Travel insurance that will not pay out

Attempted to claim when i had to cancel a trip due to unforseen circumstances, roughly £850 between flights and accomodation only to be advised that there was something buried deep in the T&Cs that meant they had a get out of jail free card and would not pay. Why exactly do we buy travel insurance if not to cover us for unforseen circumstances?

They have all the relevant details

They have all the relevant details - they know I was on a plane that had severe delays. I get approx £20-30 for a 14 hr delay. Yet, I'm sent forms asking me whether I'm using another insurer. Not their business. I don't expect to see the money back.

Absolutely horrendous company to deal…

Absolutely horrendous company to deal with, I have been trying to claim back for over a year, with a different excuse every time…. Or the promise to be paid in 5-10 days or that it has been paid, constantly cut off from calls and on hold for hours. They do now have a separate ticket master call handler and I eventually got half of my money still fighting for the rest. This company left me in tatters. Ticket master should be disgusted being associated with them! But do keep fighting I had to involve the ombudsman in the end

Allianz Partners Ireland are literally…

Allianz Partners Ireland are literally the worst! I had a breakdown and called the Toyota helpline (which I know to be dedicated support from an Allianz call centre in D.12) They told me I'd be waiting max 90 minutes for a call out. I told them I was stranded in the countryside with a low phone battery and nowhere to use toilet facilities or even get a drink of water. It was 23 degrees out and I was absolutely roasting alive. I was advised I had to remain by the vehicle. 90 mins came and went and I called back and a really surly girl said I'd have to wait longer or she could cancel the job and organise a new call out, which would be another 90 min wait. I insisted that was illogical and of course I didn't want her to cancel the first request. Their SLA is apparently max 90 mins, so how would a fresh request improve this situation? My phone batt was now 5% and I was concerned about making arrangements to pick up my children, the call centre agent assured me someone would be there ASAP. Another 90 mins passed before a very nice mechanic arrived. He fixed my issue and told me that he'd had only been given the call 20 mins prior to his arrival. She clearly reassigned the job despite agreeing she wouldn't. The mechanic agreed it despicable how I was treated. I know these call centres are entry level roles, but my word who on earth would think it's acceptable customer care to leave someone stranded in 23 degrees for 3 hours! Absolutely no compassion was shown. Toyota claim to be all about customer care? They need to do better.

Beware Allianz Scam or Lose £1000s Like Me

I bought travel insurance with Allianz through the Aer Lingus website for a trip I took in 2022 to the US. Because of this, I believed the insurance company to be totally trustworthy. Unfortunately during this trip I had a medical emergency and had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance. After paying out directly to the hospital to cover my medical bills I attempted to make a claim through Allianz to get my money back. After a month long endeavour of reaching out to this company via and phone and email, I managed to get all the forms and documents in order to complete the claim and get my money back. The people I was in communication with via email explained this would take a month or so. Eventually someone who I had not been dealing with got back to me to let me know the claim had been processed and I should see money in my account in the coming weeks. However, this money never materialised and I again reached out to them to explain the situation and request that my claim get relooked at. Again I was promised money would be in my account in the coming weeks and this never happened. I have sent numerous emails, dealt with multiple different people and been left hanging several times at this point. Some of the emails I send do not get responded to and others do but the responses are misinformed and often address me by someone else’s name. Since it is now 2024 and I am out literally 1000s of pounds (plus the £50 I originally paid for the insurance) I have come to the conclusion that this insurance company is a scam. I can now see with the copious amounts of reviews from other service users that this is in fact the case. All I have to say is shame on Aer Lingus for promoting this awful awful company.

taking super long to reply

taking super long to reply. zero communication. After few months they finally approved my claim after I made several calls and wasted many hours trying to speak to them. I complained to the customer relations and they gave me reference number cs2262436. After at least 4,5 moths they sent me an email apologies for very long service and offered me silly goodwill of £30. The asked my for my account number which I provided and since January I have received no money at all! No reply also. I think customer relations department should itself got complained about. Such a joke. I used to be with AXA as my bank account add on and they were brilliant. No wonder Allianz have such a bad reviews. By the way I sent another email to themRecently and again complete ignorance!!!

Slow and inaccurate responses

My luggage was stolen at the start of a week long trip. In total the items stolen amounted to more than £1000. For these items they are insisting on receipts or credit card statements despite some of the items being gifts. Furthermore they won't process the claim as a police incident number is insufficient, instead requiring a police report. Two months after the theft the enquiry is ongoing as the police are waiting for CCTV footage from the train operator, they are not optimistic about receiving this. A report won't be prepared until the investigation is completed, however the police inform me that the incident number should be sufficient for an insurance claim.I have complained only to be told I haven't provided receipts or proof of purchase which is inaccurate.A terrible service, if I wasn't linked to my bank account I wouldn't use their travel insurance again.Update: was contacted on 23/08 asking for more information including a form I have returned 4 times before. Replied same day but only automated response. On calling I was told that the items wasn't received and I can't attach more than 3 documents to an email plus no zip files!
