Great after sales service

Very well made and reliable product. My unit was damaged by a bird strike and Youshiko supplied exactly the replacement parts I needed at a very fair price.

YC9395

The product is very well engineered with minimal assembly and the transmission range is impressive - approx 37m and through three walls.I had difficulty setting up the Wi-Fi connection but an email to customer services at youshiko soon sorted it out.Excellent product and excellent follow up.

Longevity

I was quite happy with my product while it was working and had no trouble following the instructions and setting it up. In addition to the £239.99 I spent on the weather station, I also invested in a 10' pole and fixings to get more accurate wind readings.18 months down the line and the external sensor unit is faulty and out of warranty. Having investigated myself the only thing wrong with it is the temperature and humidity sensor. From reading forums online, this appears to be a common fault. I can clearly see corrosion inside the sensor. It would be nice to simply replace this sensor. It is connected to the main board via a 4-pin JST PH connector so this is straightforward. Similar sensors are available online for £5-£10 depending on quality. However this does not seem to be possible and the only 'DIY option' is to buy sensors from different manufacturers in the hope one will work. The only option from Youshiko is to buy a new unit.I am giving 2 stars because rarely have a bought a product that:* is this expensive; and* breaks just outside of its short warranty; and* offers no repair option.

Very Poor Customer Service

My weather station was delivered to the wrong address and I did not know where. Youshiko at first tried to tell me that they had done all they are required to simply by posting on time. I had to force the issue and they eventually claimed that Royal Mail told them their GPS system stated it had been delivered to me correctly. Three times I told them I did not have the parcel and they claimed to have contacted Royal Mail each time. I also had a photo from the postie showing the parcel at a door which was not mine. I sent that photo and one of my completely different door to Youshiko but this was not acceptable to them as evidence and they then said they would not be contacting me again. So I had no package and they didn't seem to realise it's their responsibility to chase things up. I then contacted Royal Mail who very quickly advised that the parcel was wrongly delivered as confirmed by GPS and would try to get it back. When I challenged Youshiko i got no reply. Fortunately someone a few blocks away brought the parcel last night. Youshiko washed their hand of the whole thing and were happy to take my money and leave me empty handed. They didn't know what their responsibilities were or were not bothered. Eventually Youshiko offered me a free thermometer when they realised I may leave negative reviews, I declined the gift. I may add this transaction took place on Amazon and I have screenshots of all my exchanges with Youshiko to proof what took place. Please beware if things go wrong you could be left out of pocket. Youshiko now saying I should be relying on Amazon's guarantee rather than their customer service when things go wrong. The first thing Amazon ask you do is contact the seller to resolve matters. At the end of the day Youshiko by law should follow up missing parcels but instead wanted nothing to do with it. This company just can't help making up nonsense. Amazon were never involved in contacting Royal Mail as they don't do that. Youshiko told me they had contacted Royal Mail three times but I doubt they did as Royal Mail have no record of that. If only I could post my screenshots of my conversations with Youshiko, that would proof they are making this up as they go along. Would like to know what part of my review is misleading as it's all truthful and spot on. Plus Amazon never got in touch with me to ask me to speak to the postie. That is simply lies. Update 16th May. Firstly like I said before I had no message other than generic ones from Amazon, so I don't know what Amazon apparently showed Youshiko hopefully nothing from my personal account. Royal Mail within a minute of me calling confirmed that my parcel was wrongly delivered according to their GPS and their photo was not of my door, as I reported to Youshiko. Youshiko contradict themselves by saying the parcel was delivered to the correct address but I should contact my postman to see where it was. For Youshiko's information in the UK if a parcel goes missing it's the seller which is them who is responsible for chasing it up and refunding or resending . It's not for me to stay off work to chat with my postman. Youshiko don't seem to realise their responsibilities as they did not carry them out in my case and are happy to sit behind Amazon's guarantee. Like I said before buyer beware if things go wrong don't expect too much help from Youshiko.

Rubbish

I Had this weather station for no more than 1 year before the external sensor stopped working . Contacted customer service and as I didn't have the receipt anymore, they said nothing can be done . I then replaced the external sensor with another one, and after3 weeks it's done the same ! All customer service say is it's got too wet without even seeing the device ! It's actually places under an external pergola where no rain gets to it . This stuff is obviously made extremely cheaply, and just isn't up to the job, especially a climate like the UK . ***Edited as told to by Trust pilot*** - Youshiko absolutely do not threaten you with legal action if you post anything negative about them, which hasn't happened to many people if you read other reviews here and on many chat forums. I do not think this explains why they have such a high rating - quite clearly they are not threatening anyone who dares to write about their experience. Not only should they improve the quality of the product, but perhaps a little brush up of UK law wouldn't go a miss !

Exemplary customer service

I recently purchased a 7 in 1 weather station YC9471. The set up was quite complex, but I managed it eventually and was really pleased until my dog brought the console crashing down to earth and broke it. I contacted Youshiko and they offered a new but reconditioned console for a decent price rather than having to buy the whole bundle. Payment was simple and they were very helpful. As I thought, I had difficulty getting the new unit to talk to the sensor and my router. I emailed and within an hour had a phone call back from tech support who walked me through a full reset and, of course, it now works perfectly. This was exemplary customer service from a most pleasant member of staff.

My contact with Youshiko concerned my radio controlled wall clock…

My contact with Youshiko concerned my sister's radio controlled wall clock. It has worked perfectly for 2 years since purchased but she accidentally caused it to drop. The temperature changed from centigrade to Farenheit.Unable to revert it I contacted Youshiko who immediately responded by telephone and email. Such an efficient back up is much appreciated. Thank you Youshiko.
