As a new subscriber to Tuta I have testing out many aspects of the software. I particularly like the security and encryption features. It is great being able to set up aliases as a presort to incoming mail.I recently experienced a small issue with an attachment and contacted support. I was impressed with the prompt response and follow up. Verry happy I swapped email providers
Tuta is a premier email provider. You get the privacy and respect that you would never get from Google. The support team is awesome. You can encrypt your emails or not and create your own custom domain email, if you have a website.I highly recommend Tuta. I've been a satisfied and happy customer for years.
I've been using this platform and generally found it quite satisfying. The end-to-end encryption for emails, contacts, and calendars is a major plus, making me feel secure about my data. I also appreciate the flexibility of both mobile and web apps, and features like email aliases and custom domains are incredibly useful. While I've heard some mixed opinions on the UI and occasional app glitches, my personal experience has been mostly positive, especially with their responsive customer support.
I've had Tutanota email since about 2016 or 17. I started another account with Protonmail around the same time because I wanted to try and compare which one would be better for me.My impressions about Tuta email were not convicing since the beginning, and I used it only sporadically but had some important accounts associated with it; somehow, to me, email is the entrypiont to the rest of the life online, and it really hurts when some company needs to save few cents so badly that it deletes some 200MB from their hard drives, evaporating your account when you don't log in for mere 7 months. I don't remember receiving any prior notice about it and, as I've said, it was a rather silent inbox; I would have totally noticed. (In my long experience so far, other companies had warned me about removing my account when they'd been inactive for 2 years, 3 years... Protonmail deletes after 12 months, very old accounts get another 12 months extra, so it makes for 24 months of inactivity, versus 6 with Tuta)Overall the design and user experience were discouraging and often confusing all those years, I kept wondering more and more when will the company just disappear silently, I don't know why I kept any accounts associated with it and now feel stupid for having ever trusted them. (It was a lot of fun pleading with support teams of other companies where I used Tutanota email so they would change my address manually. And those were only some where I cared to write down what email I used for them; how many have I not written down..?)I can't create a new account now with the same exact address but I can restore the address if I get a paid plan? What a genius business idea - remove the data, thus saving $$, but force new paid subscribers! The worst is: if someone sends an email to your deleted address, they won't even receive those automated "MAILER-DAEMON" replies that your email doesn't exist, so they'll think you've seen it.On top of that, I've spent a bit of time online lately looking at their public presence and can't help but suspect some intentional manipulation in places where this is absolutely a foul play: Wikipedia page seems misused to promote themselves (see the pricing section - WT*), Their subreddit is kept in check by several hard-core fans that praise and protect the company and disparage critical posts, their Bluesky posts are very often based on fear-mongering, and, most importantly, the short, generic, and *very* thankful five-star reviews here on Trustpilot are, I'm very sure of it, fakes to improve the company's image. Who could be behind it? I love to read those cute answers by the so-active support team ❤️Of the serious parts of internet, Tuta - the product and the company - is among the lowest.
Tuta is the most reliable and privacy-focused email service I’ve used. It's security is top level, offers great features like inbox rules, private calendar and excellent spam prevention. Customer support is fast and helpful (thanks Tom!). Not only that, it's affordable compared to other similar providers and is secure and perfect for long-term use.
Tuta mail is a rip-off. I paid $80 Australian for an annual ‘Revolutionary’ email account, but haven’t been able to access it since. I get a repeated error message saying ‘looks like you’re not connected to the internet’ when I most definitely am.Tried asking their help desk for help, but they’ve stopped responding. Looking at some comments on Reddit, this appears to be a common experience - and one thats been going on for over a year.$80 down the drain.Wish I’d read the Reddit comments earlier.
