Worst company ever for hidden fees. If you are considering paycor, RUN to any other payroll company. The first year we had them, the end of year fees for hundreds of dollars was ridiculous enough, and then I downloaded copies of 1099s and W-2s and got charged hundreds of dollars more. Finally got fed up and switched payroll companies. We ran our last payroll on 3/15/26, filled out the cancellation form on 3/25/26. Got an invoice for April which I was expecting to pay for a 30 day notice, then a week later got another invoice for 2 months worth of fees for canceling. So we had to pay 3 months extra worth of fees to cancel our contract. Even though the contract copy I have says $0 in fees as long as you had the service for more than 24 months (which we did) their explanation is that was our implementation contract and not our actual service cancellation convenience fee. We ended up using paycor at the advice of our bank and I will be reaching out to fifth/third and letting them know how predatory paycor is to their members.

Zero stars should be an option for this company. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, reliable and responsive to your need payroll company do NOT choose Paycor. This company has the most horrible customer service. And 9 out of 10 times Paycor will ALWAYS let your business down. To be such a huge payroll processing company that even merged with another company last year Paycor is the sorriest excuse of a company. Do not trust your payroll with this company.
Horrific experience! The system continuously has issues. The customer service is the worst customer service I have ever experienced anywhere. Not once have I been able to get a complete resolution to any case. Delays on paying state taxes causing unnecessary charges. They will send the same invoice to multiple emails and claim non-payment and add extra fees even when you have proof of payment and paid immediately. Thousands of dollars of just missing tax impound funds and so much more.
One of the worst payroll companies! Paying employees that are no longer employed , not paying employees that are working, taking the wrong state taxes out of other employees , double paying employees , then I need top of that charging employees almost $100 for a rejected direct deposit.
Do not use Paycor! You'll be hit by hidden fees that even they can't or won't explain. The fees will just go up and up until you've had enough, and then they hit you with another month of fees because you have to give them 30 days notice when you leave! Customer service is painfully slow, plan on at least a half hour before you get to talk to someone, and promises made turn into lies. Go anywhere else!
We have been extremely disappointed with our experience using Paycor for EDI benefits feeds. The setup took nearly five months and cost $1,500, which meant half of our benefit year was already over before anything was even working. That completely defeats the purpose of having an automated feed in the first place. What has been most frustrating is that customer service has no ability to actually help or escalate the issue. You simply wait, follow up, and get no real answers while your team and employees are the ones dealing with the consequences. For a system that is supposed to create efficiency, this process has done the exact opposite. If you are considering Paycor for EDI feeds, be prepared for long delays, high setup costs, and very little support during the process.
Working with Paycor has been extremely frustrating and time-consuming. There is a consistent lack of accountability when issues occur on their end, whether it’s system glitches or file feed failures. One of the biggest challenges is how tickets are handled. Issues are often closed prematurely without being resolved. When that happens, you’re forced to start over, re-explain the entire situation to a new representative, and open another ticket. It creates a cycle that wastes significant time and increases the risk of errors. We’ve had multiple instances where FMLA accrual totals disappeared, requiring tickets that took weeks to address. More recently, a 401(k) file was not sent through the normal file feed. Despite the serious compliance implications, including potential Department of Labor concerns, it took multiple follow-ups over two weeks just to get a response. The issue itself was still not resolved and the case was closed. Any attempts I made at follow up were ignored.Overall, support is awful. Slow response times, lack of ownership, and premature ticket closures make Paycor very difficult to work with, especially when dealing with time-sensitive payroll and compliance matters.
The quarterly tax filings were late and we are being charged penalties. We are being overbilled for zero returns when it was negotiated there would not be charges. The taxes are not being withheld properly-Harrodsburg and Versailles KY.There is no email contact to forward information to. You have to speak with someone outside the country.Paycor changed drastically from what it was. The customer service is not convenient of having a contact/representative.
