Absolutely garbage..most days can't even make phone calls or receive them...internet speeds are comparable to 1989 speeds..and don't expect to hear a human voice from customer service..there is no customer service!! VIDEOTRON has a little scam with this company...indices new customers then steals their money...worst mistake I've ever made in choosing a phone provider...I can only imagine the people they screw over that have home plans...this company doesn't even deserve any stars but more so should be shut down by the fcc in which I plan to report them too...stay away from FIZZ MOBILE/VIDEOTRON....
If you're considering choosing or switching to Fizz Mobile, this review hopefully give you in-depth overview of the service, highlighting both its strengths and limitations. With the expansion of mobile options in Canada, we're finally seeing more competitions beyond the major players like Telus, Rogers, and Bell. Quebecor, along with its flanker brand Fizz, is one of the new kids on the block.I've been using Fizz for about nine months now, and recently activated the second one for a family member. Fizz was new to me so I did some research before making the switch. Fizz and the company behind Videotron Quebecor started their Canada wide expansion outside of Quebecor in the fall of 2023.Fizz do has several compelling features and that is why I made the switch to them.Flexible plans with no contractFizz offers a highly customizable plan structure, allowing you to pay only for the features you need, including data, texts, calls, and even coverage areas. Unlimited texts, minutes and voicemail are $2, $4 and $1 per month, respectively. Limiting your coverage to only within your local province could save you $3/month. You can get creative with your plan, opting for a data-only plan that's perfect for devices like tablets or smartwatches. Another great option is the ability to pay just $5 to keep your number active if you’re traveling for an extended period.Data RolloverUnused data rolls over to the next month, which is particularly useful if your data usage fluctuates. This feature allows me to stay on a lower data plan most months while still being able to stream high-demand content occasionally.Data GiftingFizz makes it easy to share unused data with others using just their phone number. This is a simple and cost-effective way to manage data needs within a family or group of friends, without the complexities or costs associated with other carriers' data sharing plans.Network signal strength & SpeedSignal strength often depends on your proximity to a cellular tower, regardless of your carrier. In my experience, Fizz’s network speed ranges from 30 Mbps to over 100 Mbps, which is comparable to other providers I’ve used, such as Koodo, Fido, and Freedom. Use Speedtest by Ookla is a practical and easy way to figure it out.As Quebecor acquired Freedom, Fizz leverages Freedom's infrastructure and extends coverage through partnerships with Rogers and other carriers, so checking the coverage map before switching is advisable.PromotionsAt the time of writing, Fizz is offering SIM cards for just $5. You can order online and it should arrive within a few days. Alternatively, you can get one at a local Circle K store. During the online activation process, using a referral code can earn you a $40 bonus towards your bill (credited after the 2nd month with Fizz).ActivationHere’s a quick guide to activating your Fizz plan. After logging in, click "Activate my SIM card" and follow the prompts to enter:- Home address- SIM card activation code (found on your SIM card with 6 characters)- Customize your plan (which be changed later)- Enter current phone number if you are porting an existing one over to Fizz or- Choose a new Phone Number (You’ll be given a few default numbers to choose from, with the option to refresh up to four times and find new sets of numbers. unfortunately, you can't go back to the earlier numbers after clicking refresh button. However, there is a workaround: log out of your account and log back in after 5 minutes. This will allow you to restart the activation process and refresh for new phone numbers again. If you prefer, you can pay $1 and enter the last 4-digit of a desired number, and Fizz can try to find a close match)- Enter Referral code (Be sure to enter one during the activation process, as it cannot be added later)Activation is quick—under a minute for a new number, and slightly longer if you’re porting an existing number. Once activated, simply insert your SIM card and you’ll be connected within a few minutes.Final ThoughtsI hope this review has provided you with valuable insights to help you decide if Fizz is the right choice for you. If you decide to join Fizz and do not have a referral code from a friend or a family member, consider using my referral code ZKZCF to get a bonus. Thanks for reading!
Absolutely garbage ever since it’s plugged into my house. I’ve had Vidéotron hélix for years now never had any issue with it. Recently switched to fizz and suddenly the wifi won’t work same cables mind you. It’s nearly impossible to get any assistance with customer service. I get that this is one of the reason why fizz is more abordable but it’s just ridiculous 2h wait time to simply talk to customer support is ludicrous. I’ll be switching to bell in a couple days I really do not recommend.
The worst. If you can't access your account, you cannot terminate your plan. I have been locked out my account for 2 months and even if I am moving out, they customer service (chat only) won't end my plan. I need to keep paying and bring the modem until they figure this out. How long will I pay a plan that is not in use ? 2 more months ? 6 more months ? This is just absolutely ridicoulous.
What a joke company.I had an appointment for internet installation. The technician didn't come. Then I made another appointment 1 week later and the technician didn't come again. Don't waste your time. I wasted 2 days at home waiting for the joke technician.
I don't recommended Fizz. I have been with them for approx 2 years. The only thing good is that is cheap, but the moment something is wrong, good luck trying to get a hold of someone. You have to type all your inquiries out as it's only communication through live chat. Their tech support is a joke. My account got hacked on August 17 two days before my payment was to come out I didn't have access to my account and the hacker made a purchase of an iphone 15. I was told by Fizz that I had to wait for their tech team to figure it out. I told them it was unacceptable as I only have 2 days to figure out how to get into my account and pay for my account so my number wouldnt get suspended. Their response, " you have to access your account to pay" and their tech team is working on it". I tried to find other solutions in order for me to pay for my account so it doesnt get suspended. This company does not know how to problem solve at all. By 12am on August 19 I had no phone. I had to go out and purchase a plan and sim card form another service provider and I had to get a temporary number as I cant get MY number that I've had for so many years as my account is now suspended with Fizz. If I would've listened to them I'd be 2 1/2 weeks without a phone because of their incompetence. They still havent figured out how to allow me access to my original account so I can update my payment method as I had to cancel my last payment method as it was hacked. Thanks to Fizz I'm now out $60 and counting and have no access to MY phone number and cant get it transferred over to another account because its suspended. They keep giving you the run around. Their support is absolute garbage. Fizz needs to train their staff properly. I dont understand how a company thinks that having someone go without a phone for weeks while their tech support tries to figure the situation out. Thanks to Fizz I now lost my phone number and cant retrieve it to switch to a different provider because, I have to access my account to pay in order to not have my account suspended, but yet I can't do that because it was hacked and they still cant figure out a solution.
I transferred My service and phone number to Fizz, and shortly after, someone else was sharing my number. All Fizz would do for me was advise me to buy a new sim card and change my number. Fizzed out.The situation has been rectified, satisfactorily.
I have been extremely impressed with Fizz mobile since joining this week.I am a British Citizen that just moved to Canada, and decided to go with Fizz mobile as they are a more affordable option (I pay $30 a month for my plan and the USA calling and data add on).If you want to save $35, join using my referral code below!3YYIT
I have been with Fizz for nearly 3 years. I have a mobile and wifi plan. I am pretty happy with the service! The things I love the most about their service (the pros):- Cheap options ($)- Able to customize my mobile plan each month. This is particularly awesome if you are a big traveller like me. While travelling for a few months, I was able to change my plan to the bare minimum (no text, no minutes, no data...) for the months I was away. I changed it back for the month I was coming back to Canada. It made me save some precious dollars. This is not possible with most other companies which don't offer such minimal plan to basically just keep your phone number activated while you travel abroad for multiple months. - 100% online- Their bonuses. The more you spend time with them, the more discounts you get. For example, I am at level 5. It gives me 5$ off my internet plan, 1$ off my mobile plan and 0.75 GB extra data a month. They also give one-time special bonuses like a 24h of unlimited data (quite useful if you spend a day on the road). - Able to give unused data to friends and family.- Rollover data. If you don't use all your data of the month, you'll be able to use it the following month. That is surprisingly helpful and makes me able to reduce the number of data I have on my plan because the extra data accumulates month after month. The cons:- You have to be comfortable doing everything online, though. This is the reason I haven't recommended it to my parents, because they are used to calling a phone number to get help. You can't do that with Fizz. But you can chat online for help. I have used the chat twice to fix a couple of issues. Both times they were able to help me.- The wifi seems to stop working from time to time. I am not sure why. It might not be the most reliable wifi service out there, but for my personal needs (I work from home and have online meetings) I think the money saved makes it worth it. So far, after nearly 3 years with them, that’s the pros and cons I see. I personally recommend it to all my friends that are minimally tech savvy. If you found this review useful and want to use their service, use my referral code: S51W6. You’ll save 40$ (until August 30th ; 25$ after that). The referral discount is activated after your first 2 months with them.
