Although I wasn't able to visit the shop in person ahead of my order, Warren and the team were as helpful as they could be with my various queries including e.g. leather specifications. The sofa arrived on-time and the team were flexible about delivery timing and location. Finally, quality is excellent and no damage at all in the delivery.
We purchased a 4 seater leather sofa from S.W.James, the experience of purchasing the sofa from Warren was brilliant. The information presented was simple and well explained, compared to the multiple brands we had looked at previously which we found overwhelming and confusing. The product received was delivered on time and efficiently. The quality and finish of the product are very high standard and exactly what we wanted. We would happily recommend S.W.James to anyone, and should we need any sofas in the future we will be returning to S.W.James
When dealing with certain companies, you often receive 'personalised' messages from the CEO, which are actually just marketing gimmicks written by their marketing team.With S.W. James, this is no gimmick! Warren, the founder, was the person I first spoke to about my sofa. He answered all my questions regarding the depth of seats, softness of cushions and durability of the velvet I had chosen. He was incredibly knowledgeable and couldn't do enough to help. He also kept me updated on the build and delivery of my Monty sofa.All of this wouldn't mean anything if the products didn't match the service. I'm delighted to say that their sofas are absolutely top notch. Proper British craftsmanship, hand made and built to last, my Monty sofa is the perfect centre piece of my living room! I love Chesterfield sofas and the Monty is by far and away the most comfortable Chesterfield I have ever sat in. I fully expect it to give me many years of service - as Warren made sure to tell me, S.W. James will always be on hand just in case anything untoward happens in the future.One last thing to add - real quality of service only shows when things go wrong. The delivery men struggled to get the (very substantial) sofa into my living room due to its size and the limited space between the living room door and the staircase bannister. In their efforts to lift it, they accidentally put a dent in my hallway ceiling.I let Warren know, and without hesitation he offered to cover the cost of having the ceiling repaired using my local decorator. This was done promptly and without the slightest quibble.This level of service is all but unheard of these days and proves that this is a company that takes as much pride in its customer care as it does in manufacturing high quality products. I cannot recommend them highly enough and I am now a customer for life! If you are looking for beautiful furniture that lasts a lifetime and complete peace of mind, look no further!
Superb experience from beginning to end. We wanted a characterful Chesterfield but also a sofa bed, and that’s how we came across SW James. As soon as I received the samples and talked to Warren, I knew this was the one. The leather and details are more stunning than I could’ve imagined and I love the little quirks that show it’s handmade and make it unique.The folks at SW James are so passionate about character and durability, they only sell furniture that is handmade in their factory near Manchester, using the finest materials and traditional techniques that are sadly dying out. Ours was made by Clive, who has been building Chesterfields for 40 years (!) Clive’s masterpiece will hopefully seat our growing family for years and years and become a bit of a heirloom. Warren kept in touch throughout the manufacturing process with exciting updates along the way too. Definitely worth the investment for the quality and customer experience.
My chesterfield and my Jemima Chair are perfect and totally complemented by the footstool - all in the most beautifully grained vintage honey leather! This Company far exceed customer focus - it is customer centred. Would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
I recently purchased the Huxley chesterfield and Clementine wing back chair. Here, you're getting something that is truly unique, they're genuinely one-of-a-kind. Its refreshing to deal with people such as Warren who take great pride in their products and customer service. It seems to me that S.W. James stand head and shoulders above the rest of British furniture companies.
Great customer service nothing was impossible. We had lots of contact and updates on progress of our furniture and on delivery wow it was even better than we expected. It was a very pleasent experience. We would recommend using this company they realy are very helpful and attentive with fabulous skills with furniture making
We took delivery of our Birdie sofas yesterday and I have to say that they have exceeded our expectations,so much so,that we are contemplating buying another one. The craftsmanship and quality of the leather are exemplary. Backed up by the level of service afforded to us by Warren and the team,makes for a great overall experience. Thank you.
Just a quick update on my previous review.We bought 2 Huxley sofas back in June 2021. Unfortunately we had a bit of a problem with the underside of one of the cushions.I sent Warren an email about it and he arranged to have the cover repaired, gratis.Just got it back today, about 2 weeks after we discovered the problem.Amazing follow up service from S.W James - you just can’t find companies with this level of customer service any more.If you are in the market for a new sofa, I can’t recommend S.W.James highly enough!
