Feeling younger and healthier

When I joined Sustainable Change in March this year I was almost the heaviest I'd ever been, had joint problems and back problems, felt exhausted all the time, and worried about the effect on my heart. And I felt old and incapable. I found Alex Neilan and SC on Instagram and was immediately struck by Alex's confidence and directness. After initial contact I watched several videos and was reassured that this was real and they could help me. One of the first quotes I remember hearing was "It has to be now" and for me it really did. Like a lot of women I find it hard to ask for help – Alex is always saying “Take the help”, there is nothing to be ashamed of in needing it.The support and help, and the emphasis on learning, make it a rewarding experience on many levels. I discovered that I enjoyed exercise, given the right type of exercise that is – I had always hated sports but I love my SC workouts. The advice on healthy eating is pragmatic and based on making it part of your life moving forward, so it is truly sustainable. I would never have believed I would lose weight and feel so much healthier in such a short time. I still have a way to go but being almost two stone lighter, a dress size smaller and feeling stronger and more energetic than I have for nearly 30 years is just encouraging me to see how much more I can achieve. The effect on my way of thinking is amazing too – there is so much training on psychology and cognitive change which helps you to see how everything is linked, and the holistic approach is great. It's so important to feel that you can do something for you, and by prioritising your health and fitness you’re going to be independent and able to look after other people more easily. It took me a while to see that, but I need to be healthy to look after my mother, so if I’m ill that’s no help at all. It’s a little scary to jump in at first but it has been so worth it for me. No regrets whatever, unless it’s that I didn’t find SC sooner.

20kg down, energy up — I feel younger at 60 than I did at 50!

Before joining Sustainable Change, I was in constant pain and struggled to move well. I wanted to keep up with my active teenager, but I couldn’t.With my brilliant personal coach Peter (who genuinely cares), Alex Neilan’s live talks four times a week, plus the professional masterminds and coaching sessions, I’ve had a wealth of opportunity to grow my mind and shrink my body.I’ve lost 20kg, started exercising despite health limitations, and now I can play basketball and even do flips in the pool. None of my clothes fit — I had to buy new underwear for the first time in 15 years because the old ones were literally falling off me!Most importantly, my mindset has transformed. Alex’s boundary — “I don’t say yes to anything after 8pm” — really stuck. And the metabolic consultant’s picture of insulin resistance was unforgettable: it’s like having food delivered right to your sofa — you don’t even get up to answer the door. That simple image made the science (and the power of everyday movement) click. If you’re nervous about starting, go for it. We all know how to lose weight; it’s the doing that’s hard. Sustainable Change gives you the team, tools, and support to finally make it happen.I chose to put myself first for my child — because if there’s no me, there’s no one to guide him. And I chose to put myself first for me — I want my later years full of health, joy, and frivolity. Approaching 60, I feel fitter and healthier than I did a decade ago. That’s my biggest win.

Life changing programme

I joined SCP nearly a year ago and I can state, without reservation, that it has changed my life. The support and encouragement that I have received from my coach, Jamie, and the other SCP members has been amazing. I have done other programmes over the years but nothing reached the wide ranging level of support that I have from the team. There are so many 'non scale' wins for me and when people comment that I have lost weight, I just tell them that I have gained strength and stamina and confidence, far more than losing a few kg. I have a way to go on the path to weight loss but I know that I will be supported throught the long journey ahead and I am preparing for what life throws at me throughout my retirement. I have chosen to Add Days to my Life AND Life to my days. Thanks Alex and the Team!

Sustainable Change - transformative

I joined the Sustainable Change programme when I realised that if I didn’t lose weight it would severely impact my life. It has been transformative and I learned so much. I have built good eating and exercise habits. I have lost 10kg and am fitter than I have been in decades. Alex and the team provide great support and there is a wide range of expertise available from psychologists, personal trainers, pelvic floor specialists as well as your own personal coach. It is not cheap but I have found it worth every penny. I suggest you find The Sustainable Weight Loss Support Group on Facebook. Alex gives free talks at 7.30 Monday-Thursday morning with strategies on weight loss and testimonies from clients. He also gives opportunities to get help with the cost of the programme through scholarships and other offers. Would thoroughly recommend.

My excellent experience-Hayley King

Having spent years avoiding the camera or hiding in the background it events, something finally made me say enough is enough! The problem was, I’d tried many diets and although I’d initially lost weight, it soon piled back on, and more! One evening, the sustainable change program popped on my Facebook feed! I looked and felt this was different and just what I needed. The difference is that sustainable change doesn’t merely focus on food, it’s an holistic approach to weight loss, with the focus being on sustainability. It works! I am thinner, healthier, happier and stronger than I’ve ever been! Through this program I have a coach who talks to me everyday, I have access to physios, therapists, doctors and even financial support. But more importantly, I’m part of a community. A community that straightens my crown when it slips. A community that celebrates my successes and encourages every step of the way! I highly recommend this program. It has changed my life!

A new way to health and happiness

I had been thinking about putting my health and weight first for a while, when I came across the Sustainable Change post on FB. At first I just thought it was another quick fix con, but after several months of watching the posts and actually being in contact with Alex Neilan through email and text I realised that this might be a good choice to get the help and advice I needed.I joined up and was allocated a coach (Rab) who then talked me through the whole plan that I was going to follow. Rab has been in contact with me everyday advising and conjoling and in general helping me stick with the plan. There are other experts on the team who are there to help with all aspects of life. Mindset, physical and financial. This isn't a diet, this is a new way of looking at one's goals and aspirations. For those who are on the fence, as I was for a long time, dip that toe into the water and give the team a chance to show what they have to offer. Why put of til tomorrow what can be done today. Your health is your wealth.

I felt I was lured in with a promise of…

I felt I was lured in with a promise of a fat loss cheat sheet however this was not the case. I was ‘ Persuaded’ to sign up at significant cost with the promise of support but quickly realised my coach wasn’t supportive. He said ‘ you just need to do this for 3 months’ . He really didn’t appreciate my lifestyle which I thought I was paying alot of money for! Waste of money - don’t sign up !

It's Made Such a Difference, and I Feel AMAZING!

WINS! I feel energised, body shape is changing and I have lost weight!!Having struggled with my weight from a child, trying so many different diets, nothing was sustainable. I would look in the mirror and not like what I saw, and would hide in big baggy clothes! At my heaviest, I would get out of breath just walking up stairs. I am at the point in my life where I need to take control and do something for myself to secure a healthy future, I want to be able to enjoy life in my later years, I love hiking, travelling and skiing and much more. I came across the Sustainable Weight Loss program on Facebook, for some reason what I was reading hit a lightbulb moment, from then on its been a journey, from having the first contact and conversations to signing up, building a relationship with my coach Andy, following the program, having the support from other members on the inner circle, suggested books to read and listening to all the mindset videos, it really is life changing.I'm in my 7th week, I have lost just under a stone in weight, my body shape has changed through the resistance training and healthy eating, I feel positive and motivated, I like seeing the changes in the mirror. I have dropped a dress size, and feel proud of myself when people comment on how well I look. Don't get me wrong, its not been easy you do have to work at it but once you get into the mindset and routine it becomes a way of life, I still have a way to go, but feel I have to tools to continue sustainably for life. Its an investment worth making. I would 100% try it, but you have to put the effort in to make it work, you need to be accountable for your actions, you may have wobbles, but you just ask for help and support. Thank you XX

Free course- really helpful.

Alex was very keen to help. He sent me a free course which is proving to be extremely helpful and informative. It is full of hacks to help with weight loss and tries to make it as easy as possible and sustainable.

Sustainable Change is changing lives for the better

Sustainable Change has helped me in so many ways. I joined 2 years ago, and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.Initially very wary, I did some research and realised this was very different from any previous weight loss programmes I had tried, and there were lots! During my first phonecall with Alex Neilan I felt assured that my life was going to improve. I needed to trust in something that would bring me out from despair, find my mojo again and rebuild the confidence I had lost since my breakdown 5 years previously. This was my last chance to make self improvements.I initially signed up for 12 weeks of the Sustainable Change programme. It was scary investing a big sum of money in myself, but I trusted that it would be something that I could achieve big results with. I did lose weight in those first 12 weeks, but more importantly I gained so much knowledge, started having a much better outlook on life and started to believe that my health, mindset, physical ability would all improve and this time for life.I was invited into the Elite programme around week 8 or 9, but I couldn't afford it at that time. I knew I would still have lifetime access to all the benefits of the programme but no longer have an assigned coach. I thought this would be ok, but after 6 months without a coach, I found myself slipping back in to old habits. So, I contacted Alex and the team to see if there was a way to get that extra support and within 48 hours Alex called me up and invited me in to Elite Physique Platinum for a more in depth level of support with more coaches, nutritionists, phycologists, personal trainers, doctors, and a physiotherapist. Yes, all this did cost money, but I was investing in me.I am enjoying the wonders of menopause, and understanding more about why my body and health and wellbeing needs have changed, thanks to the amazing Sustainable Change Team. Their combined experience and knowledge is helping me and so many others understand the importance of good nutrition, resistance training, routines/habits to remove barriers hindering weight loss, and most of all helping us all realise the importance of self worth.I have an amazing coach, Emma, and she is my lifeline, I can contact her at any time and she always has such supportive advice and guidance, not just standard textbook answers like previous trainers on other programmes have given. She is qualified, understands my needs and if ever I have asked for an additional change to my meal plans or my exercises, she has put together what I need. She has got to know me well over the time she has been coaching me and she always knows when to give that extra push or offer the supportive "hug".There are several sessions each week with different members of the support team and these "Mastermind" sessions are invaluable. I am learning so much in a safe environment and my confidence is definitely higher than when I first joined.Sustainable Change has an holistic approach and members can get as much or as little out of the programme depending on what you choose to attend or take part in. It is a sustainable programme with a wealth of knowledge and support from lots of professionals. There's a fantastic Facebook group (The Inner Circle) for members, with nearly 4000 people, and all of them are supportive and fabulous people.I have lost weight, and will continue to do so by trusting the process. I am building strength, vitality, confidence, getting through menopause as well as shifting the excess weight, all with continuous support from Alex and his team. I am eternally grateful for all the wonderful advice and the things I am learning, and I will continue to learn, absorb the knowledge and use it so that I will eventually be where I want to be physically and mentally. Thank you Alex Neilan, Coach Emma, all the other professionals on the team, and the inner circle because I am a better person for having found you.
