Cars 4 U - A Review of Terrible Post-Sale Customer ServiceMy experience with Cars 4 U started off promising but quickly turned into a nightmare. I purchased a 2016 Suzuki Baleno on May 4, 2025, and initially, the service was excellent. The sales assistant, Ali, was very helpful and pleasant, which made us feel confident enough to buy the car on the spot.Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. After taking the car home, we discovered two major faults: the infotainment system wasn't working and the AC had a gas leak. Ali assured us that he would arrange for a mechanic to fix these issues and even promised to give us money to cover the cost of the infotainment system repair. This assurance was the only reason we took the car home that day.From that point on, everything went downhill. We tried to contact Ali multiple times, but he never answered our calls. We even went to the dealership in person, only to be turned away with empty promises that he would call us back with a date and send us the money. The money never came, the car's AC still doesn't work, and the infotainment system remains broken.The most shocking and serious issue, however, was with the car's paperwork. Ali had told us that he submitted all the necessary documents to the DVLA for the V5C log book. As first-time car buyers, we didn't know the process and trusted his word. Two months went by, and we still hadn't received the log book. Our worst fears were confirmed when we were stopped by the police, who informed us that the car was still registered under the previous owner's name. When we checked with the DVLA, they confirmed they had never received any application for a change of ownership. When I confronted Ali about this, he became angry and refused to take any responsibility.The post-sale customer service from Cars 4 U has been nothing short of terrible. We are incredibly disappointed with the lack of communication, the unfulfilled promises, and the negligence regarding the legal paperwork. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

Scammers and Car Issues

Back in November my dad bought his car from this company, everything was fine at first and we were told that the car had a new gear box, tires, and breaks changed, but the reversing sensors weren't working. After a while we had our first issue which was a bearing issue and then after a while we had an ABS Sensor issue. Around five months later we started having issues with the gear box, and they had said they would get it fixed within three weeks, and have it booked at the same garage we got it from on the 28th of April, when my dad asked for the address so he could take it to the garage they told him to have patience and they would give him the address when it's time, but yet it is already the 28th and we still haven't heard back. They are scamming people and people are not realising it, they are selling people faulty cars with bunch of promises but are selling people shite cars and don't stick to their words and promises. My dad doesn't recommend this garage to anyone when planning on buying a car.

I’m very disappointed with this…

I’m very disappointed with this company. Within less than four months of purchasing the car, it broke down twice. Despite this, they only provided a courtesy car and garage slot for repairs after we threatened legal action.The steering rack was completely damaged. The first repair, which cost us £2,700, had numerous issues including gearbox problems, an oil leak, missing bolts in the gearbox, and a burnt-out clutch and flywheel — all within just four weeks of purchase.The staff were unprofessional and unhelpful. It seemed like no one was informed properly, and nothing was communicated effectively. The reception staff at Sighthill were particularly rude and unfriendly.To make matters worse, the courtesy car provided was not taxed, and when we tried to contact them, the phone lines were constantly busy, so we couldn’t get through.Overall, a very frustrating experience.

**Avoid at any cost***I bought a used Toyota Yaris from Cars 4 U in Edinburgh in April 2025. From the start, the vehicle had several faults — including air conditioning that didn’t work, gearstick and clutch issues, and later more serious problems confirmed by an independent mechanic (like a rotted condenser and dangerous front brakes).Despite reporting the faults within days and formally rejecting the car under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (short-term right to reject), the dealership was dismissive, unresponsive, and tried to avoid responsibility. They ignored emails, refused to take the car back when I returned it in person, and even tried to deduct money for mileage — which the law does not allow within the first 30 days.It took multiple phone calls, emails, a formal report, and finally returning the vehicle with a witness present to get any action and only agreed after serious pushback. I am still chasing refund!This entire process was stressful, time-consuming, and financially damaging. I’m still chasing the refund weeks later. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Cars 4 U to anyone looking for a trustworthy and responsible dealership.

Caution Advised When Dealing With This CompanyMy partner recently attempted to part exchange her car (a Renault Megane) for a vehicle from this company. She was approved for finance, and we were assured that the settlement on her old vehicle would be taken care of as part of the transaction.However, it has now been over nine weeks, and the settlement has still not been paid. As a result, she is now receiving calls and emails from her finance provider regarding missed payments on a car she no longer possesses. This is also negatively affecting her credit score.Attempts to resolve this issue have been extremely frustrating. Each time we contact the company, we are passed from one person to another, given vague reassurances, or told someone will call us back — but no one does. I have personally called four times and received different explanations each time, ranging from administrative delays to needing approval from the company director.We were eventually directed to someone named Ross, who promised to resolve the matter. Unfortunately, two weeks later, no action had been taken. Further calls have yielded the same promises and excuses, including one suggesting the director was recently unwell and that payment would be processed soon.Despite numerous follow-ups from both myself and my partner, the issue remains unresolved. The car in question (Renault Megane, SC66 URX) is now listed for sale on their website, yet the settlement on it remains unpaid.Summary:Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend exercising caution before entering into any financial agreements with this company. We are still waiting for a resolution after more than two months of repeated assurances and delays.

Please dont buy from this company, worst experience ever!!!! I bought a car on the 2nd April from them and on this day 8th June , im still waiting for the finance from my car I've traded in to be paid off , excuse after excuse I keep getting from them!! They will badly mess up your credit score

These guys need a Tesla kinda backlash lets make them famous for their bogus and disrespectful practices making a video on them will post on all social media platforms so they learn Trading standards have nothing on Boycott very legal or block entrance and disrupt business make a scene until they give in thats the only language they speak seen a video recording of this so called Murray talking to a man and two women his volume was at peak no composure no respect and he walks away playing victim just days ago shocking ,he needs to be moved to valleting duties ...despicable attitude this man has he is going to lose the company some real quid if our lawsuit goes through please do not buy from here until you have triple checked it is what they say

Could have gave zero stars if the option was there.... Avoid dealing with a guy called Murray terrible customer service from the tall arrogant chap payed cash for a vehicle that turned out to be defective and not safe went back to them on the purchase warranty within days of collecting the car and was reassured they will fix all problems ..they kept the car for a week only to hand it back with no work done to it oh by the way we was tracking the car never moved till a day before collection...which means nothing except valeting it for collection ....car still had same problems ...3 visits to the office and a threat to take things further got the ball rolling they finally agreed to take the car back to fix this time they kept my car for over 3 weeks and nearly refused to give me a curtesy vehicle until i kicked off still car came back half fixed this time made passes through the car lot and seen my vehicle gathering dust over the weeks ...finally went back to confront them about the problem again murray comes out and chases the mechanic away and produces a double sided tape and says this will fix the issue. No obd plug in not even looked at the dash nor tested anything was ready to send us packing things got heated after me witnessing his tactics and he then decide to shout and throw a tantrum at us his customers and walks away ....now they offeing the vehicle to get properly diagnosed by Audi professionals ...why couldnt this be done before ? Be vary aware before you sign nor take anything from these scumbags they will sell you a dudd and act all surprised when you confront them about it ....payed nearly 20000 cash for a audi Q7 that keeps goin into accident mode with no crashes nor other vehicles nearby and the Murray guy thinks he can sort Audi presence using gaffa tape what a joke TAKE YOUR BUSINESS AND MONEY ELSEWHERE THESETIME WASTING THIEVES WILL CAUSE NOTHING BUT HEARTACHE FOR YOU ...buy at your own risk.

We put a deposit on a car but we decided not to go ahead with the sale for various reasons . I asked for my deposit back but wasn’t expecting to get it back but refund came back to my bank today so was very happy . Thank you
