Food quality is extremely good quality, availability is good, staff are courteous, never had problems with refunds, find it difficult to believe why Aldi have attracted so many negative reviews, I am more than happy with Aldi coalville
Cheapskates not value for money Gave up with the shopping after none of the checkouts were open only the self checkout option that had a queue halfway up the length of the store. Not easy for someone with a carer and a trolley full of goods and a mobility scooter. Also the state of the store was a complete mess and several items without prices on the shelves.
Aldi st austell .way cheaper and better quality than to co op.Staff allways smile and greet while some food like frozen chicken is very poor way too much salt .most food there great .their bloomer bread warm tasts and smells like my gran baked it .fantastic .cheal tools i purchased four years ago still.good ..no complaints at all

I have been a regular weekly customer for many years at Grantham Aldi, and have always found staff to be polite, friendly, and professional. Unfortunately, my experience today fell far below the standards I would expect from Aldi when visiting on 09/10/25I was shopping with my 80-year-old mother-in-law, who was unloading her trolley at the checkout. The cashier, whom I did not recognise as a regular member of staff, was completing a transaction for another customer. Once my mother-in-law had unloaded all her shopping, the cashier looked at me and said that checkout 6 was free. I explained that we were together and that I was happy to wait behind her. Without saying anything further, the cashier turned off her checkout light to red, stood up, and walked away—leaving my mother-in-law’s groceries on the belt. This was completely unacceptable and left us both confused and embarrassed. Another member of staff at checkout 1 noticed what had happened, confirmed that the cashier was aware we had already unloaded, and kindly reopened the checkout for us. The same cashier then returned, sat down, and began scanning my mother-in-law’s items with clear hostility—flinging them down the collection area with no care, no eye contact, and no basic courtesy. The same behaviour continued when scanning my own shopping. The manner in which we were treated was rude, unprofessional, and entirely inappropriate, particularly towards an elderly customer. I expect Aldi staff to uphold a level of respect and customer care that reflects their company’s values, and this experience was far from that.I tried to lodge a complaint over the Aldi website and the response was also poor.
We shop in Canterbury branch of Aldis, staff are nice ,and one staff member was very patient when I had a issue with my card, though thankfully it worked after a couple of tries, the assistant on tiĺl was nice as it was embarrassing, but there was only one main till open for trolleys full of shopping and it's impossible to do that on a self service
I’m posting this on behalf of my wife who had a shocking experience there today. She didn’t have any coins for a trolley (who even carries coins these days?) and when she asked staff for help, she was basically told “tough luck” and to go to another shop for cashback. Any other supermarket would have helped her, but Aldi clearly doesn’t care. She carried on with a basket, paid for her shopping, and simply asked if she could take the basket out to the car and return it. Again – refused, because of “policy.” My wife has a bad back and was forced to carry all her shopping by hand, in pain, while staff stood by and offered zero support. The customer service was dreadful – cold, rude, and completely unhelpful. This proves exactly why Aldi is getting a reputation for being one of the worst supermarkets for looking after customers. We won’t be going back. Aldi – you should be ashamed.
