Thank you Jack@iFly Basingstoke

Thank you Jack@iFly Basingstoke. I had the experience given as a birthday gift. I was a little nervous 'pre-flight' but we were clearly in great hands with Jack! I had aVR flight as part of the experience which was fun. I also opted in for one high flight for an extra £10 & just giggled like a nutter all the way up & down. Loved it so much we've bought a voucher for our son's Xmas pressie!

Terrible company and a total scam

I purchased Family Indoor Skydiving last year. I called directly iFly to book tickets but I was advised that there is something wrong with my voucher so, I had to contact Buy a Gift regarding my voucher. Family Indoor Skydiving voucher is valid until 7th November 2023. When I contacted Buy a Gift I was advised that iFly no longer accept my voucher. I was unable to book prepaid experience due to iFly greediness. I was told if I still want to book this experience I am expected to pay difference in price as my voucher no longer cover the full costs what I have already done when I initially booked this experience. I asked for a full refund but the customer service at Buy a Gift declined it. The whole family was looking forward to it but the provider iFly only cares about ripping people off. I would NOT recommend buying a voucher for this experience nor booking it with iFLy. The voucher should be honoured for this activity especially as it is still in date.

Badly organised. Awful experience.

My 15 year old son was booked in for 2 flights at Milton Keynes. We arrived in plenty of time and were told to return half an hour before the flight for the briefing etc. which we did. This took 10 minutes including putting on the overalls, safety equipment etc. The instructor then sent us all to where the flights were taking place where we then sat for half an hour as that session ran over by 15 minutes. In the meantime my son was complaining how tight the helmet was. I offered to loosen it but he said the instructor had put it on him and that he had said it needed to be tight so it didn't come off. His session then started, however, there was a dad and a son who had booked 10 minute sessions each so they started with 2 minutes each, then one of the other participants had a 1 minute session, then it went back to the dad and son, who had another 2 minutes each and so on, so my son was waiting 14 minutes (in addition to the half hour before the session started due to the last one finishing late) before he got to try his first flight. He went in for the flight, the instructor went to do the additional bit with him where they fly up to the top and then suddenly he just pulled him out and finished the flight. We couldn't see that he had done anything wrong and my son looked completely shocked to be pulled out like that (bearing in mind, the boy doing the flights with his dad had been all over the place and yet the instructor still took him up to the top). He then asked the instructor to let him out and left the chamber. He told us he was in so much pain from how tight the helmet was and had been in agony waiting for his go. The only time he felt ok was in the chamber flying and he said he thought he was following the instructors instructions and couldn't understand why he'd been pulled out. When we took the hat and googles of him, there was a severe indentation around the back of his head where it had been, which was still there when we got home that evening (6 hours after the flight). This experience has totally put him off sky-diving or trying anything similar again. The instructor only did a 10 minute briefing with them all and then they had to sit in a room and wait for half an hour. If they had spare time, why didn't he check their equipment was on properly? My son asked him whether a different item was on properly and I saw the instructor say it was fine and he wasn't even looking at him. Was he just in a rush to eat his lunch? And to make everyone wait whilst the dad and son kept having their 4 minute slots was ridiculous. They should have had their own time slot. There were two younger boys in there waiting, one of which was in tears so it wasn't just my son who didn't enjoy the experience. I am so disappointed and wouldn't recommend this at all. You do not end up peacefully floating around like it shows you on the video. Most of the people we saw (the group before was huge) were bouncing off the sides or flipping over. Absolute rubbish. Don't waste your money.

Haven't gone yet and I am already very…

Haven't gone yet and I am already very annoyed. :(To keep it short I am super annoyed at this company's principles. It's an expensive activity but as always they ask for a booking fee. I am used to that but still feel it's pretty cheeky. But whatever. What actually made me mad is that AFTER you have paid they make you sign a waiver basically saying you are happy for them to use any images and "likeness" of you in any way they want. Without that you can't go to the activity. It's such a scammy policy. Here is the paragraph for those who want to read what you agree to before paying:"iFLY UK routinely takes photographs & videos, as well as CCTV, in the legitimate interests of both iFLY UK and customers. As such, customers may be identifiable in these images and videos. I understand that iFLY UK will release such images depicting me (including without limitation, use of my face, likeness and voice) for the purpose of purchasing photographs and videos on the iFLY UK website and on media kiosks located within the iFLY building.iFLY UK shall at all times exclusively own all rights and title in any such photographs and videos. I understand that iFLY will seek prior consent should any images or videos depicting me (or the Participant, if different) be used for marketing and promotional purposes by iFLY UK. I further understand that if I do not wish for iFLY to release images or videos depicting me to the iFLY UK website and media kiosks, I can request this with the iFLY reception team either before or shortly after my experience."Reply to your reply: Yep you’re saying it’s for marketing purposes and that’s exactly what annoyed me, and I think it’s unethical to mention this after ticket is purchased and we’re unable to cancel.

Absolute scam

We purchased vouchers from Virgin Experience for £69.99 for x2 flights for two kids. I am still in shock, we travelled to Manchester from Scotland for the kids to have about 30 seconds in the chamber. My son got a fright as his face was too close to the ground and he wanted out, he was not allowed to go again. So, after 30 seconds that was it done. They were held close to the ground the whole time, too many people in the group. After each group member, a couple would enter and spend time doing flips etc in there which wasted alot of time. Hours spent checking in, safety chats, watching pros enjoying it while the paying customers just sat around. Spent £140 for the kids to only have a few seconds in. Will never return. Would NOT recommend this complete rip off. The extra £10 to go slightly up is a massive scam

Thanks Zac @ Basingstoke!

The family had a great experience! Zac at Basingstoke was a fantastic instructor. However, it is very expensive. They do offer discounts on repeat visits.... but still pricey. We will be back - but not as often as we'd like due to the money.

Terrible company and customer service

Ifly cancelled our booking due to them having staff shortages. We requested a refund as we were in London for a family holiday and not from England. The staff said this was not their policy to refund and we could visit another venue or time. This I could understand had we cancelled, but Ifly cancelled the booking due to a company issue, and as a result we were to receive no refund! Requested to speak to a manager and I was told it would be up to 5 days for a call back.....5 days for a supervisor on the floor to call me back. An absolute disgusting level of customer service, a company that takes your money and runs and blames the customer for company failings!

Family loved it but pricing is…

Family loved it but pricing is ridiculous. £10 extra for 5 sec higher flying, a total of £60 + £45 for vids and photos making it a £350 experience for 6 mins in the air. crazy price for the experience.

Disappointing We took 5 grandchildren over half term…

We took 5 grandchildren over half term to I FLY in Basingstoke as their birthday presents. I wish I had read the trust pilot reviews as we would agree it was very poor value for money. We paid £256.00 as we had to book in advance to secure a date for them all to come. I said they could have 1 trip up the wind tunnel which was another £50 and for two flights at less than a minute each it was a total rip off. Too many people per session, management fault, not the staff instructing. Each flight should be 2 minutes long for the children to get to enjoy the experience, it was fun but just far too short. We will not be going back.
