I have just purchased a BMW F30 - 2013 CarPlay retrofit from Bavarian Automotive and fitted it.The kit went in well but the screen would not centre properly. I emailed and was updated in a day with a firmware file to fix the issue and make it work with my car.It’s now fully fitted, working and looks and sounds awesome. This kit is much more advanced than a previous one I had tried and integrates really well with the existing BMW head unit. The kit also contains an equaliser and loudness setting which again made ALL the difference. Really impressed and grateful to have had the help to sort the job. Would use again without a thought.Here’s some pictures to show how easy fitting was and how good it looks. Don’t doubt yourself if your tempted, get one in :-)
Purchased a unit for my daughters mini F56.Got it in and it is working well - best part of the experience was the back up as initially the unit needed a slight software upgrade to make the idrive work - quick response to my emails and got the files and instructions in a day.Would suggest reviewing the online videos for fitting - simple but lots of wires to get out of the way.
Ordered MMI box for my F31 Alpina which integrated seamlessly with the BMW system. There are a lot of units for sale on the internet with varying hardware, this one is speedy and reliable.The biggest draw card for anyone looking to buy is the excellent customer support from Bavarian Automotive. Highly recommended over other vendors for this reason.
I recently bought the Apple Car Play unit for my 8V Audi - I was a little dubious at first but the unit arrived within 12 working days and after a while playing around with it, works absolutely fine. Great addition to the car!!Just be aware the instructions aren't great but watching youtube vids explains it all.
Very quick service and delivery. Delivered everything needed. Good instructions for fitting and easy to fit. Works brilliantly. Comms could be a bit quicker but I understand it’s a small company so no issue. Woildnt hesitate to use again.
Updated 5/6/22When I received my order, a cable was missing which is critical for the touch screen to work. I reported this on 12/5 when I receive the 2 units I ordered. I’ve chased 4 times since, and been told the missing part was resent. When I queried if they have a tracking number (first package did so why wouldn’t this?) I was ignored. It’s been a further 4 days since my last message. Really not good enough when I spent over £600. I’ve taken my complaint to Clearpay who are now looking into it. So annoyed and due to this I would highly recommend going to another company. My reverse camera also doesn’t work and was told they would send a small resistor that needs installed to fix, this too “is missing” in the post with no tracking number - I could have ordered one from Amazon for £5. Fantastically quick delivery and amazing support afterwards during installation! Would recommend to everyone.
Bought the carplay MMI box as our F30 BMW didnt have carplay or satnav.Absolute breeze to install with the provided instructions and works perfectly. I had to contact Bavarian Auto for advice and their support is excellent with very quick replies.Now have all the functions of Apple Carplay while still using the iDrive controller so don't even have to take my eyes off the road.Highly recommend this.
Very helpful as after I did a software update I lost some functionality of the car play unit. Unbeknown to me the update had turned off a lot of the original installation settings. Quick response to my questions and I’m now back up and running with no issues 👍
I bought a Apple carplay box (plus reversing camera) to connect to the MMI in my Audi A3.Prior to ordering, they answered all my questions promptly and fully. The order was shipped and arrived as specified. The instructions were very clear. I have now fitted the system and works perfectly.I would definitely recommend and buy again from them.
