Happy with tuta and support

I have been using Tuta (paid plan) for a few years now and I am quite happy. A couple of bugs were quickly resolved with excellent support. Little by little, I am making it my primary email address for private and sensitive matters, and using Gmail or yahoo (like here ) as a secondary address for purchases , published and other matters where websites are regularly hacked and lose your data. I like their philosophy and I am happy to contribute to their development by paying for a subscription.

The BEST email provider and fantastic support if needed!

I moved to Tuta approximately 2 years ago to get away from Gmail, and yahoo. Phishing and scam emails that were routine at other email accounts are gone with Tuta. Private, secure, and easy to engage support if needed. My wife and family now use Tuta, too. I am a Tuta lover!

Easy setup - fast customer service!

Easy setup. I've got email and calendar, setup for me and my wife. And it's easy to login, simple overview and easy-to-use settings menu etc.Calendar is also easy to use (wish i could give each individual event in my calendar, a color, like i could on google)If you want a family plan, you have to contact support, but they do enable it super quickly, so that's nice!Overall their support is very helpful and their service works. Quick and easy to log in, and they even got apps for your phone too.And setting up so you can use your custom domain with their mail service, is easy too, just follow their setup guide. (then what could make it difficult is the web host you're using but that's not a tuta thing! im using hetzner)Only negative thing i can say is, i dont like the color-schemes on the website (there's a few choices, and i'm not a fan but that's a personal preference)And it's much cheaper than competing products like Proton

No help whatsoever

I have been a paying customer since 2017 and used Tuta for custom domains.Over the years, I have been pretty happy with the service. However, when I decided to leave there was absolutely no help to be had. I can't stop the subscription because of payed features, but support won't tell me how to disable those features despite contacting them (Pia) multiple times. I can't change my credit card to stop them from withdrawing money either.I am now in the process of trying to export my mail and simply deleting the account.I am extremely disappointed by the attitude and lack of help. In the past I would have recommended Tuta. Not anymore.Edit: Thank you for the reply. I have contacted you multiple times. I have told you I needed help. Your assistance was as helpful as your reply now.

Customer service non-existent for Free individuals, and pricing unclear

The products are incredible, and I applaud the development for these beautiful (and more private) mailbox, contacts, and calendar experience.However, as a free user considering a potential upgrade, I reached out to Tuta's support team with questions about pricing discrepancies between their mobile app and website. Unfortunately, I haven't received a single response yet, which is deterring me from becoming a paid subscriber. It seems that customer service is not a priority for free users, which is concerning for potential subscribers like myself.I particularly noticed that the annual price isn't clearly displayed on their website. There's no clear indication of "Billed this X amount every 12 months." Instead, only a price per month is shown, even when toggling on the "Yearly" option. However, on their iOS mobile app, I do see the full annual price of CA$50. This inconsistency feels like an attempt to hide the true cost for those paying via the web.

They are so privacy oriented that won't let anyone with VPN sign up for their mail. Avoid using this e corp they will sell you and your data by 1st request.

Tuta provides great service

Tuta provides great service. I have made a few technical inquiries to them since I started using them, and they have been very helpful each time. I have no problem paying for one of their premium plans, as they do operate for a good cause: privacy. Something to note for those who can’t decide between Tuta and Proton: I haven’t seen this ever mentioned when searching for reasons to pick one over the other, but Tuta’s free service auto-deletes Trash emails after 30 days, whereas Proton locks this behind their premium service.If there’s one thing for them to improve, I guess it would have to be their desktop apps, which I found to (sometimes) not reconnect to update inboxes.

Been a Tuta customer for many years now and they provide great service whenever an issue needs resolving. You can trust them to do whatever is sensible and within reason to solve whatever issue you might encounter.

They Have No Idea What They are Doing.

UPDATE2So after waiting three month, I gave up waiting.They have support through their Reddit account, very odd way to provide support, where doing so, paying customers are mocked and insulted and they do absolutely nothing to monitor it.Their email support is useless since I can not get and answer nor based on 100's reddit post can anyone else.Their Reddit is full of complaints of locked out accounts, which worries me what did I sign up for.It goes back to carelessness and poor lack of understanding of how to run a business. Forcing members to post issues on Reddit for support. Make it look like all you have is problems.Wow, never seen a company so poorly run.UPDATE:Month Later, still no response.Hello anyone home?Is the company is poorly managed? Well it feels like it. And has had many security issues over the years, that the competition has not. It should have been my red flag. I tried to over look allot, to a point. However the software is severely unstable. example Its spam system has no way to truly adjust. You are at the whim of the companies ideology. Non-spam get spammed. Obvious phishing should be caught and is not.The customer service is rude, and condensing. They act like you should know the answers, and are rude if you question them on the software working.They spend allot of time on PR, when they should be providing support. I have used support at hundreds of places as part of my job. But this support feels like kids are running it. Not professionals. I signed up looking for a no nonsense company, with the eye for privacy and security. And maybe they supply that, but there is no way to gauge that trust as interacting with them is difficult.They tell you to email them, do not they wont reply. They tell you to use their support forum. It is not a support forum, it is a reddit sub, that is full of trolls and unmanaged by Tuta.In system contact by support is best, then you are only waiting 1-3 days. Not weeks. I still have email they never responded to. I suspect these 5 star reviews are paid, as there is no way this variance in service can exist. And seems also in the reviews one negative, is quickly followed up by a five star.There are other providers out there. Its sad that Tutanota is operating at such a poor level. I really hate leaving a bad review like this. But I have given them dozens of tries over several months. I can not recommend this email service at this time. Most of these reviews of the many negatives, say reach out to us to resolve. And no doubt they will say this, is not the experience they like to see etc. etc. They seem too arrogant to see the issues or resolve them. Problem? What problem, is exactly what they make you feel like.I will give a 1/2 star extra because setup for domains was super easy and worked very well.But most of the spam issue were with their email service, not my domains. So 1.5 stars over all.Over all the company is a mess, seems no captain running this ship.
