The softness they promise is simply not there, and the color faded after just one wash. Overall, a horrible experience from start to finish. Save your money and avoid this brand.
I came across this shop on Instagram and placed an order before realising it’s not a family business at all but a dropshipping site from China.Being Chinese myself, I know this kind of setup isn’t illegal — but pretending to be a small, family-run business operated by an elderly couple is just sickening. AI-generated ads are everywhere these days, I get that, but the deception here crosses the line.I only saw the negative reviews today and have already requested a refund since my order hasn’t been shipped. If anyone else has purchased from them and is considering legal action, I’m happy to support.For those unhappy, I’d recommend tracing their registered records in Amsterdam — it looks like they’ve layered ownerships, but I’m fairly sure it ultimately ties back to a Chinese or Hong Kong company (which is how they earn foreign exchange under the PRC economy).Avoid this shop.
I purchased towels from this company and was very disappointed with the quality. They pilled and shed lint everywhere, making them unusable after the first wash.When I asked for a refund, the company kept dragging its feet—first offering me 10%, then 15%, 25%, and now 30% refunds, each time telling me to just keep the faulty towels. They refuse to cover return shipping, so it feels like they are pushing customers to accept a small partial refund rather than properly honoring refunds.The whole process has been frustrating and feels unfair. I would not recommend buying from them.UPDATE as of 23/09/2025: They have finally offered me a full refund after considerable effort on my part, so I am updating my rating from 1 star to 3 stars.
The company is currently refusing to give me a full refund for a poor quality product, and is making repeated ‘offers’ is a refund of 10% or 15%! This is outrageous and is a breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. It is also stating that I would be responsible for a large return postage fee, which I completely dispute as the towels are poor quality - thin, not fluffy and luxurious - and one of the towels was not even properly finished. The thread is coming loose - it is faulty. Do not purchase from this company. I wish I had looked at these reviews and been warned beforehand
Get your towels somewhere else. I ordered 4 bath towels and 4 hand towels ($219.80) on 25 Aug. After several inquiries about the vague tracking info, I received the package on 17 Sept. and opened it on 22 Sept when I returned from a trip.The towels were crushed into a vacuum-packed lump. In order to see the towels, one must open this sloppy packaging, thereby losing any possibility of return as they stipulate that the towels must be in the original packaging - and then shipped to China ($$), even though the return address on the package is in Los Angeles, USA (??).Such appallingly poor quality, it would be amusing to compare with the photos on their faux-fancy website if you weren't thinking about how much money you've just thrown out the window. Thin, poorly stitiched towels, uneven edges and the hand towels are not even a standard size. They look cheap and the beige color is more of a washed out brown-yellow.Onuia has offered me a 10% refund, and then a 15% refund to "make it right". I have refused these offers as I consider it an insult. I have asked for a US address to return the towels for a full refund. No luck. UPDATEThere seems to be a very strange game going on with this company - 1-star reviews reflect frustration at incremental offers of partial (10%, 15%, 30%...) refunds, and then updated reviews showing 3 stars when reviewers have finally been fully refunded. I have no intention of playing this game, it's not worth my time, and I resent the hassle and anxiety of the back and forth with "Emily". Stay away from Onuia, something very sketchy going on.
Absolutely terrible experience with Onuia. I ordered two cotton bathrobes but instead received two made of 100% polyester, one even had its tag cut off. When I reported this, Onuia claimed the tag was removed “for comfort”I requested a prepaid return label since their website states that in cases of incorrect items, they cover return costs. Instead, they told me I must ship the items back to China at my own expense $45 plus customs fees.This is a blatant violation of their own policy. I’ve had to involve my legal assistant to resolve the issue. Horrendous company. Do not buy from them!
