My previous attempt at buying a new leather sofa ended in disaster as the manufacturing company went bankrupt so a good friend suggested I look at S W James website so I had a browse and was very impressed so I dropped them an email Warren the co_owner telephoned me the next day told me all about the company ,manufacturing procedures and delivery I took delivery of my new birdie sofas in under 5 weeks and the quality of the sofa's and the leather used was superior to others i'd tried,from ordering to delivery this has been a very very good experience I would have no hesitation recommending Warren and the team at S W James
When you buy on the internet you never know quite what to expect but in this case I certainly found the quality workmanship that I was looking for. They make bespoke & so I had to wait a while for the finished product but they kept in touch regarding progress which was nice.. I mean normally you place an order on the internet & then don't hear anything until an E-Mail to say dispatched.
We couldn’t be more delighted with our custom Huxley Sofa and flip top footstool from S W James.From start to finish, Warren was incredibly helpful and understanding, making thoughtful tweaks to the Huxley design so it perfectly matched the style we had been in search of for over ten years. He patiently provided leather samples so I could find my exact shade of navy blue, and incorporated subtle silver trim and feet, giving us the detail we wanted without tipping into too much bling. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.We also received regular updates throughout the manufacturing process, which made us feel completely reassured. The team even worked tirelessly to ensure delivery before our new street door was installed — service above and beyond what we expected.Delivery day was exceptional. Neil and Jenny were outstanding, so careful and professional. They even removed our street door to manoeuvre the sofa in without causing any damage. Despite Neil injuring himself in the process (and having to buy a new top before heading to the next customer!), they remained positive and committed throughout. That level of dedication says everything about the company.The finished furniture is beautiful, comfortable, and expertly made, exactly the Chesterfield-style look we wanted. Buying furniture online can feel like a leap of faith, but we are so glad we trusted S W James. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality bespoke furniture and genuinely exceptional customer service with the added bonus that it’s made in the U.K.
Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish and an absolutely beautiful sofa in our home now. It actually arrived with a few scratches on the feet, the company sent some new ones right away and a care kit free of charge as an apology. Cant get much better service than that! Brilliant communications throughout and really happy to do everything to suit you. A wonderful company to deal with.
Fabulous service and fantastic furniture! Having thoroughly researched the UK for a quality British settee we travelled the two hours to inspect what this Company had to offer. Warren was amazing, and a mine of information, with years of experience, guiding us on best solutions, giving great advice so we could make informed decisions. We had taken photos of our room and measurements, so Warrens handy tape measure was useful. The settee and chair were delivered today, the Company made us extra scatter cushions and kindly took the time to refilled an old ‘grandad chair’ seat cushion so every piece of furniture was tip top in the room. Such a professional service from start to finish. So delighted and a huge thankyou to these fabulous craftsmen and the whole team. We would highly recommend.
Amazing service. The quality of the sofas are outstanding beautiful leather and look amazing. I would definitely recommend this company. I even had a problem where my dog scratched the seat pad. The company went out of there way to help and replace the seat pad. I definitely 💯 recommend always.
From first contact the communication and overall experience was excellent. Definitely worth making an appointment and visiting the showroom and actually seeing the furniture and the quality hides that they use. Also being able to put your individual stamp on your chosen pieces means that you finish with something individual to you. We are delighted with our furniture.
We received a Birdie sofa and chair three months ago and we are extremely happy with them. The quality is excellent and they seem to get more comfortable with age!S W James handled the manufacture and delivery very professionally and we were given regular updates. Quality furniture that will last for years.
Warren, and the SW James team has been really helpful, giving clear advice on sizes and styles, sending out as many samples as I required and being patient enough to not hassle in an overall buying experience that took me 12mnths to complete the decoration in my hall and settle on the choice of leather. The sofa (Sterling) is now in place against a paneled wall and looks super.
