Walking in Diesel but they are not interested.

I sent the following to Irish Ferries on the 25th June. I had an email response that I would be contacted within 48hours . I am still awaiting! I would like to complain about our trip on the Isle of Inishmore this morning. We are on the ship as I write this email. We were directed onto the port side of the lower deck & close to the front of the vessel. On opening the car door there was a very unpleasant smell of diesel. We then had to walk over the deck floor which was wet with oily diesel. Our shoes continue to smell of it now. It was/is extremely unpleasant. To add to this the crossing was 50 minutes late in perfect weather conditions. I am a long term customer of Irish Ferries but I am very disappointed today.

We liked our stay at the club class…

We liked our stay at the club class lounge on your ship Oscar Wilde on our way from Dover to Calais 31.12. We appreciated the service from Stefan boya….He was very helpful and a delight to have around.

Reasonable trip in tough times…

We were on the same ferry as some who had a bad time and have complained about their journeys. Holyhead closed - major issue for customers and for Irish Ferries - but no one’s fault. Strong winds causing delays (Sunday 22nd) certainly not Irish Ferries fault. And, so, the journey. From Pembroke to Rosslare (rather than Holyhead/Dublin). Yes times moved about, messages were sometimes late coming, things were a bit chaotic. Yes Irish Ferries management could have done a better job to endure left hand/right hand were more in touch in some places. However Irish Ferries staff “on the ground” were - without exception - as cheerful and helpful as anyone customer service reps we’ve travelled with. Despite crowded decks and (thankfully few) stroppy people they remained calm & helpful. Travelling with small kids can’t have been great - it rarely is - but for any able adults it was just a slightly difficult journey - it’s life. And you’re home for Christmas. I’ll also say that most customers were cheerful too with only a few exceptions (some of whom are obviously sharing their views).

One of the worst travel experiences…

One of the worst travel experiences ever. Tines and places changed four times. Turned up at the final departure port and poor staff had no idea what to do with me or the hundreds of other people. Had to queue for over an hour to get tickets changed. Finally on board, set off late. Currently 14 hours into this nightmare and stuck on the stairs. Apparently they can't open both rams and are desperately trying to ory something. Can't believe I have to do a return trip with them.

If you can only imagine the worst ferry…

If you can only imagine the worst ferry company and customer service this is Irish Ferries. Delay 20hrs changing my holiday completly, customer service did not exist also. Avoid! Saving some money when booking with them is not worth it.

Your formula fed infant is going to starve

Do not travel if you have an infant relying on formula or pumped milk - as your baby is going to starve or risk consuming unsafe water! I was refused to have my baby's formula refrigerated! Apparently they can only refrigerate medicine. When I asked if they can boil my bottled water, again they couldn't help. When I said that surely they have a kettle somewhere on the boat, I was told that they don't have one...They only have the water boilers, but that water is from a tank, of unknown content and also it doesn't go to boiling point - which is necessary to treat an infant water. The sailing is delayed by 16 hours. We are stuck on the boat for 48 hours without a safe food source for my baby and I don't know what to do?!!

Horrible experience

We bought a ticket from Dublin to Cherbourg (18 hours trip) with cabin 3 weeks before sailing. We got an email on the sailing day morning that they swap the boat and we can’t get our paid cabin for that long way. We called them and they didn’t understand what is our problem because we can change the date or we can set sail in time without cabin. Also they said they priorites to give the cabins people with kids. We had to go in that day because we had another ferry booking what we needed to catch so it seemed no choice. Than before 1 hour to check in we got another email that the ferry will late 7 hours. In the end we cancelled the trip with them and needed to book in other ferry company for much higher price as if we just buy 3 weeks earlier. Save your time and peace and use other companies. Irish Ferries is the cheapest for a reason. They are absolutely unprofessional.

Give these guys a wide birth.

To say this company is comical is in itself the joke. Starting by diverting my ferry from Holyhead to Pembroke because of an incident that never came to light, to telling me a sailing time that changed three times all the while getting messages to say the ferry was sailing on time and then changing moments before even though staff had already confirmed the actual sailing time, to then making me sit on a ferry for 7.5 hours and ultimately costing me well over £500.00 in lost hotels that I couldn't use. The ship was horrible from Pembroke and the club class lounge was anything but. The constant changes from the Captain suggested all wasn't plain sailing as his story changed from unloading, to loading and the staff wouldn't share to whom a complaint could be made. I have to give one star but I wouldn't if I didn't have to because in future I will be using Stena.

will never use this company again

will never use this company again, was told , not asked not given any chance to even say no, when man took my luggage out of my hand to put on truck to ferry from Hollyhead yesterday and had no chance to lock . I had a bad feeling proved right. when I took my luggage off belt on other end , my pink microsoftword laptop worth £2,000 was gone out of the case. as I could not prove it I knew there would be absolytly no point to report it. but I wnt the person to know that I know and that he will be dealt with by GOD.
