They take the payment and after a few hours just informed that required vehicle is not available and Money is not returned at least six weeks after that. This is the third time they have done it and previously twice I had to call them after six weeks to get my money which was another headache. Poor Customer Service and very poor business service.. please award at all cost.After second time I decided not to get anything from them but one of the colleagues insisted that they have improved now but doesn’t look like they are even worse.

Avoid Europcar Stansted at All Costs – Scam Artists!I booked a car through Ryanair for €150, thinking I was getting a fair deal. Once I arrived at the Europcar desk at Stansted, the nightmare began.They tried every trick in the book to confuse me and inflate the price – hidden fees, invented extras, unclear explanations. It felt like I was being hustled in a market stall, not a professional rental company.In the end, I ended up paying three times the original price just to add a second driver and get full coverage – things that should have been clear and reasonably priced from the beginning.This is not just bad service – it’s borderline fraud.Run away from Europcar Stansted. Don’t fall into the same trap.

Do not trust Europcar

On my recent rental from Europcar in the UK I was invoiced and charged for an additional 2 days, they decided that I collected the vehicle 2 days before I actually did. My card was charged and it took over 3 weeks to return the funds to my account.The same rental also attempted to charge me for pre-existing damage that was "100% not there before I rented the vehicle", despite the damage being indicated on the rental agreement, they finally dropped the case when I provided photos and videos of the vehicle and the damage whilst the vehicle was at the collection depot. Do not trust Europcar, they will try and rob you and if you prove that they are in the wrong they will offer no more than an insincere apology for the inconvenience.

The worst hire company ever car broke…

The worst hire company ever car broke down AA turned up wrong customer services they got no answer. They don’t know what to do. They haven’t got any instructions. They say made a complaint about the car before I picked up. That’s the wrong size. The staff are Slough branch was absolutely rude. Horrible people never again left me stranded on the road with no vehicle.

Do not use this company!!!

Do not use this company!!!! I booked and paid for a hire car in advance, travelling from Australia to London. Unfortunately, I got my flight times mixed up and was late collecting the car. I didn't think it'd be a problem, as I'd already paid for it. BUT if you are more than 1 hour late you forfeit your booking with no refund! (should have read all the small print) Being stuck with no car, kids and a three week holiday in front of me, I had to hire another car and pay a much higher additional cost—complete nightmare and very expensive. I'm NEVER using the company again.

Bad,bad customer service

I hired a vehicle from Europcar and had to top up the engine oil during the rental because the car was running low — not ideal, considering it should have been checked before hire. I contacted Europcar at the time and was told I would be reimbursed for the oil purchase.I provided the receipt as requested, but since then I’ve been ignored. No refund, no reply, and no explanation, despite multiple follow-ups.It’s not about the small amount of money — it’s the principle. If Europcar can’t follow through on a basic reimbursement they agreed to, I’d question how they handle more serious issues.Disappointing experience. If you value accountability and clear communication, I’d think twice before booking with Europcar.

I will not be using Europcar ever again.

I will not be using Europcar ever again in the future. I had a car booked for 12 days in Crete all paid for in advance. Unfortunately our flight was delayed by 2 hours. This meant the office would be closed when we arrived at midnight. I phoned the local office to tell them I would be arriving late hoping they would stay open the extra 30 minutes. They told me that they wouldn’t stay open longer and if I don’t collect before they closed I would be a “no show” and I would lose my booking and all the pre paid money. I asked if i could collect the next morning, and was told no because they would have already cancelled the booking and put me down as now show. They suggested I call customer Services, which would be great but that was closed at 4pm on Sunday. I tried to modify my booking online but that was just trying to charge me £300 more to have a booking 1 day shorter. To avoid the no show fee I had to cancel the booking online. WHY could I not just pick up the car a day later as I had already paid the full amount!! Side note noticed the hertz desk has stayed open late to meet the flight. After starting a customer complaint, Europcar informed me they re within their rights to not refund my deposit as I didn’t give 48 hours notice to cancel. This leads me to think they would have actually kept all my money and put me as a no “show “. Will not be using Europcar again and hope others learn from my experience.

Absolutely shocking service

Absolutely shocking service, have currently spent 5 hours of a precious holiday trying to resolve an issue, car has fault light on it, advised by AA not to drive , now onto my 8th call to arrange a replacement, awful awful service, children and family unable to continue with holiday. Why can no one simply change the car !

Posting this as a warning to others

Posting this as a warning to other customers of Europcar's Park Royal branch in North West London.Having used this outfit twice, it appears that their usual practice is not to carry out any kind of pre-hire walk around with the customer. On the second of the two occasions I hired a car here, this lack of a pre-hire check was used in an attempt to make me pay for pre-existing damage to the wheel and tyre. The person I handed the car back to spotted this very minor blemish so quickly that I can only assume that they knew it was there and needed someone to pin it on.However, while Europcar doesn't do pre-hire checks, I do and I had photos to prove that the damage was there when I collected the car. The person I handed the car over to couldn't have been less interested in this despite this being an opportunity to wrap things up there and then. He was clearly desperate to pass this up the chain, claiming that he would get in trouble if he didn't.The matter was passed to Europcar's damage team, who are slow, incompetent and impertinent. After almost a month of exchanges, Europcar have gracelessly and grudgingly conceded that they were wrong and I've been informed that I will not be charged for damage that someone else caused.I certainly won't be using this shady outfit again. If you do, I'd strongly advise you to take a comprehensive and clear photographs of every aspect of the car, interior as well as exterior photographs. Time stamp them if possible. If I hadn't done this I'd have been a few hundred pounds out of pocket.

Never again! The worst car rental company. Do not book with them!I just spent 3.5 hours travelling to Europcar Croydon just to find out that I cannot pick up my car as I needed to get an address check. This was neither mentioned nor highlighted to me when I booked the car. I haven’t only wasted a lot of time today I have also wasted money travelling to and back from Europcar. When I asked Shantee, Europcar Croydon’s customer service advisor whether I can provide address proof now or whether there is anything we can do so I can pick up the car that I booked a long time ago, he was not willing to help in any way.I am left with the cost and no car. Very disappointing. I will never book with Europcar again.
