After my Henry which lasted for 30 years stopped working, I bought a Miele vacuum cleaner for £250. It wasn't cleaning properly from the start but changed the bag and filter once thinking it would be ok eventually but because of summer missed the return window of 30 days so had to return it as a repair job, after using it only for 4 times. They are now charging me another £125 for a repair since they insist that it was me who misused the appliance by warping a bracket, when it must be a manufacturing issue instead. I am contesting it but at the end I would have paid almost £400 to have a "repaired" vacuum cleaner . Customer service was not a pleasant experience either , very unsympathetic and unfriendly . I will never buy anything else from Miele again.
Very poor service ,ordered a new dishwasher on 7th nov 2024 then Wrong item was delivered ,paid extra for installation but was not installed correctly, went back to mieli outlet to complain & asked if they could collecte the dishwasher, and deliver the correct item I ordered ,was told it was out of stock and did notKnow when it would be available,! I asked for a refund was told they could not refund untill they collected the dishwasher , so we chose a different model and paid for this as a new purchase as we were expecting the refund for the first appliance once they collected it ,Mieli arranged to collect the dishwasher and deliver the new one we bought on the same day ,all went to plan but no refund ,have been chasing miles for 9 weeks trying to get my refund it now 15th Jan 2025 ,keep being fobbed off being told they are having technical difficulties , i have asked to speak to manager but no luck ,I have asked for email but nothing but broken promised about manager calling and that my refund is on its way ! appalling service ,i put our new dishwasher on credit card as was expecting refund for the first dishwasher so far I have had to pay £96 in interest on this due to their failure of refund ,would not buy from mieli again due to appalling customer service ,have bought from mieli many times in the past and been very pleased with their products ,but this is the worst experience I have had terrible customer service very stressful having to come home from work and have an hour phone call several times a week just to fobbed off not happy
£1249 Miele washing machine only lasted 2.5 year. .I purchase Miele WEG665 WCS TDos&9kg GB after approximately Two and half year of use a service with F49 fault appeared on the screen.Contacted Miele and Miele advised to purchase a repair plan from Domestic and General or pay Direct Miele £289+VAT to come out and repair the washing machine. I have purchased a repair plan of £196. Miele engineer from Domestic and General came out Yesterday and advised that the washing machine have an issue with control board or software which is better to purchase a new machine then repairing it.I wish I have purchased a Hotpoint washing machine for £350 which they do last easy 10 years plus.So paid £1249 for washing machine and £196 for repair cover £1444 wasted .I will never go near Miele appliance anymore.
Wenn Sie eine zweiteilige Polypropylenschale gebaut hätten, wäre diese abnehmbar gewesen, um Reparaturen und den Austausch der Dichtung, der Lager und des Stativs zu erleichternThe subject of how appliance manufacturers such as Miele manage the design of appliances in a way that affects their repairability is a sensitive one and of great interest, especially given recent European regulations such as the European Standard 2024 /1781.Background and ImportanceIn essence, the European standard 2024/1781 places a special emphasis on the "right to repair" and promotes product durability by obliging manufacturers to facilitate the repairability of household appliances. The purpose of these regulations is to reduce e-waste, encourage the circular economy and support customers in keeping their products functional over an extended lifespan.Unfortunately, in recent years, some manufacturers have adopted practices that seem to contradict this principle. A controversial example is Miele's use of bonded tubs in washing machines, which makes it difficult or even impossible to replace bearings or other components without damaging the entire tub. This goes against the spirit of the regulation which aims at product repairability to prevent waste and protect resources.Implications for Consumers and the EnvironmentBasically, the fact that washing machines have bonded tubs means that after a few years of use, if problems arise with the bearings or other parts around the tub, repair is either impossible or expensive, requiring the entire unit to be replaced. This forces consumers to buy a new product, contributing to the generation of e-waste and the waste of natural resources. For consumers, this is a frustrating situation, as they expect products from brands recognized for their quality, such as Miele, to be durable and easily repairable. The perception of quality associated with Miele has been built on decades of innovation and durability, and any signal that this reputation is in jeopardy can lead to a decline in customer confidence in the brand.A Self-Destructive Brand 'Fall'Such a practice could signal a distancing from the principles that made the brand respected in the first place. The fact that Miele could "self-destruct" its reputation by refusing to comply with repairability regulations, imposing practices that suggest "disposable" appliances, affects not only public perception, but also market leadership. When a consumer invests in an expensive Miele appliance, they expect long-term value, not a short lifespan.Call for Revival and Return to ValuesIf this is recognized and corrected by Miele, it could represent a positive turning point for the company. One solution would be to adjust the design of the products to facilitate repairs and fully comply with European standards. Thus, Miele could reaffirm its commitment to quality and durability, restoring its reputation. It is a call for introspection and a return to the values that have made the brand a reference name in the household appliances market. Therefore, the transition to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices not only complies with legislative requirements, but also protects the integrity of a brand that has built its name on durability and trust.Plastic tub for a washing machineAbstractA cylindrical jacket (2)/front-side wall (3) has stabilizing devices. In the jacket/wall along a surface running direction (13) there are locally restricted bead-type balancing sections (BS) (6) in surfaces bordered by the stabilizing devices. The Miele app lacks the ability to start programs remotely from my phone. I’m not sure what the app is even for. What’s the point? It only notifies me that the dryer has finished, but I can’t restart it even if I know the clothes aren’t fully dry. Terrible! I would not expect such a poor app from Miele.
The Autodos for dishwasher wasn't working. Tried everything in the manual, and eventually had to call a Miele technician. He spent couple hours fixing it and charged us $600. We had just purchased the dishwasher brand new 3 years ago for $2000. This is unacceptable; they should fix it for like $150 of something, not rip you off when it is their own product that has performed so poorly. Will never buy Miele again....
Customer service is non existent. Even after a complaint is raised, you don't get a call back. Service appointments cancelled last minute. 3 months on and still waiting for a replacement freezer.Update 19 Dec. Replacement freezer is also faulty. Engineers are unable to repair. Over 4 months later and still no resolution.
why the repairman came just looked and said my refrigerator didn't know why the temperature was unstable and he didn't find the cause and didn't fix it, an unskilled worker that miele company sent. so disappointed. please consider buying Miele products. The temperature of my refrigerator's cooling compartment is unstable, constantly changing 4,5,10,15,18. When the repairman came, he just looked and said he didn't know what to do with this refrigerator. I didn't see them bring a testing machine, such as a gas tester or a wire tester to see if it was good... I don't think they don't know why the cooling compartment changes constantly like that. I ordered my washing machine 5 weeks ago. They said the delivery would be in two weeks on Nov 5th. On the expected delivery day, it was not delivered. I called to find out why it was not delivered and they said it was out of stock. They said it would be in stock on Nov 11th and would be available for delivery then. The following week on Nov 11th, again no delivery. When I called they said it would not be in stock until Nov 18th. Again the following week, no delivery. This time guaranteed it the dispatch team will deliver on Nov 26th. Today is the 26th and no delivery message. When I called they said there is another delay and they will get it to me by Nov 28th. I am not holding my breath. So five weeks later, I still have not received my washing machine. This is ridiculous. Why sell something and promise a certain delivery date and then not notify me that it was not available and I have to keep chasing them up on it. Very poor customer service. Easy to sell and take our money in their part but no product to deliver.
