Review Time
We have had Miele washing machines for over 30 years, and they have been of great quality and have lasted a long time. We therefore thought it would be a good idea to purchase a Miele TEF765WP Freestanding Heat Pump Tumble Dryer, 8kg Load, 3 1/2 years ago. However, it has already broken down and today we have been advised that it is going to cost us almost as much to repair it as it did to purchase it (by an approved Miele engineer). It hasn't even had heavy usage. Really disappointed as I thought Miele was so much better than this.UPDATE The company did contact me and have done absolutely nothing. No confidence restored at all and after many years of having Miele products, will never touch them again.
Sadly l have to add to the many one star reviews for Miele.I bought a Miele oven, which was expensive for me but l wanted a premium quality reliable product that would last many years without any problems.My oven has the pyrolytic cleaning function which l have used twice in the four years since buying the oven. On the third occasion the door locking mechanism failed and so the function no longer works. Apparently despite only ever locking the door twice in four years this is down to wear and tear!!Miele have offered me 25% off parts (but haven't replied to my request for help identifying the parts I need), if l wish to get the repair done elsewhere but otherwise their ridiculously expensive repair rates will apply as the guarantee is only valid for two years. I complained to customer services, first by email regarding this unacceptable response more than six weeks ago and have phoned twice, a month ago and again two weeks ago, when l was promised my complaint had been escalated.I am still waiting for any reply, and in the meantime the light in my oven has also failed!I will let you decide whether to buy a Miele product but don't be taken in by their justification of high prices for premium quality.If a part as important as a door locking mechanism can fail after two uses this could be very dangerous in a household with small children or elderly residents and the length of a guarantee is irrelevant.Edit:As seen below I received a very promt reply from Miele and hope to be able update my review with a positive outcome soon.
Requested cancellation of a Miele product over a week ago and had not received a response despite emailing several times. The customer service number has no option for orders. Really disappointed being a long time Miele customer that the customer service has gone downhill.
Miele dumped my $10,000 oven on my porch yesterday after having agreed that delivery would not occur till 15 July given no one was available to accept delivery. Zero customer service, zero follow up and at this stage failure to accept responsibility for leaving an expensive item exposed to thieves and a Canberra winter. No assistance from Miele or their Agent.
An expensive fridge was supposed to be better than a cheap one from Curries - wrong. Our Meile has suffered two broken door shelves because the plastic is too flimsy; same happened to the additional freezer we bought; and now the fridge door won't close: Reason - the rubber seal has broken. Simple job to replace, right? Wrong again. Because it is an integral part of the door there is a new door needed at £700; plus a hinge has gone, too. I have already had to replace the door handle twice. No way would I buy this overpriced stuff again!!!
Just spent £309 on a fixed price repair for one of Miele's higher range dishwashers. The engineer arrived the 3rd time, but Miele cancelled the other 2 appointments at short notice meaning a lot of time was wasted our end. It is 9.5 years old but as we have two, it is only used 50% of the time (household of 3), which makes it equivalent to having used it for less than 5 years. Their marketing claims they can last 20 years. Less than 4 weeks later, it has developed another fault which I am expected to pay another £309 for. So, within a month they want £618 (the price of a decent dishwasher from another manufacturer) to repair it, with no guarantee that I won't be hit with more repair bills for further faults. Customers pay a huge premium for Miele's products (which used to be fantastic and reliable) but are now being faced more and more with correspondingly eye watering costs for repairs that are required years before they should be. Have contacted Customer Service but they are not interested.
Awful!!! £1200 coffee machine that’s gone wrong a few times inside the warranty period then recently had to call them out again for the same fault codes as before only to be told it’s the main driver that’s faulty and needs replacing, £140 for a 15 minute visit and potentially a bill of £400 to replace the driver.. The machine is 2 1/2 years old! It’s not even working that hard maybe 2 coffees every morning, It’s been fed bottled water from day 1 and cleaned, degreased and descaled as required with their products that incidentally cost a small fortune.. So their products are far from perfect and won’t last, don’t be fooled by the hype… Never again would I purchase anything from them. Their after sales are awful, they don’t listen to simple instructions regarding your availability and think it’s fine to just book whenever suits them or cancel just the day before they are due to arrive (this happened a few times)… Sales reps couldn’t be more unhelpful directing you back to their service department… AVOID!!!
