I am not one to give praise lightly, however, a late night reach out to a chap called Alex when facebook threw up one of his health videos has literally given me back my self respect. There was just something about the no fuss attitude, and his straight talking, that made me click 'like' and I decided to watch one of his videos. Everything he said made sense. I was always slim, till Covid, but thyroid problems, and comfort eating due to recent family grief, made me pile on the weight. I managed to lose some but put it back on. This made me lethargic and feeling quite horrible for a long time. I felt beyond help and thought I would just slip into my 70s and give in to being old. Then Alex happened. His factual appraisal of fad diets, explained why they are not long term solutions. He sent me a message and offered me FREE help, sent videos to me, and texts, giving me support and good common sense facts. All he asked for was my commitment. NO money, NO gimmicks, just plain old fashioned advice, he and his team made sense to me, and their hand of assistance was exactly what I needed to jolt me out of my complacency. I feel kick started ! I am already on my way to feeling healthier...the weight loss is a side bonus. I would urge anyone, of any age, who is feeling at a loss with their weight to contact Alex, and his team, and just listen. One of their mantras is: If you can't make time for your health, you have to make time for your illness. So true!It is free, it is healthy, and most important...it is sustainable. All they ask is that we commit. I have! Thanks Alex and your team.
Before I came across Alex Neilan and The Sports Dietitian I was at my all time heaviest and nothing I had tried was getting rid of the menopause weight gain. I was having problems with my knees and general movements but couldn't stick to regular gym visits due to work patterns and motivation. I have spent a lot of money on memberships to different gyms, apps and slimming clubs. I was miserable, had no self esteem and no confidence that I would ever get back to the way I was. I just couldn't stick with anything. I have 2 very young grandchildren and another on the way and want to be an active part of their lives but felt useless as I couldn't even get down on the floor with them, and if I did I couldn't get up.In the first 4 weeks of being on the TSD programme I lost 4 kilos and am regularly joining in live workouts. I have more energy, stronger knees, more flexibility and the confidence that I will keep to my goals and am aiming for much more in the near future. I had a bit of a wobble when I was really busy the other week and I couldn't always stick to the plan. I spoke with my coach Fra and he gave me great tips and made me feel better. The meal suggestions and exercises are tailored to your needs and have alternatives if you cannot do them for any reason. I love their live workouts with Mish online and her use of the you do you mentality that makes it sustainable. I got a call from one of the psychologists Jane who looks into your relationship with food, activity and any other aspects of your life you are concerned about and she gave me strategies to help to put me first and address the root cause of some issues. I was then right back on track and now if I want a treat or don't stick to the plan I forgive myself and make up for it elsewhere.Honestly, if you are thinking of joining up but still unsure, I would 100% recommend it. There is a whole team of wrap around support available to you all the time and a fabulously supportive online community (the inner circle) that are there to celebrate your wins, share tips and recipes and be generally helpful and encourage you if you wobble. With the prospect of 3 grandchildren under 3 by the start of August, I knew I needed to do something to ensure that I could enjoy my time with them and live long enough to see them grow. I spend most of my life running around supporting others and putting everyone but me first but thanks to the motivational talks and sessions, I can see why I need to put me first. It's like they say, put your Oxygen mask on first or you will not be able to help anyone when you drop. I no longer feel bad if I have to say no to someone so that I can put me first. I try to attend a live workout or support session but they are recorded so they fit into your times too. I'm loving the new me and looking forward to being an even better version of me in the future.
Absolutely excellent service...I had prompt responses and all the.information I have been given is all free. I have never had so much help offered for free. And I've been supplied with so much helpful information. Highly recommended for ease, answers, and a true want for you to do well. Excellent service.
This is so much more than a diet and I'm so pleased I clicked on the link on Facebook.I had a horrible year in 2024 with three major losses and found comfort in crisps and chocolate. In 7 weeks, I've lost 3.3kg and I have the same again to lose. Not a lot, but makes such a difference to my self confidence seeing my body changing, my muscles developing is so exciting.I have a personal coach who is so supportive and makes me laugh. So far from a sergeant major approach.Another thing that's different is they have sorts of psychological advice and talks with a huge reading list to be the best you can be. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, I thoroughly recommend. They even provide a diet for you with your favourite meals tailored for you to follow for breakfast, lunch and dinners. The only way you can fail on this programme is by not signing up!
Signing up to the Sustainable Change Programme with the charismatic Alex Neilan The Sports Dietitian, was the best decision I’ve made. Having been a yo-yo dieter, with limited successes, the idea of a ‘sustainable’ change resonated. I’m not fully through the programme and already I feel it embedding in my life. That’s because this isn’t just a ‘diet’. It’s about educating you on a way of life, from all the experts you become supported by. If you feel in need, jump in. Invest in yourself for YOUR FUTURE. After the words “pre-diabetic” were mentioned at my check up, something had to change. Thanks to Alex and his team, I won’t be going back to that place.
I feel so privileged that I have received a free course. There is so much information provided and I am feeling really positive that I can finally turn my life around. I’m in remission from breast cancer and it is so important to my health that I become a healthy weight to reduced the chance of the cancer returning. I want to feel healthy again and full of energy. I love the fact that the course fills me with the confidence that I can achieve this!!
Honestly, before working with The Sports Dietitian, my weight wasn’t the biggest problem, it was how much space it took up in my head.I was constantly thinking about what I could and couldn’t eat and tying my confidence to a number on the scales that never seemed to move in the right direction. It wasn’t extreme, just constant. Background noise that made everything feel harder than it needed to be.I don’t realise how much it was draining me until things started to shift.Something Alex Neilan said early on landed so clearly: “If you don’t make time for your health, you’ll have to make time for illness.”It wasn’t a warning - it was a reality check. And it helped me to stop waiting for ‘a better time’ to finally do something about it.And coach Fra was like having a calming voice in my corner reminding me that consistency doesn’t mean perfection. That you can do this without cutting out joy.The weight has come down sure but what’s really changed is I no longer cancel plans because I “feel gross”, I don’t skip meals out of guilt, I train better and I feel steady. I actually enjoy my food instead of treating it like a negotiation. If you’re on the fence or feeling nervous, I get it. I was scared I’d sign up and fail again. But this didn’t feel like pressure, It felt like relief. Working with The Sports Dietitian reminded me that putting myself first doesn’t mean becoming someone else. It just means I’m building a life where I don’t come last. And if you need a nudge? Alex would probably just say: “The time is now so 5-4-3-2-1. Do it!

Where to begin - I came upon a Facebook ad for Alex The Sports Dietician quite by chance one night in January when I was feeling particularly low about my weight and how I looked. At first I was really sceptical and hovered before I clicked on the link for more info. I had tried every diet going over the years but once I hit menopause whatever I had tried before to lose weight just wasn’t working leading me to feel like a failure, with my self esteem and confidence at an all time low. I had resigned myself to always being this size.Fast forward a few days and after speaking to Alex and his team I joined TSD’s Sustainable Weightloss Programme. At first it was a bit daunting , not only the cost but also the amount of information I received, but the fear settled down after a couple of days once I’d taken everything on board . I can hand on heart say it’s the best money I have ever spent. The amount of support you get is unbelievable . My amazing coach Emma has been so supportive and is always on hand when I need her advice and support. She is always so encouraging and really picks me up if I’m having a bad day. I always look forward to her uplifting and motivating voicemails every week. The recipes and eating plan she devised especially for me and my tastes have been fantastic . Alex has a multidisciplinary team to support you on your journey, from dieticians, psychologists, physios and behaviour change specialists to name but a few. Add on Alex lives in the mornings (which sets you up for the day) and the Inner Circle, you are never alone on your journey. As a widow this was especially good for me as life can be very isolating. The eating and exercise plans are totally curated for you and your needs, taking any medical issues into account. My mindset has changed beyond belief, I now don’t have pain in my joints - I struggled to walk before joining - I have gained a whole amount of knowledge and a huge TSD family . I eat so much more now of things I love, I’m mentally and physically stronger, my shape & weight has changed for the better and finally I’m looking forward to a much happier and healthier future. Go on - invest in you
Alex is incredibly eloquent and his caring and understanding of anyone in need of help is glaringly obvious. What a lovely approach he has to explaining clear cut ideas. I would go as far as to say he has a wonderful bedside manner. It is clear that he is able to 'heal' if we take on board what he says.
