Review Time
Thanks for killing off Windows Mixed Reality. This will leave many PC inexperienced VR users with expensive hardware that is not supported. No updating anymore for me, the only good side is that will mean less bloatware from you. The least you can do is release the software so others can support users like you should be doing.
Terribly frustrating, I need to sign to Microsoft account not to lose my Skype credit, verification codes never get to my emails, not even in spam, resend code several times and nothing! Awful, why do we need to be verifying everything all the time, and the crooks get everywhere so easily? Just lost my Skype now, let's see what's next with all the "linked services" they invent.
On October 1, my Minecraft account got hacked by someone from Russia. Contacting the team for help was hard enough. I contacted them about recovering my account, and due to "security features", they couldn't do anything about it. And they told me they could help. They emailed me a form of my account, I filled it, and a week later, nothing could be done. Like why tell me you can help me recover my account and then a week later tell me you can't? Is it so unlikely that others are facing the same problem that you can't say "no"? What was recommended was to repurchase Minecraft. How will I know that I won't get hacked again and that I wasted another $30? If I could rate my experience 0 stars, I would. Because they were open to help me with this issue and suddenly a "security feature" stops them. The same security feature that couldn't preempt this Russian hacker.
Onedrive is so limiting, when I try to move anything outside the folder it will cause all kinds of problems with programs, Microsoft is clearly forcing people to use Onedrive and subscribe, it’s like a virus.I had to uninstall Onedrive to stabilise the system.
As someone who typically leaves negative reviews, I want to take a moment to recognize Microsoft for their continued leadership in software and operating systems. While I am a fan of Linux and even have Parrot OS set up in a dual-boot configuration with Windows 11, it’s hard to deny that Microsoft stands out as an industry leader in functionality, dependability, and support. The fact that Windows 11 can seamlessly run Linux through Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), essentially treating Linux like an app, is incredible. Windows has also integrated Android into its ecosystem, making it one of the most versatile and adaptable operating systems. In terms of functionality, no other system comes close to offering what Windows does, from productivity software to multi-platform integration. What impresses me even more is the level of customer support Microsoft provides, especially for a company of their size and power. Their support teams are available via phone and live chat, with minimal wait times. Whether you're running a legitimate copy of Windows or even a pirated one, their reps are dedicated to resolving your issue with professionalism and care. I’ve personally experienced this firsthand—after contacting support about an issue with Microsoft Authenticator, the representative spent 90 minutes helping me. When I accidentally closed the chat window, they proactively called me back, despite me not providing my phone number. This kind of dedication is rare in today's tech giants, especially when compared to companies like Meta or Google, which offer little to no customer support. One of the most important reasons I remain a committed Windows user is the security they provide. For months, I've experienced failed login attempts on my account every two hours. Thanks to Microsoft Authenticator and their well-coded, secure services, these attempts have been futile. Their attention to security is second to none, and it’s why I trust their system implicitly.Beyond operating systems, Microsoft’s software suite is unmatched. Microsoft Office continues to be the gold standard in productivity tools, and OneNote is a personal favorite of mine for note-taking and organization. Microsoft Edge has also risen as one of the best web browsers available, offering features that go beyond any competitor, such as installing websites as apps and supporting Chrome extensions. The inclusion of Copilot has further enhanced the browsing experience, although I believe the overly strict language filters could be relaxed. Microsoft also integrated a VPN into Edge, offering an extra layer of privacy during browsing. Their security tools are similarly outstanding—Microsoft’s Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) is the only anti-malware tool I’ve used in years. Unlike other antivirus software that drains system resources, MSRT is a lightweight executable that you can run as needed, which is perfect for my needs. In fact, Windows 11 is so secure that viruses seem to be a non-issue these days. Instead, their focus has shifted to cracking down on unauthorized software modifications, which shows they remain vigilant in keeping users safe.In conclusion, I want to commend Microsoft for years of excellence. Their commitment to innovation, security, and customer service sets them apart. I hope they continue to build on the qualities that made them the best in the industry. Thank you, Microsoft, for all that you do!It’s worth acknowledging that Microsoft currently holds a low rating on Trustpilot, but it’s important to recognize that many of these negative reviews stem from users frustrated by their own lack of computer skills or understanding of the system. As with any powerful platform, there is a learning curve, and often, complaints arise when users are unable to navigate the technology effectively. In my experience, Microsoft offers an exceptional level of support to help users overcome these challenges, and their systems are designed to be as intuitive and user-friendly as possible. However, no amount of innovation can compensate for the need to learn and adapt. Microsoft's long-standing reputation, strong product offerings, and comprehensive support are clear indicators that they continue to lead the industry, regardless of the reviews from a small subset of disgruntled users. For those willing to engage with their products and take advantage of their robust support, the experience is unparalleled.
It seems that Microsoft does not care about its customers. I have been locked out of my account for ten days, and the only way to unlock it is through a specialist team. However, they have not responded to my requests. It is now impossible to speak or chat with a human, which many people have experienced. In desperation, I went to the MS UK head office in Reading, but other than the person at the reception, it was impossible to speak to anyone there. My Office 365 account promised 24/7 access to telephone support, so it appears that they may be in breach of millions of contracts. What is an SRX nunber? I haven't been given one. I have an SIR number, however, I think that may not have come from MS. I was able to complete an escalation form with the assistance of the MS receptionist.
I had a dual booted computer with windows and arch and after an update on windows, (which i didnt ask for). it BROKE my arch linux partition. when i contacted support all they said was FU, go figure it out yourself, they didnt give BASIC instructions on how to fix it. DO NOT install windows on your computer EVER. Start with ubuntu or anything else if you want reliability and knowing that your computer wont DO things for you that you didnt choose!
My Microsoft (MS) laptop was infected with malware, and my paid MS account was hacked, which led to unauthorised access to most of the websites and services I use. I lost access to everything when MS locked me out of my account for over three months. After ignoring my emails, they finally told me they would not reverse their decision. I contacted a government fair trading agency, which assisted in reopening my case. Eventually, I was granted access again through an escalations team that had not been offered to me earlier. Now, I'm trying to re-open a separate account that was also hacked with the same representative, but I've been told it's not possible because I don't have all the IP addresses. This has cost me so much time and money, and if I could, I would never use an MS device or subscription again. They have never apologised. To note I particularly experienced the most disgraceful service from Elizabeth & Shiena. They are both terrible people who tried to ruin my life by blaming me for the hacking. Their policies and procedures are outdated; they blame the victims of identity theft, and they seem more inclined to help the hackers. It’s a disgrace, and it’s completely changed my perspective on the need to regulate big tech companies. After reading other reviews here, it’s clear that many people share similar experiences, but MS is too large and profit-driven to care. The government needs to step in and break up this monopoly. If anyone knows of a class action or legal case that I can support against them, please let me know.
