Extremely Disappointing Customer Support
I purchased a non-stick frying pan that performs the exact opposite—everything sticks to it regardless of how I use it. I bought it around three months ago in preparation for moving into a new place, and after moving in a month ago, I've used it only 3 or 4 times. It's completely useless. Avoid this product. The support team simply stated, "bad luck - no warranty."
This establishment appears to be part of a larger organization, which is why the food options are lacking. The supermarket offers only subpar products that fail to meet quality standards, making us feel like we're consuming inferior goods. It's disheartening to wonder where all the good local seafood has disappeared to!
I wouldn't rate it even a one star. I've been a loyal shopper for many years, but recently encountered a rude employee. I reported the incident to management and the company, but it seems like nobody is concerned, so I've decided to take my business elsewhere.
This company shows a concerning level of discrimination against older individuals, unlike other supermarkets, which hire a more diverse age range. The lack of experienced mentors leads to a disrespectful environment. During my last visit to a local store, I observed the manager flirting with a female employee, which delayed service for waiting customers. An elderly couple, likely in their eighties, was left standing and I felt compelled to address the situation. I calmly pointed out that it was inappropriate to keep older customers waiting. The checkout staff reacted defensively and refused to serve me. My attempt to raise the issue with the manager was futile, as he sided with her, clearly influenced by his personal interest.
This evening, my partner and I went to a store to gather most of our Christmas supplies. While it's not our usual location, as we often shop at our local branch, we felt immediately uncomfortable upon arrival. The security staff made us feel like we were being watched closely throughout our visit, almost as if they suspected us of shoplifting. We quickly headed to the self-service checkout with only the essential items we needed. My partner was very upset by the time we got back to the car. It’s disheartening to be treated this way. We plan to return to the store to file a formal complaint about the employee involved.
I am in the midst of trying to resolve a warranty issue with two products that failed within six months of purchase, and the process has been unnecessarily complicated. I've been shuffled between various parties and departments, with responsibility continually shifted instead of being clearly owned. Staff directed me to the manufacturer because the items were outside the store's return period. However, the manufacturer's process has not been straightforward or accessible, with indications that they cannot assist due to not being located in the UK, raising concerns about how warranty issues are managed for products sold here. Basic warranty matters shouldn't require this much effort, especially for items clearly labeled with a 5-year warranty. The lack of clear accountability and the ongoing back-and-forth has turned what should be a simple consumer rights process into a much more stressful and time-consuming ordeal. I am still awaiting a clear and reasonable resolution.
The service offers meat, but the quality is extremely disappointing. The steaks are packaged in a way that the large label conceals all the gristle and inedible fat, which feels misleading. When you spend a significant amount for a treat once in a while, it’s frustrating to realize you've essentially purchased something akin to low-quality dog food—our pet even refused it. We will not be returning to this supermarket again. It’s better to spend a little more elsewhere and actually receive good quality. This behavior is unacceptable, unless you need basic tools or subpar electronics.
A few months ago, while using the self-service checkout, a staff member approached me and reached into my bag, questioning a pack of cleaning pads I had bought from a different store, asking if they were from another retailer. Today, the same individual asked if I had completed my checkout, claiming she didn’t see me pay, even though there were no alarms triggered. Fifteen minutes later, after I returned to grab a forgotten item, I was again asked to open my bag, and she insisted, 'They are our items.' I responded that I had just purchased them, to which she replied, 'Yes, I can see you have a receipt,' even though I hadn’t shown one. I have seen others leave the store with multiple trays of fresh meat without any challenge, yet I, an older customer, have been stopped three times.
A couple of months ago, while using the self-service till, an assistant approached me and unnecessarily rummaged through my bag, questioning a pack of scouring pads I had purchased. Today, she questioned whether I had checked out, despite no alarms going off. After returning to the store due to forgetting an item, she insisted I open my bag again, claiming the items were theirs, even though I had just purchased them. I've witnessed others leaving with items unchallenged while I've been stopped multiple times.
