Mixed feelings about my experience

I switched to this store about four years ago to avoid being overcharged by other supermarkets. Overall, I'm satisfied, but I have noticed some issues. I often find expired items and some staff can be rude. Additionally, the beauty products are only available on specific days, making it hard for those with full-time jobs to shop. These changes could attract more customers.

Helpful staff

Alec at your store in Springfield, Chelmsford was particularly friendly and helpful. Nothing was too difficult and he even helped me find the right product I had been looking for by calling a colleague down to bring it to me at the till. Thank you. Much appreciated.

Health & Safety .....

i went to the store today around 4.30pm to do my shopping. i was stopped driving into the carpark by an angry little security guard simply saying you cant come in health & safety so i asked why i couldn't come in because he gave no explanation why regarding the health & safety then started accusing me of being angry all because i dared to ask him why i couldn't come in. if he would have explained straight away the reason i couldn't enter was a problem with the barrier it wouldn't have led me to writing this review your staff need better training and to stop accusing customers of being angry when all he had to do was explain the reason customers couldn't enter the store.

Aldi special buys release dates are…

Aldi special buys release dates are unreliable. Often I have visited the store after following online information. Each time it’s been inaccurate and a waste of a journey! Last Thursday was supposedly the day in which my local store (11 miles) would be stocking a Christmas reindeer. After making the journey and arriving as soon as they opened, only to be told NO the store didn’t receive any. Waste of my time, I’m not rushing there again anytime soon. Unreliable.

2025 and they still expect a quid for their trolleys. Who, other than ancient people, carries cash on them, let alone shrapnel? I was going to use them for my regular shop, but back to Tesco. Idiots.

Extremely Distressing Experience with a Staff Member

On 7th November, in an Aldi supermarket 1-4 London Rd, Brighton, I was subjected to unprofessional and intimidating behaviour from a male employee while queueing at the self-service checkouts. Without justification, he aggressively ordered me to “move back,” claiming I was in the way, despite the absence of any signage or reason to do so. I was standing appropriately in line and not obstructing anyone. The employee ignored the person in front of me and chose to single me out. This same individual had previously made unwanted personal advances toward me outside the store, which I rejected. His behaviour during this recent incident appeared retaliatory and personally motivated, not grounded in any legitimate store policy.Such conduct is entirely unacceptable in any professional environment. It reflects poorly on both the individual concerned and the store’s management oversight. I strongly urge the company to address this matter seriously and ensure staff understand the boundaries of professional behaviour.

Rude shop assistants and abusive security.

Aldi Camden is my local shop. I never had any problem before. I use to do my shopping partly in the local M&S and in Aldi. Two days ago, after I paid for all Aldi items, the new security person grabbed my M&S bag without warning me, looked inside, then dropped it on the floor. When I complained that he should have asked my permission, he laughed at me in a rude bullish way. Today I did part of my shopping in M&S, then I went to Aldi to finish the shopping. It took me about half an hour hour to put my shopping together. I left my trolley unattended for less than two minutes right before paying. When I came back I found my trolley emptied. Apparently the security asked a shop assistant to empty my trolley. Without my permission they removed all my Aldi shopping and went through my M&S shopping mixing it up in a bad way. When I complained and I asked to have my Aldi items back, the security, along with two shop assistants, surrounded me laughing at me in a bullish way. They refused to give me back my shopping. The security refused to identify himself, hiding his ID tag. They escorted a regular customer that was trying to pay out of the store, not allowing me to pay. I have been a regular customer of my local Aldi for years, and I never went through such a bad experience. I feel I have been bullied and harassed. I cannot understand why Aldi workers should send away regular paying customers just to satisfy their will to bully them. All I know about the bullies is that the security tag ends with 9560 7125 2043. He managed to hide the rest of his tag. The shop deputy manager, Amandeep, somehow excused himself at the end. I bet that is the best they can do after approaching their customers with such bad manners.
