Update to my review. After my terrible experience at iFly O2. I phoned customer service to complain and suggest they refund some of the £280 I paid. I ended up speaking to the same Manager at the O2. I think he finally understands my point about this not being value for money. He didn’t get that to ask parents mid 1 minute flight for an extra £20 to go up high for 6 seconds was emotional blackmail. He offered me 2 free flights as a gesture of good will. But I would still have to pay the extra £20 for the 6 second high flight. So that would be £80 for 4 high flights within the 1 minute of flying time. 2x 1 minute per flight, so 4 in total. Cheaper than £280, but still not value for money or a good experience. I don’t want to support iFly so don’t plan to use these free flights. Please don’t waste your money with iFly. Their pricing policy and attitude stinks. The experience is lame. There are so many good things to take your children to. iFly is NOT one of them.
I was petrified! The staff from reception desk to the instructors were really encouraging. The pre videos and instructor pre flight chat help you to understand what to expect. Craig was a great instructor. He helped me to feel relaxed and confident to fly. So much so I opted for the high fly which was awesome. I think it's worth the money.
I was apprehensive but my instructor Craig at Basingstoke made me feel at ease. I felt a bit embarrassed when I had a wobble and grabbed on to him but he made sure I finished on a positive note. This is definitely an experience to add to anyone’s list to try.
First, I find the 1 star reviews hilarious. "I didn't read the details or engage at all with the experience and it's definitely someone else's fault". Ignore them, iFly is amazing. It costs money to run a ginormous fan, provide kit and pay experienced instructors. You're buying an experience, not a Gregg's sausage roll.that said, had an amazing flight with Craig at the O2. The process up until that flight was clear, the comms were great and even sent reminders. Arrival was friendly and efficient. We got suited up and felt very confident in the instruction and what was to happen. The flight itself was amazing. Craig worked extra hard to ensure everyone felt they had done a brilliant job (even if we were all over the place). Everyone clapped and cheered as everyone else came out of the tunnel. Great experience, great guide. Highly recommended. Best bit is, I can now rest relatively peacefully knowing I can probably look in control / cool if I was thrown out of a plane. May not last long, but you can't have everything.
This is a scam. We took our five year old son and it only included one go, the instructor asked him directly if he wanted to go again and again (costing £20 per time) and he was in tears when we had to say no. It ruined our day. After saving up for the experience we were left feeling like the bad guys for not paying more and more. They were out of order for asking our son if he wanted to go again when it wasn't included in the price. Avoid avoid avoid.
