I am a buyer and analyst for a…

I am a buyer and analyst for a manufacturing company. I do business with companies all over the world. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. It starts with multiple emails asking why I did not use the free shipping label, when I had. When I inquired as to why they keep asking me about it, I received an email that said they did not have my item when I provided tracking that proved they did. Right away I received numerous emails asking for payment. In spite of some warning flags, I almost paid it but when I got to the last page, the price changed. I asked for the return of my glasses with no repairs. I still received numerous email asking for payment to repair. Finally they acknowledge the return. I asked for an address to initiate a call tag for their return, it was ignored. I finally relented and paid for shipping and they included a .99 charge for nothing. It is now more than two weeks later, I still have not received my eyeglasses back and someone from their company, hard to tell who because there are three different names on their correspondence, asking for a tip! I have never experienced anything like this and I actually asked whoever it was if they were crazy. A tip? I received several nasty emails from them. For the record, I am a very good tipper for good service, but I do not tip the grocery store clerk, the nurse, or the stewardess. This company seem sketchy.

Most horrible online purchase experience ever!

I had the most horrible experience with this company, and I am still trying to get my money back!First, i am not a competitor. I am a real customer. Second, I hate writing bad reviews, but felt compelled to do this to protect others. -I ordered my glasses on November 2nd. After a few weeks, I checked in with the seller and was told I should have known they were being delayed because they were being shipped from Europe. I finally received them in December 10th. Before I even received them, I was contacted repeatedly about leaving a positive review and sending them a “gratuity”. -The glasses were not what I ordered. They were a different style, came without the Chanel packaging, and appear to be subpar quality (I don’t think they are authentic, and it doesn’t help that they were shipped from an Eastern European country that has no Luxotica distribution center).-I contacted seller requesting to send back the glasses and to get a refund. First, he told me the glasses I ordered were discontinued and I should keep the ones he sent for a discount. Then he told me he would get me the glasses I ordered. Between all of this, there were an influx of rude and unprofessional messages and phone calls. The seller kept trying to bargain, making this feel more like a swap meet transaction than the purchase of sunglasses from a reputable seller. -After much back and forth, seller offered to issue a refund if I took down my negative review. I took down my review, he sent confirmation of a refund. The very next day, the refund was canceled and fell off my credit card. I contacted seller again, and when I told him I would repost my negative review, he threatened to charge my card another $45 for disputing the transaction. So now, I am out hundreds of dollars and I’m going through my credit card company to dispute, and I may be taking further action if he charges my card again. Save yourself the trouble, and buy or repair your glasses elsewhere.*****update: Seller’s response below is not true! He is only posting part of our communications. And the fact that he just disclosed my personal information, including my credit card information (which I have since cancelled) just goes to show the type of unprofessional company I am dealing with. Still no refund, and he just sent me the return shipping label this morning, 12/16, so I could not have returned them any sooner.

Very friendly staff

Very friendly staff, and kept me informed all along the way. Prices were reasonable, and the repair quality was excellent. I have another pair that I plan in the future to have repaired, as well.

Buyer Beware

BUYER BEWARE! High pressure to submit your eyeglasses after you fill out their form for quote estimate. Bait and switch service. I sent Eyeglasses Depot my Tiffany sunglasses asking for lens replacement. The first quote came back with cost for crystal replacement in addition to the lenses. I contacted them immediately because my glasses don't have ANY crystals on them. Were they confused with another order? They said, "typo" and revised the quote as lenses only and I provided $125 payment. I waited for glasses to come back and during this time was sent two more emails: 1) offer of $5 rebate if I submit a positive review for them before my glasses come (I said no, I want the glasses first) and 2) an email asking me to send their technician a tip (I said no, I want the glasses first. The glasses arrived shortly after that. The problem is the glasses I received are NOT mine. They are imitations of mine. They have 6 crystals (actually, only 5 since 1 is missing.) The crystals act as rivets to adhere the lenses to the replacement frames. There were NO rivets or crystals on my Tiffany glasses. My lenses fit securely within the frames. The "new" lenses are riveted on top of the frames. The stems are different. The hinges are different. The nose bridge is different. The gold color is different. These are not my glasses, it’s obvious. The salesman texted me, wrote that I was being “unethical” and should remove my negative reviews. I am being asked to take down my review first, then they will “do everything we can to make it right.” But no one has offered to return my original glasses to me and no one can explain why the pair that I received has crystals all over it. I want an explanation and solution before any consideration to change this review.

Not Disappointed Whatsoever ! ! !

Well, as I mentioned in an earlier review, I took a chance with this company and sent in my broken eyeglasses. This pair of glasses were very special to me but I could not find anyone locally that did this type of work. I was told several times that it was a lost art. Kinda like shoe repairing but you can still find a shop that still repairs shoes if your look hard enough.I figured I had nothing to loose since I couldn't get them repaired and it was something I couldn't do. Sent them in and hoped for the best. . .Well my faith was rewarded!Shortly after sending mailing them, I heard back from Eyeglassesdepot after they received my glasses with a quote for the repairs. (The piece that holds the two lenses together across the nose was broken.)I approved the amount and authorized them to proceed with the repairs. The turn-around time quoted seemed a bit long but accepted it thinking they had a good backlog which indicates how successful a company is.I was willing to wait my turn and just happy to find someone that still did this sort of work and was willing to wait. I really liked these glasses! Probably the most comfortable pair I've ever had. . . . EVER! ! !Anyway, the communications between myself and Eyeglassesdepot was excellent. I was informed of their progress right through the return shipping and the tracking number. The actual turn-around time was a lot shorter than originally quoted! Much to my surprise. I was expecting a boatload of excuses as to why they were late but never received one. THEY WERE EARLY ! ! !Overall, I am very pleased with this company and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone needing their glasses repaired. The workmanship is first class all the way. These people really know what they are doing. You can trust them to take care of your eyewear as if it were their own!

If I could leave NO stars

If I could leave NO stars, I would.Sent 2 pairs of Ray Bans in to be fixed- after no communication on their part, they finally respond with this" Sorry for the delay, but NYC just blew up and we cannot get to our factory". After their harrassing emails, texts and phone calls, I told them where to shove it but not before I filed a claim with the BBB. Now they tell me they lost my glasses. Looking into further means to shut down this SCAM of a business.

  • EyeglassesDepot.com started in 2007 as a new department of our retail designer eyeglasses and sunglasses business. Quickly we realized that our customers not only shop for new prescription lenses and new frames, they also ask us the popular question "Can this be fixed?". Tired of telling customers NO, we decided to explore the idea of repair rather then replacement. In late 2007 we remodeled the second floor of our office and hired the staff that today runs our laboratory. Our two lab technicians have combined over 17 years of expert experience in the field of optometry, eyewear repair and eyewear sales.See more
