now and then to let you know how l’m doing. Can’t wait to meet everyone on the FB Group. Just working through Fear at the moment.
Before joining Sustainable Change with Alex Neilan, I felt stuck—physically and emotionally. I was going to a great gym, staying active, and doing “all the right things,” but something was still missing. My weight was impacting my energy, confidence, and ability to lead in both my family and professional life. I was constantly putting others first and losing sight of myself. One quote that shifted everything for me was: “You don’t need to earn rest—you need to honour it.” That helped me realise that prioritising myself wasn’t selfish—it was essential.Since starting, I’ve achieved far more than weight loss. I’ve rebuilt my relationship with my body using visual tracking and measurement overlays that helped me see progress in a way that felt empowering. My body composition has improved, my energy is back, and I feel more capable than ever.Working with Alex, Greg my coach and the Sustainable Change team has been transformative. Their support helped me build habits that align with my values—nutrition, movement, recovery, and empowerment. I’ve even applied these insights to my work, designing wellness-focused spaces and community kitchens that reflect the same principles. If you’re nervous about starting, I understand. But this isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about reclaiming your power. Sustainable Change gave me the tools, mindset, and encouragement to rebuild from the inside out If you’re nervous about starting, I understand. I joined Sustainable Change in January 2025 and yes, I’ve lost weight and lost cms, I’m fitter as well. But I’ve been here before with other diets and boot camps etc and the weight has come back. So, what’s different now? What’s giving me the confidence that SC is going to continue working? The difference is that I’m not carrying the burden of losing weight on my own. Right from the start SC have been there with me, my coach Kathryn is supportive, encouraging and motivating and there are a whole range of experts to help as well as the wonderful Facebook community. The realisation that I wasn’t on my own this time literally lifted weight from me. I know I can keep losing weight until I reach my goal because this has been a tough year with a lot of grief to process, in the past I would have gone back to bad habits but with the truly sustainable approach of SC I have kept losing, kept working out and built up resilience. My biggest achievement since joining SC is growing the confidence and determination to fulfil my writing dreams - I will always be grateful for that.

I am very impressed so far with Alex from Sustainablechange, as he gave up his own free time to contact me and offered me good, free coaching advice, and I can’t wait to begin my journey to a healthier and fitter me. Alex is very professional and feel he builds successful and meaning relationships with his clients with his trust and knowledge. I feel his passion for wanting his clients to succeed by promoting sustainability and enhancing their overall well-being One again thank you for your kindness and professionalism and shall let you know my progress in the next 5 weeks.
Absolutely amazed by all the free resources offered by Alex. I’m currently working through the course and there’s so much content. I’ve got loads to work with already. Communication is excellent….not pushy at all and understood when I said I couldn’t sign up to anything at the moment. And I was so grateful for the offer of the course. Alex seems really genuine and clearly wants to help people. Super grateful for his generosity and guidance.
