I waited four months for a car, only to learn it wouldn't arrive. I had to request my deposit back. They offered a new car at the same price, but I refused due to depreciation concerns. When I suggested a less expensive second-hand option, they wanted an additional deposit and higher monthly payments. This experience has been unsatisfactory, especially given their initial assurances.
My experience at a local dealership was disappointing. The service advisor was rude when I inquired about my car's repairs, responding inappropriately. This left me feeling undervalued as a customer and reminded me why I stopped using their services.
I leased a vehicle and set up a direct debit for payments. After a missed payment, which I was unaware of, the finance team contacted me months later, negatively impacting my credit. Upon returning the car, a minor issue was highlighted, which was not visible. The inspector expected the vehicle to be in perfect condition after 36 months. Additionally, I was overcharged due to a price reduction for new customers that didn’t apply to me. The entire process has been frustrating and unhelpful.
A mechanic once said to me "you can't go wrong with a Toyota". I've had two now, both secondhand, and so far he's been proved right, they've been very reliable cars. Before I retired I was also an occasional visitor to their HQ office near Epsom, which is a lovely site and the people I dealt with there were all nice. I was shocked therefore at the rude service I received at the dealership in Croydon when I took the car in with a minor query. Maybe I was just unlucky but it's left a nasty taste, and I'll never use that dealership again.
Never sign up with Toyota Financial Services for any financing help, as customer service is very difficult to get hold of, complaint not dealt with and try and avoid getting involved in anything that looks like effort. Might as well talk to your cat for all the use they are. They are so bad they even have their own trustpilot site Toyotafinancials pretty much all reviews are 1 star. So highly recommend not getting your car finance via Toyota Financial Services.
We recently received a Product recall for our BZ4X for the HVAC. We called our local S E Kings Lynn, and they managed to get it booked in the same week. We took the vehicle and dropped it off, we got to 4pm and received a call to say they hadn't got time to look at our vehicle. It was then rebooked in for one week later and as we had been inconvenienced they were going to collect and deliver the vehicle back FOC. About 430pm the night before it was due to be collected we received a call and they advised that they needed to cancel the booking as the part was found to be not to satisfactory standard, strange why this wasn't picked up a week earlier when the part would have been checked. They have now escalated to Toyota UK but we're unable to advise whether we would be looking at days or weeks before it could be looked at. This is our first impression of SE service and not a good one. Yhe recall was for an issue which could be affected by cold weather.
I bought Toyota Bz4x in July 2025 it was charging 10 to 80% in 30 minutes now in October 2025 is charging in 2 Hours plus .And I told the garage they said it's ok . And now I have to take it again to garage in December they give me appointment and I am a taxi driver. Never buy Bz4x
Toyota Corolla Hybrid. Prospective Buyers need to be made aware of just how bad this car is. According to Toyota UK, 'If the vehicle is left unused for extended periods, the battery may discharge to a level where the hybrid system cannot start.' Further questioning reveals that for Toyota an extended period is defined as FIVE DAYS. So if you go away for a week's holiday there is a very good chance that the car will not start! They recommend 'running the vehicle for about 1 hour once or twice a week.' The redeeming feature of this car is it's economy but this is mitigated by the need to make constant unnecessary journeys just to keep the battery charged and one further comment. Because of the transmission system used in this car, 'bump starting' is not an option
