Mears Company used by Eastbourne Boro' Council to carry out repairs to leaseholder properties and social housing properties. They charged for work they had not even done. Their bill for work was shot full of errors and over-charging. But I disputed the bill for THREE years - they didn't get away with it. However, EBC continue to use them.
I am so glad the London borough of Lambeth Council has finally decided not to renew MEARS SERVICES. That was the best news so far for me in 2021.After making 4 different complaints to Lambeth Council in a space of 3months about MEARS SERVICES and their unprofessionalism, Rude, Disgraceful and Appalling behaviour . Oh! I was ecstatic when the news came that Mears lost their contract renewal with Lambeth. Amazing News!! Other Boroughs need to follow suit and do same. No Organisation in this era should treat TENANTS like disposable wipes. We pay for the services they provide not the other way round.
Would give 0 stars if i can spoke to cameron and leanne out of hours tower hamlets emergency team absolute joke My heater was not turning off and making a loud banging noise i have a autistic child and they go its not a emergency mears should be banned absolute waste of space
I am a Leeds city council tenant, I have had to move out of my home for a week to have repair done to my living room ceiling which was to re- board and skim. And returned home to find the plastering not acceptable, and now being asked to leave my home again so it can be rectified.it’s a joke the plaster has waves, cuts it’s disgusting. I wish I could upload a picture on here to show how bad it is. Mears you should be ashamed of the workmanship you are providing.
absolutely disgusting service, they are totally uncaring in there work practices, i am a dover council tenant and have been locked inside my property now for 6 hours with no means of escape as the lock on my front door is broken, i live in a 1st floor flat, all they say is you are on a 4 hour call out, so a fire cannot start in 4 hours, this is a total breech of health and safety at the highest level, so far they are 2 hours late in coming out, pandemic or not this kind of incident should be sorted asap, because if there was a fire they would then have a manslaughter case against them.
Terrible company just had heating engineer out he was here literally five minutes at propertysaid boiler fixed he rushed of still no heating and it’s minus 3 outside called mears back they said will have to put through as another job and won’t be back today total cowboys in my eyes engineer didnt even check heating was fully operational just cleared of how can they justify this service to local council beggars belief
No stars, cut to the chase, Having worked in the plumbing & heating industry for 30 plus years and still value every customer acquired over the years as my name is on my business.These Unorganised, clueless & unprofessional outfit should not be in customer service.., period.1 Boiler breaks down 2 No HTG /HW3 Gas inlet capped due leak4 Job gets raised 9:30 am5 4 - 24hrs to attend 6 8pm Eng attends Out of Hours7 cannot do anything out of Hours.8 Says Job held back in office til 5pm9 Offers 2 heaters10 I tell him to F——O—-.11 I call an engineer who caresabout his reputation values his customers.Doubt you will ever take this onboard but when we are Crap at what I do We’ll stop doing it!!The only reason you could ever win contracts is if backhanders are involved.
I like many others have had many complaints about there service.But think I've had one that no one else has mentioned. I had reported a none working central heating system in the middle of the winter. About 6 weeks later they arranged for an engineer to visit. One time a got a knock on my door. Standing there wearing a mears shirt was a man writing out s card which he handed to me. Written on the card was. Quote. Unable to gain access to the property please call for another appointment.I think that sums up mears
I am hard of hearing (disabled) tenant of council in South West London, I’ve bad experience with some of these Mears badly trained workers in the past and present. The impatient Mears contractor refuses to assist me and walk out on me because he offensively think that I am not satisfied with his repairing work on my bathroom boxing and refusing assistance while I tried to explain to him regarding my disability and advise the Mears contractor/carpenter to continue his sloppy repairing work on bathroom boxing correctly; I tried to persuade him if he can help me to contact the council on my behalf to ask them to raise an another repair job for kitchen cupboard hole/creak wall repairs because nobody can able to help me to contact the council on my behalf (I don't know or never trust the unknown next neighbour) but the Mears contractor steadfastly refuses and walk out out my property rudely and leaving the unfinished business. I feel so helpless and stressfully neglected for first time on my life. Mears company worker are rude and don’t care how they treat customers and how their workers conduct poor services. I don't understand why the Mears company which contracted by housing council constantly allow the lazy Mears workers get away with it and leaving the short poor maintenance work on property while we pay rent to our housing council for! Disgraceful!!!!!
