Although we have had good experiences with a wide variety of Miele machines, all were long lasting and trouble free, their current delivery, installation and customer service standards are abysmal. Our 9 year old Miele washing machine had started to leak, the service engineer said new parts would have to be ordered from Germany, which could take some time. Rather than engage in a potential roundabout of repairs, we decided to order a new machine. Our previous machines have come via John Lewis, on this occasion we ordered directly from Miele. We requested delivery and installation, together with disconnection and removal of the old machine. The delivery was satisfactory, but the instruction booklet and another small part were missing. Miele subsequently supplied a photocopy of the instruction booklet - not an original. This is a minor point, but is indicative of a general decline in standards. The old machine's inlet pipe was connected to the main fitting by a metal hexagonal nut, a standard fitting, but it defeated the crew who delivered the new machine. When they attempted to disconnect the old machine they only succeeded in loosening the fittings, causing a leak and narrowly avoiding a flood. They excused themselves by saying they did not have the right tools and were not plumbers. They then left, leaving us with two machines and a plumbing problem. An emergency plumber resolved the plumbing issues, disconnecting and reconnecting the machines without difficulty, but at the cost of £168-00.We have contacted Miele customer services by both telephone and e-mail in order to resolve the failures in their deliver service, but without success. They seem determined to avoid all responsibility for the actions of people whom they engaged to act on their behalf. We have indicated that they are in breach of contract for failing to provide the agreed services, and have also failed to uphold their responsibilities under the Consumer Rights Act. The old machine is still with us. We are contemplating arranging for the local council to remove it, as we do not trust the delivery company, even if Miele authorise its removal. Any further cost incurred in its removal will be added to the claim we intend to make in the Small Claims Court if Miele persist in ignoring our communications.
Spent over £900 on a Miele dishwasher just over three years ago. Its performance has never been great, and a few weeks ago it stopped working altogether. An engineer showed us the circuit board which had fried and was scorched black. Cost £450 to repair. Contacted Miele twice for comment on how such an expensive machine could be so poor, but they have not even bothered to reply. We used to buy Miele products, but will never do so again.
The reply below is what I received following my earlier Trust pilot review, I did send my details but no response! absolutely dispicable company. Reply from Miele6 days agoDear Mr MacCarthy, Thank you for reaching out to us. Of course your described experience does not meet our standards regarding our service quality and longevity of our products. We would like to have a closer look at your case. To do so, we would kindly ask you to send us an e-mail to including your name, your address as well as the receipt of engineer appointement. Our colleguages will reach out to you after checking your case. Thank you very much in advance. Best regards, Your Miele Team
I purchased hoover filter and it has taken over 2 weeks to arrive. I didn't receive an email to confirm that the hoover bags would be delivered separately. It was a sorry day when I bought the Miele hoover. I also had an issue with a Miele washing machine. I am still waiting for customer service to telephone me with an appointment for a technician to come out to repair it. I ended up buying a new washing machine due to the lack of communication from Miele.
Miele washing machine brought a warning so contacted Miele on Monday 16th October , engineer came on the Friday replaced Element and ordered another part. Two weeks passed a different engineer came out put replacement part on managed to use the washing machine for 3 days only for the same warning to flash up again rang Miele on Tuesday the 8th only to be told there isn’t a slot for an engineer until the Friday the 24th of November!! Apparently I am the cancellation list (I was last time but nothing happened any earlier so I aren’t holding my breath). By the time the 24th comes around I will be nearly 6 weeks without a washing machine living in a rural location and being a family of 4. I was offered £25 yet when I go to the local town to use the washing machines available at a garage it costs me £13 a wash and with 2 kids at school a husband who works outdoors I need to do more than 2 loads a week!! I will certainly think twice about buying anymore Miele appliances when the service they offer is so bad!! Sort it out Miele I paid you £270 to repair my machine over 3 weeks ago and still I have no washing machine very very poor service
Back in May I wrote a review about my new Miele dishwasher and the service I received when logging a fault. This is a follow up review of the service since. Following my bad review they responded here on Trustpilot and asked me to contact them. I, like many others I'm sure, get a warm feeling when I read this kind of response to a bad review, because it makes me think that at least they are attempting to rectify it. Miele clearly know this, because they had zero intention of helping. In the 6 months since, I have chased 4 times. The first 3 times, they responded with they are still working on it and the last, silence. Today is 6 months since this started so I'm giving up.
This is my very bad experience with a Miele purchase and my opinions on Miele-Canada company:1) I bought a Miele “Euro Fridge” directly from the Miele company without an intermediate Miele dealer.2) The Miele fridge makes a disturbing noise almost constantly. I believe this is a result of a design problem with the Miele fridge.3) I called two different Miele technicians but both did nothing to correct the problem. They did not even acknowledge the problem.4) I wrote to Miele to take back their wrongly designed noisy fridge and reimburse my money. Miele did not even answer to my message.5) Miele directly sold me this badly designed noisy fridge (at a very high price) without giving me any information or warning that their product makes a disturbing noise (at the time of the sale). Now they refuse to take back their badly designed product and reimburse my money. Isn’t this tricking the customer?6) The Miele fridge I purchased will likely go to the GARBAGE and I will have to buy a properly designed fridge from a COMPETITOR. I do NOT RECOMMEND anybody to buy Miele products.7) What kind of a company is this? I leave it to your discretion.
