My Greenworks Lawn mower works great for the 2 months I used it before winter began.I had received information when I purchased it that the batteries needed to be charged every 3 months if not used. Since I live in northern Vermont, it only is used 6 months per year. So, I charged the batteries at the end of February/beginning of March. One charged fine, showing 4 lights (charged) quickly. The second showed 4 lights quickly on the battery, but a light on the charger flashed red and then held on solid red. I called Customer Service (they were very nice and helpful) to report the issue. According to the Service Rep I need to keep the batteries in my house - not my garage, which, since I'm in Vermont, falls far below freezing many times during the winter - and below freezing temperatures can affect the batteries.I actually spoke with two Service Reps. The first said I should charge the batteries in above freezing temps. We were disconnected before we finished the conversation. The second Rep said to keep the batteries inside the house when it was freezing or below. Now I have to find somewhere inside my house to store the batteries and charger. It's a small house so that will be a pain.
Greenworks PRO 80V 20-Inch Brushless Cordless Snow Blower ThrowerThis product was great for the very short period that it actually worked. Upon receipt the battery provided would not last more than 15 minutes on a full charge. The battery was replaced promptly (great customer service there) with a battery that would actually hold a charge and allow the unit to be used. Here we are in mid February having had the unit for just over 2 months and used it about 10 times during this period.Had a pretty big snowfall yesterday Februrary 18th in Ontario (GTA) 15cm. And guess what! The unit will not turn on. Battery is fully charged and checked terminals with a meter (perfect). Unfortunately the switch (little safety button) that is depressed when pulling up the lever to start the snow blower does not engage properly. So the snow blower wont start.Looking at the manual here is the best part. One of the top items on the list is "The switch is defective" this strongly suggests this is a common and known issue with these products. Called for warranty and the unit has to go to an authorized service depot. Here is the best part. The nearest depot is over 50km away and only open during daytime hours. This is a 1 hour drive with no traffic (mid-day) taking time off work and have to hope for a repair at the same time or early morning or evening a 90 minute drive each way, plus waiting for the repair. So no option to ship the product, no option for some advanced replacement. How a 50km range is "within region" is baffling to me.Needless to say having to take an entire day off work and drive 110KM and hope for a same day repair or take a 2nd day off work is a non-starter.So this snow blower will be tossed in the trash (unfortunate wasted investment) since I stand to lose more than it is worth getting it serviced and I guess I will buy something from a more reputable brand for next season. In any case buyer beware. These are clearly known to fail and there is no proactive method of service such as shipping replacement parts for the defective components.
If I could I wouldn’t even give them that! What a pain in the butt their costumer service,..and on top of it they tried to scam me as well …the AI chat starting out quite promising untill she told me to hang on for a few minutes while she went to get a Technician… but in the meantime to fill out this form with a 5.00 refundable fee. Well the next thing I knew chase texted me a fraud alert that thiis company had tried charging me 65.00 !! Thank God for chase and their fraud team..!I’ve tried contacting them but to no avail..Ive purchase so many lawn tools from them and this is how they treat their customers?.Bag them ,…
I just ordered and recieved a l24v 8ah battery. Out of the box it would not take a charge. It eas extreamly discharged at 19 Volts with likely cell damage, reduced capacity and life expectancy from being in a discharged state for a lengthy period. Research found they may be cleaning out old shelf stock sending me an old battery and the model is no longer offered. After sending 2 very polite emails and no response i find they blocked my email address and my emails are returned. Customer wont listen to my knowledge and concerns and wants me to buy a new charger, there is nothing wrong with my charger. I AM OUT $186.00! In my experience GeenWorks Tools is a SCAMY business with no customer or ethical standards. BBB and other websites like this are loaded complaints. Buy somewhere else or take your chances with this shady and scam business.
Hi I recently got a greenworks mower its quite a few years old but still in amazing condition the batterys are still in brilliant working condition and the mower is amazing when I got it though I was missing the side shoot and the mulching plug so I contacted Greenworks and got a reply the next day saying that the parts I need aren't on the website for sale but as a token of gesture they would send me the parts out free of charge I couldn't believe it and as the promised within a week or so the parts arrived what can I say an amazing company selling amazing tools this greenworks lawnmower is so much better than my petrol mower brilliant 👏 thank you greenworks Gianluigi
I purchased a 80v refurbished battery on sep 14 2025 for $120..by Jan 30 2026, the battery would no longer charge. I obviously called customer service...I was told it has 90 day warranty...I told her I was 30 days over, can something be done...I would have been satisfied with a discount on a new battery...Her reply...is there something else I can help you with....She didn't even acknowledge what I had mentioned...To all considering Greenworks product...be warned...
I've had decent success with their products but their customer service is dismal at best. Fedex is the shipping carrier they use and their delivery service is rife with problems. Greenworks customer service is worthless as far as helping with lost packages. "It's out of our hands" is their customary answer.
A couple of terrible experiences with their customer service. First, they charged and sent me items I did not order. When I called to return they have a terrible return policy where customers are responsible to pay high costs of return shipping when it was their mistake. Customer service was rude and blames the customer.Second experience was when their lawn mover broke down. It just refused to start although I purchased and switched out multiple batteries. I called customer service, got hung up on multiple times. The interaction with each agent was inconsistent in requesting tons of information about me and the product ( I called in for my dad who doesn't speak much English). They wanted all the serial numbers of the lawn mower, the various batteries, then they want to troubleshoot everything with you (to make matters worse) before they will even move forward with a solution (if they actually do). They may even make you drop off the item for repair but they won't help you unless you go through all their numerous steps in order for the product to meet their warranty requirements. Why not just trust your customer, offer to send the product back, and check it for the product defect issue? A huge waste of time and trust. Buy from a different company if you can! This company does not take care of their loyal customers.
I thought I did my do diligence in checking reviews of the company Greenworks. They did not allow for an extended period of time ( past the 30days) during Christmas even though an email conversation had started on Dec 29th to inquire about a return. They just told me today that a return label would not be issued. I got the impression that they would find any excuse NOT to accept a return/refund.
