Dreadful build quality and customer service - I purchased a Hoda Civic 1.0 Sr in March 2018. After 3 and 1/2 uneventful years of motoring my vehicle had a total Engine and turbo failure in December 2021. The vehicle had travelled 55,000 miles and had been fully serviced by Honda technicians as part of a 5 year service plan I purchased with the vehicle. Honda agreed to cover the cost of the repairs due to the fact the issue with the "wet belt" system Honda use on this vehicle was well known to them. Although, even though they were aware of this issue, NO product recall was issued for modifications to be carried out for the issue. It has now been over 2 months since the car was recovered to my local Honda dealership and I am still waiting for parts to be made available for the repair. All correspondence has been initiated by myself, today I have been informed that Honda are only making 5 units available for repairs to be carried out. My vehicle is currently 169th (Yes 169th!!!) In the queue!! Which makes it a further 34 week lead time for the parts to delivered. This would mean that my vehicle will be out of service for almost a year!! Honda have no interest in doing anything else to help me with this issue. I have NO Confidence in the vehicle anymore and would like it repaired, replaced or purchased off me. My vehicle is deprecating month after month, I cannot sell or part exchange the vehicle until this issue has been rectified. I Would STRONGLY advise EVERYONE to stay clear of ANY Honda using this tye of engine, if you have an issue DONT Exepect a lot of help from Honda. Very disappointed with both Build quality, lack of recall for known issue and Non existant customer service.
This is a genuine review i have photos and emails to back it up. Car has had 4 emission sensors +2 batteries when Honda customer services got involved they said car was fixed problem would not return about a month later problem returned was told it was our fault down to usage . both answers cannot be true cannot get in touch with customer services because do not acknowledge emails and have to go through call centre to get to person dealing with case. wanted to talk to technician to explain why and ask my own questions but didn't acknowledge the email. Took out this extended warranty, 4 months later a noise from the front of my Jazz meant a new CVT unit. Warranty had a £14,000 limit on claims. Fine I thought until I was told it would cost £15,800 meaning they wanted me to pay £1800 towards the replacement and fit. £15,800 is 79% of the cost of a new Jazz with CVT! I was forced to put the car into auction and buy another car. No surprises that this is not a Honda. I can only say that I believe these warranties are an absolute rip off.
Enquired on 23, 29 and 30 December via the chat line regarding a vehicle but the Reading franchise have still not bothered to contact me. Needless to say that I am not interested now and would not have bothered to contact the garage at all having now read the other posted comments on customer service. Poor show alround.
After 40 years of buying Honda products - cars, motorbikes, garden machinery I will never buy another Honda product. Not only has the quality of all products gone way down but their so-called “Customer Service” is the most arrogant and unhelpful I have encountered. The 5 year warranty on my Miimo robot lawnmower is worthless since they find every excuse to avoid it, and that is after the Honda repair outlet says that it should because bearings in a 2 year old machine should not wear out. I could list numerous aspects of poor manufacture/customer management/outrageous pricing etc. but suffice to say that this loyal customer will never buy their products again and their senior management is not even bothered by that.
We updated our Honda last week, we had had our existing car for 9 years and always been happy with the car and after service we had received, my husband just decided he wanted a "red car". We are now the proud owners of a second hand, 3 year's old red Civic Hatchback. We would like to say thank you to Bobby Lally the salesman who helped in this purchase. From the first time we say him on the forecourt on 15th November to when we picked up our car on the 19th he was a delight to do business with. Always friendly, helpful and went out of his way to give us an excellent service and very pleasurable experience. He advised us in a professional way but, at the same time, listened to what we wanted which, in our experience is quite unusual, treating customers in the way they should be, never "pushy"! We would be very happy to do business with him again in 3 years if we decide this is the road we are going down so you better "hang on in there" Bobby and don't get moving on! we might need you again!
