Review Time
I went to Big O tires on 09/18/2021 to buy 4 new tires for my 1999 jeep Cherokee 4x4 6cil 4.0. 235/75R15 part # BGO14464. Front desk guy that was helping me came up to inform me that "I needed new shocks on the Rear and front of vehicle" that was determined by the test drive taken after tires were on. I agreed to the front shocks but NOT the rear shocks because I had already replaced them just only a few months prior. The jeep was finally done after a little over 2hrs. The total came to $1066.69. They charged me for of course tires + LAB SHSHL (1) rear shock absorber {When I told them I had rear shocks already replaced} this was for one $126.58/ + MON32252 ,MNRO MTC PLUS SHCK(2) $124.95 =$249.90. the millage read 226,422 today the millage is 229922 The reason I am writing this review is because I had to replace the both Front shocks on this jeep because they were not doing what shocks are supposed to do. Yes Only 3 (three) thousand miles were put on this vehicle and 2 yrs passed but shocks are should last for more than that. I had to purchase another set of shocks and have them put on. I am very very disappointed with Big O tires. I realize time has passed, however, MY INVOICE READS[ minimum mileage warranty 3Y60 ] when I drive over the speed humps in my place It sounds and feels like I am hitting a concrete wall no kidding. I will not go to BIG O TIRES ever again and I will also let others know how I was taken by this company that allows people to operate like this. Could it be because..........You draw your own conclusion.
I live in Las Vegas, NV and went to get a flat changed since it was under warranty with them. They let me know a few other issues were apparent, namely my brake fluid needed to be flushed and two additional tires were “ticking time bombs” (I got the whole set 2 months prior, they did not cover labor costs or renew the warranty for free). I agreed and got the brake fluid flushed, the oil changed, and 3 of my 4 tires swapped. They gave it back to me with the ABS, Brake, and Stability Control lights on. When I brought it back to them, they told me the brakes were fine and they just needed to reprogram the lights on the dash, but they didn’t have the tool. I went to the location they specified would have the tool, and they didn’t have the tool. They called around to nearby locations and none of them had the tool. They sent me to O’Reilly’s to get the tool to pull the codes and didn’t know how to fix it when I brought the codes back. They never fixed it, told us they were going to hope a 24 hour cycle fixed it, and they told us to come back tomorrow. They also specified that my ABS was not working now. I’ve gone back every day for 3 days now. When I asked them if they would fix it if it turns out there was an issue with the ABS now, they said they couldn’t tell me for sure. I will never come back after this issue is fixed, if they ever actually fix it.
BigOTires almost cost me my life. After had work done on my car the left wheel collapsed due to missing bolt in left front strut. Brought to new mechanic to get it rechecked for safety reasons, mechanic found that due to the initial damage the ball joint has come loose. I have now been in danger for my life 2 times.BigOTires is unwilling to make things right unless I use their service department. They’ve now have put in danger twice the last place I’ll have my car fixed!I wish I could post pictures, they tell the full story.Beware!
DO NOT TRUST BIG O LOCATION AT POTOMAC AND ARAPAHOE.Went to put an engine in and was discussing with technician who was my point person. Was told 1500 and that it was cleared with Joe (manager?). Joe then turns around & says almost $2500.Manager was obnoxious about it. franchisee to paraphrase said Too bad we aren't doing anything. Now need to start over looking for install shop & transport vehicle, engine, & parts elsewhere (at my expense of course) & I am sure additional delays for timing.
I was told my car would be ready in one hour. Two hours later the clerk just laughed at me when I complained. He said he wasn’t the guy who made the promise therefor it he wasn’t responsible as if the clerks who speak as agents for Big O aren’t responsible…….when I asked for the guy who did make the promise of course he was “unavailable”I won’t go back to Big O
Went into Big-O tires on Fairview in Boise 5/16/2022 to have my snow tires removed and summer tires put back on. After waiting nearly 40 minutes they came back and told me that because the tires were over 6 years old, they would not put them on. They told me by law they were not allowed to install tires over 6 years, which was a lie. Tires up to 10 years old can be re-installed by a tire shop. I work from home and do less than 5,000 miles per year, and the tires still have over 50% tread left. They then told me the tires had dry rot which was another total lie, as I took them to 2 other shops who said they were fine. The truck lives in the garage day and night. Of course, Big-O tires pressed me hard to buy a new set of tires for my truck for $1000. Stay away from these guys; they are liars and outright crooks imho.
Made an appointment on-line yesterday to get a tire repaired. When I showed up today at 2185 Ford Parkway, St. Paul, MN 55116 I said I wanted to get my tire fixed because the last person to check the psi cross-threaded the cap. Counter man said the valve stem had to be replaced. OK. Then he said well, if it's not leaking you should be fine. I said I was concerned because I had nitrogen tires. He said, "No you don't". I said, "Yes I do" He said, "How do you know?" I said, "Because of the green caps." He had the grace to look abashed but then said we don't have nitrogen here. I said, "Really? Well I guess I'm not getting the stem fixed here then". I then asked if they did oil changes as I had scheduled this car fix for about 2 hours and didn't want to waste the time I spent already. He said yes. Then I asked if they would do it if I supplied the oil and the filter. He said, "We aren't allowed to do that". One would think that a _service_ business would want to get money for providing a service such as labor, but I guess not. I think that being a woman who knew her vehicles' needs was the deciding factor in my not being served.I do not recommend this business
Big-O Tires in San Leandro, on Lewelling Blvd. is the worst shop ever. I bought 4 new tires from them 4 months ago. They lied to me several times within 2 days and are bias. On Friday, I dropped a flat tire off and they said it would be ready before closing. I returned early only to find them already closed. On Saturday, they open at 8am but called me at 10:45am to say the tire is ready. I asked how long I would have to wait? They said 10-15 minutes. I said great, I will be right there. I checked in and waited 20 minutes and my truck had not moved. They said you are next on the rack. No telling how long that would be. I retrieved my keys and said I would be back on Monday for them to install the tire. Too many additional conversations of lies to mention in this space. But beware! After you purchase tires from them, they are no longer courteous and mislead you lying right to your face and denying what they had said to you earlier. I will never return after I get my tire installed and hope you never go there to avoid the same treatment I received.
Took my suv into 51st Ave and Baseline store for brake inspection. Told need new brakes all around, paid $1440 and it made horrible grinding noises so I took it back. After 4 days still made horriffic grinding noise ans was afraid to drive my own suv. I took it to another shop and they showed me they only replaced some parts but charged me for all new parts. They douible charged me for some parts they didn't even install. Filing Consumer fraud complaint with the attorney generals office. Ripping people off can't be allowed in bussineses. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
