Very poor response to our resent flood…

Very poor response to our resent flood claim…absolutely appalling service.. just read the riot act about exclusions before they really know what the problem is, to be honest still in shock about the response I received today…registered a formal complaint and will contact the regulators on Monday…all after a premium increase at renewal on their premier coverage

Very slow turnaround, no urgency

Kitchen ceiling fell through due to an unkown leak in bathroom, on may 23rd lots of damage. We are now on Aug 15th and they still haven't done the work, timescales are horrific, they've had to move me out I have a baby under 1, I'm living out of cardboard boxes. The contractors they use are rude and make you feel like a nuisance when you call. Spoke to them yesterday and they are now saying the contractors lead time they can't start until October, bare in mind my property isn't habitable. I'm so angry, do not recommend.

Computer says no!!

Computer says no. No point paying years into this policy for content insurance, try to make one claim (complete accident beyond my control) and computer says no. Waste of time and money.

TOTAL INCOMPETENCE, AVOID USING AT ALL COSTS

I’ve had a subsidence claim ongoing for 5 years. Their assessment of the building not requiring underpinning, as it was longer moving was incorrect. Consequently it has cracked again in the exact same places and an independent engineer stated that the structural work DOES needs underpinning. They expect me to have the same structural engineer and building firm that were incompetent the first time, to be trusted to carry out remedial works!! 😡 They damaged my stone floor when they failed to protect it when they dropped the ceiling, I had to go to the Ombudsman for them to accept responsibility for resolving the damp that has occurred due to a mains water leak under my floor. I need to move due to ill health and disability. I’m now in financial ruin as I can no longer afford to live here, but I can’t change my circumstances and sell until the work is complete, I am now isolated, unable to socialise with friends due to a house I can’t afford to live in, I’m in year 5 and loosing my mind! I have lost out on selling my house at the peak price during lock down and saving on the tax of a new property because of unacceptable delays, despite me repeatedly telling them about the impact on me. The impact on my health as the stress of constant chasing and trying to get issues resolved and frequent unnecessary delays has been hideous. At one point as nobody was responding to my calls and emails I had to Google the Commercial Director of the Lloyds group, to resolve my complaint. As this was outside of their timeline for responding to complaints, rather than apologies, she raised the outstanding points as new complaints. I just want an end to it, for this to be resolved, so I can start to repair my life, but yet again I’m waiting for them to resolve my complaint to have a competent engineer and building firm to undertake the work that now has to be redone due to their subcontractors failures at every stage of the process.

Apalling Experience

Absolutely shocked at the aggressive and negative approach the Halifax took over our claim, the clinical tone of the advisor and the complete resistence to any part of the claim was truely apalling!! The Halifax made me feel like a criminal for considering a claim & were only willing to talk about the many exclusions in our policy, the advisor was very condescending! We have been loyal paying customers over 15 years and I feel totally let down and very disappointed at our extremely poor treatment! What a complete waste of loyalty and money spent over the years. Shame on you!

Awful company

Awful company. Will never use again, would definitely not recommend. Paid premiums, faultlessly for years, first time I try and claim, genuinely, they throw it out. Absolutely useless and incompetent company, ripping people off, not paying claims, avoid at all costs 😡

I made a claim for subsidence ,was…

I made a claim for subsidence ,was shoved to a group called the Innovation who were supposedly handling my claim . I’ve had numerous problems with that company - their late / nil respite my problems , maltreatment & almost brushing off of my concerns re their work re my claim , I have at all stages contacted Halifax re my issues but each time I’ve been told the Halifax were not dealing with the claim , I was told to contact the Innovation group who appeared uninterested and basically casual in all my dealings with them . The 3rd part of my horror story was when the Innovation group finally claimed all the repairs due to those outside of my house had been completed. The horror was in a company called the Trilogy group who were picked by the Innovation group to do internal repairs to my house . The Trilogy sent workmen to my house , furniture was moved to make room for work planned etc then they started work on 1 bedroom, the whole house was upside down as we’d tried to enable the workmen to work without disturbances . They worked for approximately 2 weeks on 1 room & hallway then vanished for 3 weeks no explanation, no contact etc . I was calling their offices 1-5 times daily leaving messages -nil response . I called their offices Halifax who told me again to contact the Innovation group as in their words my claim was in the innovation groups hands . I emailed & called their offices Halifax contact guy at the innovation group who wasn’t very helpful. Their attitude felt very racist and almost dismissive as though the 1) couldn’t be bothered & 2) couldn’t care . My son &I stayed in the house with furniture, bags etc moved etc till the December 08 when we left to go abroad . There had been no word re the Trilogy workmen stoppage up to this time . The Innovation guy had replied my email with “ looking into it “ . Mid December I got an email re work restarting , no apologies whatsoever from Trilogy & Innovation group . The Trilogy men restarted work December 18 circa , they damaged my central heating did a very amateur job of decorating, very messy work . My son returned home on the 02/01/2025 . The heating was faulty , the house was upside down , this far only 2 bedrooms & hallway were completed ( messy )He had to live in that mess for some time . I was in communication with Trilogy & complained to Innovation group & Halifax also .The work done was below standard , they cut severe corners , I reported to Trilogy & am now waiting for a guy from The Innovation group to come review work again even though picture taken & sent by Trilogy guy . The house has many cracks reforming - a Mr S S from Innovation has said they’re just hairline cracks and nothing much .He is the one who’s coming in person to view areas of concern at my insisting he comes . Halifax home insurance is a huge gamble . I feel they’ve taken my money but basically left me out dry re my claim .

Poor communication unhelpful and do…

This must be the worst insurance company on earth Poor communication unhelpful and do anything to get out of paying your claim....My upstairs bedroom window was open and caught by hurricane wind in January and crashed down into garden luckily no one injured. I sent countless pictures of broken window as needed a full replacement ....they tried to find a way to put the blame on anyone else so claim wasn't paid even the carpet fitters who were working in the room window fell from had to supply written info around what happened ...they email you from an account you can't reply to and when calling them it took on average 20-40 mins to get through.....plus I was unaware I had a £500 excess on the policy....daylight robbery. I've been a longstanding customer of the Halifax but no more when renewal comes in...totally disgusted at the way customers are treated so think twice before getting involved with them....wish I had checked reviews....AVOID AVOID AVOID
