Mallorca Hertz. Quick and efficient. The front desk was a great help. Really easy pick up and even easier drop off. I booked through booking.com but would go direct next time. Other family members went with Roig. They were a little cheaper but pick up and drop off was away from arrivals.
WARNING: Do not use this company. Extremely dissatisfied with the cynical methods used by Hertz to extract revenue from customers. Rented a vehicle from Santiago de Compostela airport in Spain and have since been charged an additional €495 for damage. Ludicrous on many levels, namely: inaccuracies on their own documents, charged for pre-existing damage and a mark invisible to the naked eye. I suspect that any customer who does not take out Hertz full cover will be susceptible to this type of devious conduct – they will be expected to claim the money back from their excess reimbursement insurance – as much was said by an agent at the Hertz office. A company operating in a highly competitive industry would do better than mistreating loyal, returning customers. Highly frustrated by the time spent trying to resolve this and will be seeking compensation. I am sure Enterprise would do better and I shall be using them from now on.
Rented a car from them for a week whilst away.Claiming car was returned with 0 fuel and haven't refunded the deposit.Absolutely disgusting. Attendant at the airport confirmed all was fine when we left. It wasn't till we checked the bank seeing our money hadn't been refunded which made us check the receipt we noticed we had been charged for petrol!We rented the car FULL of petrol. The receipt confirm how many miles we did. The amount of miles we did would only use half a tank of petrol for this vehicle so this itself just shows that it is utter lies.We are still awaiting a response for our money back. Would never use this company again nor recommend to anyone. Have never had any issues with any other rental companies.Poor customer service.
Hertz Spain is beyond repair! At the end of May, we rented a car at Seville airport (for 7 days). The gps was "voice less" and had not been updated. As a result, mid-June, Fine Cover Hertz contacted me to pay a ticket for driving in Granada traffic restricted zone. I immediately paid. However, three weeks later, Hertz charged my credit card. Double whammy! After a month of unsuccessful wrangling with Hertz consumer relations, I disputed the charge. Amex got a refund in 5 days. Don' t waste your time with Hertz, bring the matter to the card people.
On August 3, 2023 at 2:30pm I rented a car from Hertz in Malaga, Spain and before we drove out the parking garage, I took a video of a scratch on the front fender near the right tire. My flight out was at 6 am two days later and I returned the vehicle before hertz offices were opened and dropped the keys. During my layover in Paris I got an email saying that the vehicle had a scratch caused by me during the rental period. When I arrived home I got photos from hertz pointing at the same scratch I had videotaped and brought to their attention. I sent the video to them but they totally refused to accept my very clear evidence. It is broad day robbery. They are stealing $395.57 for scratches I never caused. I feel very violated and makes me sad that people can be that dishonest.
CRIMINALS ON THE LOOSE Thought criminals are only on the streets -think again - they are at Hertz. I have rented vehicles for over 35 years and, sure, there were a few minor incidents, but my experience with Hertz is absolutely the worse I have ever had to live through. You would think that by taking all the precautions that you can think about, like taking pictures and videos when returning your car are sufficient to demonstrate your car has been returned without a problem..... no, guess again, Hertz has a way to keep your deposit. When I returned the car in perfect conditions Hertz claimed the car had a ding on the door that cost them $500 to fix. When I asked for proof, they send me a Photoshopped picture that had a few wiggly lines that supposedly demonstrated "damage to the vehicle". Note that this supposed damage could not be detected by neither by our eyes, or the pictures and videos we took on return . WHAT A FARCE!!! So, good luck trying to find a phone number where you can call to have someone seriously address your problem because they DO NOT have one. Their call center promises to call back, but they never do. Hands down, the WORSE rental experience I have had in over 35 years. Hertz- NEVER AGAIN!!
Pick up - Agent pushing for an upgrade iwth every customer in line. Once I declined upgrade, gave me a carbelow the category I confirmed. I did not want to argue, long flight and early morning. Car had a scratch on it, identified, ran fine during the week. Returned the car before opening hours, 7AM, 30 minutes later I get a notice for damage and charged 290 Euro + 50 admin. The evidence shows a small suitcase mark, which you could rub off. Contacted Hertz to dispute, no refund for the lower category and standard the charges are as is. I rent often, never experienced service like this
Updated to three stars because they gave me a refund after I actually went back there and showed them their error. Shouldn’t have needed to though. Original review below was one star. Rented from Hertz Valencia. Massive queues when returning the vehicle. Waited for ten minutes and then at suggestion of the staff, dropped off key. Just received a bill that includes BOTH an extra day AND a late drop of charge. Have tried calling them on numerous occasion during rental -they NEVER pick up the phone. AVOID THIS COMPANY!! It’s not the same as it used to be
When booking Vueling flight tickets to Bilbao I also booked car rental for 12 days through Vueling Cars supplied by Hertz. What I received from Vueling Cars was a car hire voucher from CarTrawler. I presented the voucher at pick-up of the car at the Hertz rental desk in Bilbao Airport. The staff member started the registration and mentioned that the car was without damage and with a full tank. I was then asked to sign and put my initials 3 places on a paper in Spanish not much larger then a normal receipt. This turned out to be the contract. I looked at the numbers and the final line said EUR 462.00 and my voucher said EUR 462.54. I thought everything was fine and the difference a matter of rounding of the amount. The next day I became in doubt and used Google Translate to understand the receipt/contract. I now became aware that the staff member had me accepted "Super Cover/Super Cobertura" and "Fuel Purchase Option/Tanque Combustible" as additional products with 2 of my initials. This added EUR 462.00 to my bill and was not my voucher of EUR 462.54. By my 3rd initial I had declined "Personal Insurance/Seguro Personal", which I was never offered. We had spent the night in Bilbao so the next day I decided to drive back to Bilbao Airport to complain about the additional products, which I was charged but never verbally explained or offered. The staff member was not at work but I was told by another staff member that a contract was a contract but I could write Hertz Customer Relations España. I wrote my compliant 06-07-2023 and the case was closed by Hertz 11-08-2023 without approving my complaint. These were the final words by Hertz: "Thank you for contacting us. I have carefully reviewed all the details of this case, and can confirm that you have been charged in accordance with the supporting documentation provided. With this in mind, no adjustment may be made to the super cover insurance accepted in the contract.We now consider this case closed. We have inform you that no further investigation into the matter will be made."By the way I returned the car after the 12 days rental without damage.
