This Company is a scam!!! First, it was totally misleading how they hide additional charges to take the car to other countries out of Germany. Nevertheless, I had them charge me and they took this amount out of my 900 Euro security deposit. After returning the car w full tank and in same condition as when I picked it up, there was no paperwork stating they accepted the car. I made phone calls, which were useless!!! So I’ve been writing emails to customer service and no responses!!! 15 days later I’m still trying to get my deposit back!!!!Just disputed the charge with my credit card in hope to receive my money!!!SCAMMERS! Unreachable! Thieves!!!
Total scam. The site wasn't at the airport. After I walked 10 minutes through the rain at midnight in a foreign country, they made me pay for extra coverage I didn't need before they would release the car. They wouldn't give me a refund when I complained. TOTAL SCAM!!!
Seriously DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!I can not stress this enough. If I could give 0 or even negative stars I wouldExtremely dishonest .Had an issue in regards to a toll fair that I was unaware of in Austria, no notice or toll booth.I had all the correct vignettes for all countries travelled & had correctly paid all tolls, whoever there was a mix up in regards to one. Whilst we were in contact with the relevant Austrian departments to pay either the toll or fine if required and had notified Wheego of this situation. They Allegedly paid the fine & then charged us another €99 in admin feesNet result a toll we could of paid for around €10 ended up costing us €220 ($390 AUD) & was taken out of our hands as there was nothing the relevant authority could then do.Please learn from our mistake in using this company and allThe other negative Evie’s on various platforms
So wish I had checked reviews prior to renting! $200 in fees were charged...and that's with paying for the unlimited toll tag that I didn't even need. This was the biggest ripoff. To add insult to injury, the company is off-site from the airport and charges multiple fees for transportation to and from the airport. It is NOT within walking distance, especially when traveling with luggage. The cost looks great upfront, but you pay for it and more on the back end. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. SCAM! Here's all of the fees from a 5 day rental. Per the website at checkout, the car rental total was $109.00. Here's what I actually spent: $293. 77. Truly awful, they have no conscience whatsoever, the car was delivered back to them with no damage. He couldnt find anything, he even checked the roof, windscreen etc, he was out of luck. He as a last resort tried to get me on an existing tiny tiny mark, shame for them I had a photo showing the tiny mark was there on collection, it was even on their own paperwork! Guy then says he needs to go and get something to remove the mark ... why, I had already proven the mark was there on collection. He comes back out with a cloth, ignores the mark on the rear wheelarch but for some reason wipes the front door. Then he calls me over and lo and behold, a huge 25-30cm deep scratch (all the way to the metal) has just appeared!! Just like magic!! The guy had just scratched the car himself, it still had the tiny flakes of paint on the scratch!!! Conned me out of €1400. They are known for doing this.
Exorbitant hidden fees with which they are out to get you! No customer service, if you complain, they threaten to call the police. This was Wheego at the Frankfurt International Airport, but I am sure the Standard Operating Procedure is the same everywhere. A company nobody needs!
Fact: the T&C document provided at the time of booking stated that a credit card in the main driver's name would be required. The kind of language normally found in car rental documents.Fact: at the time of vehicle collection at Kraków Airport, the company came up with a new requirement that the card must include the full first name of the main driver. My card includes initials + surname and it has never been an problem.Fact: the company offered to accept the card after all, as long as I took full insurance (FDW) and fuel with them, worth a few hundred euros. Else, the vehicle would not be released. My worst experience in 30 years or car rentals. Why Ryanair or Rentalcars.com associate with them, I do not know. I would be embarrassed.P.S.I reached out to the customer care team following their reply on the 2nd Sept. It looks caring, so why not?I can report that, after exchanging a few emails, it became clear that the company were not prepared to reflect on what had happened. This only served to prolong the trauma I was hoping to put behind.
