Not the Miele of Old – A Disappointing Experience from a Long-Time Customer

As a loyal Miele customer of over 25 years, I write this review with real disappointment. I have nearly every domestic appliance the company manufactures in my home and have long trusted the brand for its quality and longevity. Sadly, that trust has been seriously undermined.I purchased the TWR860WP Eco&Steam tumble dryer for £2,200—at the very top end of Miele’s already premium range. For context, that’s the equivalent of four Bosch dryers or eight from Beko. I expected a product that would last, with service to match.Unfortunately, a leak developed in the dryer, which was stacked above my washing machine. Mistakenly, I initially assumed the washing machine was the source. By the time I identified the true cause, the warranty had expired. A Miele technician, who admitted he’d never seen a similar fault, replaced the part. I was left with a £350 bill for what I still believe was a manufacturing defect.Despite my long-standing loyalty and the unusual nature of the fault, Miele refused to show any flexibility on the repair cost. Worse still, their debt collection partner, DCB Legal, then sent conflicting claims for £250 and £550, failed to respond to any of my requests for clarification, and proceeded with legal action—even after I had paid Miele £250 directly. I have now paid an additional £100 towards their legal costs, simply to put the matter to rest. This experience has been both frustrating and disheartening. Miele's once-great reputation for standing behind its products appears to be slipping. For anyone considering a Miele appliance, I would strongly recommend booking a technician visit just before your warranty ends. It may be the only way to gain peace of mind that your investment is still performing as it should.

I purchased a Miele KM6322 cooktop…

I purchased a Miele KM6322 cooktop installed as part of a luxury apartment development, expecting the “premium German quality” the brand is known for. It has completely failed before even reaching 10 years of age. Failed at 8 years!Miele’s response?❌ No repair.❌ No replacement.❌ No support.Just a refusal to help because it’s “out of warranty” — despite the fact that this is a high-end product that should last far longer under normal residential use.Miele expects customers to pay for their technicians just to confirm what is already clear — that their appliances are no longer built to last. This isn't a budget brand. This is a company charging top dollar for what now appears to be disposable white goods.Their reputation for reliability is outdated. Their customer service? Even worse.👉 If you’re thinking of buying Miele, don’t.Spend your hard-earned money with a brand that backs their products and treats customers with respect. This has been a huge disappointment — and I’ll be taking this to every review site and media outlet I can.#Miele #MieleFail #ConsumerRights #DefectiveProduct #MieleAustralia #MieleComplaint #PlannedObsolescence #DontBuyMiele #ProductReview #Trustpilot #ApplianceDisaster

Recent experience of Miele laundry appliances

This is our recent experience of Miele laundry appliances and their servicing. We are a family of two.Washing machine (WCR890WPS) leaked corrosive laundry liquid from TwinDos into the bottom tray two years ago. No error code was displayed, only noticed the leak in the TwinDos compartment. Only used Miele detergent and was careful with the insertion of the cartridges. Stopped using TwinDos. The washing machine also intermittently leaks water from the detergent tray into the bottom of the machine, triggering the water stop. The washing machine is just over 5 years old and probably beyond economic repair. Tumble dryer (TCR860WP) just over 2.5 years old. We were told that the wiring loom had rubbed on the rotating drum eventually producing an electrical short. Is this normal wear and tear? This resulted in the need to replace the wiring loom and the electronic control unit with an estimated total monetary cost to us in the region of £400-500. With this cost we are debating the wisdom of opting for repair, what is to stop it happening again? Do we really want this as a recurring cost every two or so years? After 7 weeks we are still awaiting repair. In the past we have found Miele products to be reliable, but now?

Purchased a new top of the range…

Hello Miele, Another week has passed and despite your 2 messages where you state that the responsible department has received my complaint at socail@miele to-date, no one from Miele has acknowledge any of my emails and not even to confirm receipt or to acknowledge my complaint. This further confirms that your standard replies on trust pilot is simply to show all other consumers that you are taking matters seriously when in fact you don't take any further action. This is utterly unacceptable. Have the decency to follow through and act in a professional manner. You are charging top prices for products that are simply not up to standard and then you are charging customers again to make new purchases, I will continue to post on trust pilot as I have a duty of care to highlight the poor standards and quality of the highly acclaimed Miele products, To all potential customers who are thinking of purchasing a Miele product. Save your hard earned money and purchase from other suppliers who know how to deal with customer complaints, Miele. Wake up and take accountability of what you are doing, You are a shadow of your former self.Since replying to Miele response below at the email provided, they have not bothered to respond further. Their response is to simply look good in the eyes of trust pilot with no further action. Miele.. wake up and act !!Purchased a new top of the range washing machine in Feb 2022 costing £1200. In July 2023 5 months out of warranty, an internal pipe came lose causing a leak. I was told to pay for the repair which was later refunded after many calls. In April 2025, the machine suffered a catastrophic failure where a hole appeared in the drum and I was informed that the machine could not be repaired. A machine that is suppose to last 20 years !!! I was only given a 40% discount on a new machine. In essence I have now spent almost £2500 on 2 machines over the period of 38 months. Customer care was awful and they simple refuse to take any accountability for the poor quality and build of what is suppose to be the best washing machine on the market. Miele mislead people by staying every Miele washing machine and tumble dryer goes through their intense testing process to ensure they last an equivalent of 20 years'. They claim that they do this by running the 95°C programme on their washing machines for 10,000 hours and opening and closing the door 60,000 times! Trading standards needs to look at this.! Don’t buy Miele and save your money. They are a shadow of their former self. I could have bought 12 average machines with the money I spent and opened up a laundry business !!!

On your own

I purchased a Miele Duoflex vacuum and to be honest I fell in love with it. I was pretending I was an influencer when I talked about the close-to-$600 vacuum to friends and family. I was using it every other day. And four months after I got it a part broke/melted.It's a plastic part that locks in the brush on the main attachment. The plastic part rotates very rapidly and constantly over a metal part. I am not a product engineer, but this seems like it was doomed to fail. Customer support was useless and wouldn't send me a part. They were robotic and unhelpful saying I need to order the part, get this... over the phone!A plastic part. On a 4 month old vacuum. On the PHONE. For $22.50 plus shipping and tax!Except, get THIS: they don't have the part they told me to call and order. Let alone send me for free. It's a ten cent piece of plastic. And so now I have to drive 30 minutes to a dealer and have it looked at and the warranty reviewed. What a massive pain and as a customer I went from a promoter, big time, very rapidly to a detractor. And now I see they have a 1.6 star review rating here I shouldn't be surprised.

Brand new Miele HR1622-3i induction…

Brand new Miele HR1622-3i induction cooktop does not work. Not a single burner. Displays FE53 error which is a major component failure. The technician can not come earlier that in 10 days! Overpriced lemon! Now I'm calling the customer service, just to sit on hold for half an hour. Very bad experience! The review for miele USA.

Miele T1 Heat Pump Dryer

After posting my review of April 06/25 Miele Germany reached out to me. They sent a Miele technician 10 days later with the part who relaced the board which had died. There was no charge so we were very pleased with their response to our problem.(Our Miele dryer completely died after only 4 years. No part is available in Canada and no date for when one would arrive from Germany. We were quoted over $400 for the technician to install and the part would be around $600, so a total of $1000 to repair! This is outrageous but even worse is the fact that the service department is unwilling to give us any indication of a date. Unacceptable service for a high end appliance.)

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Paying top dollar (euro) for below average quality. We have the house full with Miele products and its a neverending misery. Service people are 90% about kicking the product and stating it's broken but they can certainly arrange for a seller to call and credit the service fee. I KNOW ITS BROKEN. I NEED IT FIXED, NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF AGAIN. For these amounts I expect a product that last longer than Whirlpool and at least if it doesn't it ser up in a way that it can be repaired. Never again Miele. I hope someone reads this and finds it useful, responsible at Miele certainly don't care.

Shocking service

I’ve been waiting the best part of a month for a delivery of some dishwasher power discs. After weeks of constantly changing delivery dates they were supposed to have been delivered Saturday, then Monday then Tuesday. Their equally useless courier Parcelforce didn’t deliver them on Tuesday saying they were unable to but had left a card. No attempted delivery and no card. They’ve left them at a local post office apparently but I have no idea where. My advice is don’t waste your money on overpriced Miele products which need Miele supplies. In my opinion you don’t get what you pay for and the service is shocking. If it were possible I would give a minus number.

So disappointed with Miele Customer…

So disappointed with Miele Customer Service- bought a vacuum that stopped working within the 12 month warranty period.Called Miele and arranged for vacuum to be collected - vacuum was repaired and returned. I thought no more of it until I received an invoice via email fir £179.00 - when I contacted Miele - I was told the repair was not covered by the warranty (an issue with the filter not being cleaned). I asked why I had not been contacted and informed that the repairs weren’t covered and therefore I would have to pay - I explained I would not have paid £179.00 the machine only cost £269.00!! I was told this is documented in their terms and conditions - again I argued - no one explained this!! Several emails have been sent - the stock reply is the invoice stands!!! I should have read the T&Cs! I wrote a letter as advised by Citizens Advice - no response!! The invoice has must been given to a debt collecting agency!! As a lifelong Miele customer- I feel angry, frustrated and so disappointed!!I do not have an issue with the repair not being covered by the warranty! I should have been contacted and been informed of the cost of the repair and given confirmation that I was happy to pay!!Appalling service by such a renowned company!!
