Review Time
We bought an Asko washing machine 6 years ago. It was an expensive one, not cheap. Apparently it should have lasted 10 - 15 years. It has already broken down 3 times and we've had to pay for new parts and repair fees. This time we have been a month without a washing machine and they can't even give us an eta on when it will be fixed. I have called asking for an eta 3 times and they keep saying they will get back to me. Waste of money - Do not buy!!
Asko do not make quality productsI purchased my Asko washing machine 5 years ago. Within the first year, Asko had to replace the control panel under warranty. Now the control panel is not working again and the pump has failed. As my husband and I live alone, it does not get a lot of use. I have been quoted half the cost of a new machine to repair, so will be replacing my washing machine, but NOT WITH an ASKO. They are lemons and their customer service is not easy to deal with. The gentleman was not interested in helping me at all. This machine was highly recommended by sales staff at several outlets when I purchased it. The price was top dollar but the product turned out to be bottom shelf. For the price paid, this machine should have lasted more than 5 years.
Dreadful service. Do not buy asko. After 6 weeks still waiting on parts for microwave combi which failed after 6 years. Incredibly expensive to repair also. Main oven failed in the interim. Booked service twice and nobody showed. Two hours after end of scheduled time window, on third call, told us parts had not come so he wasn't appearing.Customer service people are rude saying there is nothing they can do. Just wait.
I asked for leave from work to wait for the delivery at home, but I received two messages from the delivery driver at the same time. The first message said it would arrive in one minute, and the second message said no one was at home and the delivery should be rescheduled. Are you kidding me? Called customer service but nothing they can do. Definitely get a refund and buy another brand.
To be fair, my dishwasher is out of warranty. I have had the Asko D5546F1 dishwasher for 6 years and in that time, I have had to replace 3 motherboards. The first under warranty, the next two I have paid for. Another mother board has failed within 6 months of being installed. I was told by the technician that board has a 6-month part warranty but would have to approach Asko myself. I approached Asko to have them replace the board under a failed parts warranty and as the dishwasher is older, they will not honour the parts warranty. Asko the product is poor as it breaks down at least once every 18 months. I have spent in excess of $1,200 in parts in labour in the last 12 months. Asko service simply do not care about the product, the warranty and certainly do not give a rats-bum about the consumer. The final email I received is copy & paste below:"Hello Thomas.Thank you for your email.I regret to inform you that the management has declined your request for a free part due to appliance being well out of warranty. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience, however, we are unable to assist you on this matter.Kind RegardsService Desk Agent
2 year old Asko dishwasher stuck on preheating mode. Just out of warranty. Was told the unit requires a new board but I asked how an apparent premium product that cost $2000.00 can only last two years. Surely if you are paying a premium ASKO would come to the party and assist. Would not purchase another ASKO product in a rush. There is no avenue to even make a complaint to them about this. There was also a language barrier with the call center so when the technician rocked up he had an eftpos machine in his pocket for the call out and I asked why do we need that.
Our Asko oven developed a simple fault. I suspected the thermostat as failed. Service tech diagnosed as thermostat. Had to wait 2 weeks for part. Finally had thermostat replaced, still not functioning correctly. Further testing revealed faulty control board and possibly cooling fan. Will cost up to $800 to repair. So told service tech no thankyou. After many emails and calls to Asko service department received no support or advice. Have decided to buy a new Bosch oven for $1000 and dump the Asko. Asko appliances are rubbish and service is very poor.
We purchased an Asko washing machine W4086C in December 2019. Almost immediately we had problems with the machine. It started smelling like burning rubber. It also got black stripes on the glass of the door. It also ate and destroyed our clothes. A repair guy was sent out and said nothing was wrong. Two years later the machine started leaking. We were given a free extended warranty by Asko at time of purchase, so we went back to Asko. They sent out repair guys who diagnosed a split hose. They repaired the hose and noted that the frame of the machine was warped. Repair guys left and our machine continued leaking. Repair guys came again, said that they couldn't do anything, and left. So here we are now. Three months without a functional washing machine. A machine which is less than three years old, and which in fact was 2.5 years old when this repair fiasco started. Endless telephone discussions with Asko. Since then we have discovered that this so-called Asko extended warranty is in fact a warranty which Asko has farmed out to a third-party insurance company (Domestic and General). They have been as unhelpful as Asko. If you wait long enough on hold with either Asko or Domestic and General, you get to hear all about how they are so consumer focused and how customer care is their priority. The Asko hold recording even mentions the quality and durability of their products. What an absolute joke. Please do not waste your money on Asko products. You can buy a better product for a third of the price, with a better warranty even. Asko do not care about the quality of their products or the satisfaction of their customers. We purchased Asko products because we believed we were buying a top quality product. Indeed, as has become obvious to us, it is inferior rubbish, and their so-called customer care is non-existent. Despite many hours on the telephone with Asko and their warranty insurance company, all we have is a leaking washing machine which we cannot use because our laundry floods. What an utter waste of money and time.
ASKO Dishwasher DB12531B Stainless Steel Interior LeakPurchased 20 months ago still under warranty, Error 54. Service technician from ASKO states there is a HOLE in base of stainless-steel interior and will report to ASKO and they would contact me. No contact received from ASKO so when I called, I was talked over and not listened to by the person answering my inquiry. It is alleged by this person to be my fault as I must have put hole in the base with sharp object.I refute the allegation and in all my many years of using dishwashers have never come across an instance of denting or piercing interior of machines with normal domestic use. ASKO have not explained how this could be possible with the Standard of Stainless Steel ASKO manufactures dishwashers, there must be a major failure at manufacturing if the interior damages so dramatically and no repairs are possible. My request to speak with a Senior Manager resulted in no contact what so ever and no assistance offered or given by ASKO.I would not recommend ASKO appliances due to my experience with the product and ASKO refusal to accept customer legitimate requests.
