No respect for customer's time

No respect for customer's time! I had a 1:30 appt. and it is 2:20 and nobody has touched it! It is the same freaking story everytime - I would never take my personal vehicle here, but this is a work car and Pep Boys ( or should I say PepGirls) have an agreement with the company I work for to service the vehicle - it is not all Pep Boys, just the Pep Girls in Monrovia, CA. That has consistent horrible customer service and LAZY ASS employees! I suspect it is managed very poorly to always deliver such consistently BAD service.Best advice, AVOID this Pep Girls location in Monrovia, Ca.!!!

Very Professional

Had an issue with the service and complained about it. A few days later I received a call from the store manager who apologized and corrected the issue to my satisfaction.

Wrong fluid used in Transmission service

Recently had a Transmission Fluid change at Pep boys Trooper, PA Location. Long Story short, they put in the wrong trans fluid and it blew my transmission. When making the appt the PB rep looked up my PB account and asked for details of my car. He recommended having a Transmission Fluid Flush, rather than just a fluid change. Service was completed and shortly thereafter while on a trip my transmission blew. Spoke to the mechanic who now has the car and was advised that PB should not have recommended or performed a Transmission Flush on a high mileage car, as it will cause issues. They should have only performed a Fluid change, and not a flush. Also Pep Boys put in the wrong transmission fluid. That is the big issue. My car has a CVT Transmission and Pep Boys put in regular Automatic Transmission Fluid. Those fluids are not compatible and Pep Boys putting in the wrong transmission fluid destroyed my transmission. After car broke down, I went to the manager at the PB shop that performed the service to discuss the issue and he was unable to help or make any type of report. I showed him the Pep Boys receipt of the service they performed, which clearly indicated the wrong fluid was used. He Just directed me to the 800 number to put in a complaint/claim. I then put in the claim with the 800# person and they advised the turnaround time for a PB rep to contact me was 48 hours. After three days, I started calling for updates. Four days in a row I called for updates and got the same answer ‘this was escalated but Manager not available to discuss, they will call you soon.’ Next I found pepsocial email, which they advise people to reach out to when there is a social media bad review. Sent a few emails to them as well asking for assistance, but received the same auto responses. At this point, it is 10 days since i put in the complaint and no responses. Finally received a call from the Trooper PA store and spoke to the rep twice. I asked to speak with someone who is a decision maker, so we can have this issue resolved. Spoke with the Area Director, explained the issue and they asked me to provide documents of the diagnosis and estimated cost to repair from the mechanic. I provided the documents and later that day Pep Boys sent reps to the mechanic shop my car is located to inspect the car. 4 days later i received an email from the PB Trooper PA rep that they would now hire a third party. A week later a PB Claims processor called and said a third party inspector would contact the mechanic to set up a time for inspection. there is no time table on when that inspection will take place, or what that inspector is actually doing. At the time of this review, it has been almost one month since reporting this issue to Pep Boys and no resolution. I provided the Pep Boys Service receipt that showed wrong transmission fluid was used by Pep Boys, I provided a written diagnosis/estimated repair cost by the mechanic, and Pep Boys representatives examined the vehicle as well. Now there is some third party exam needed. This treatment by Pep Boys to a long time customer is completely unacceptable.

PEPBOYS IS A JOKE AND A SCAM! THEY WILL RUIN YOUR VEHICLE!!!! WARNING!

PepBoys is a joke! They damaged my vehicle and I have parts missing from one simple oil change! I have contacted the store (East Norriton) as well as the corporate location and no one seems to care! I was told the video would be reviewed and magically the system was down when they needed to review it! I will make sure to post on any outlet possible to make sure that everyone hears me!

Dont use Pepboys

Pepboys tried to run the bill up once again!! My car was in for an inspection. They wanted to charge me 347.00 for the inspection, rotors and brake pads. The staff was rude and unhelpful, when I told them no to the service work. They left my car on the lift for 25 mins. Then they parked my car in a handycapped spot. Didn't tell me where they parked it and they didn't use floor, or seat covers. I now have to get my car inspected someplace else. It cost me 78.00 dollars. I will never use Pepboys again. I have had trouble with this company for years.

GO ELSEWHERE!

I ordered a tire thru AMAZON to be delivered tp the Pep Boys store in Sterling Heights, MI. I checked Amazon tracking and it showed it WAS delivered. Pep Boys COULDN'T find the tire for 2 DAYS! They call me to come in asap to install it. It took them almost 3 HOURS to install 1 TIRE. Then the guy who installed my tire COMPLAINS to me how he hates installing Low-Profile Tires. While waiting I tt 3 other customers who ALL complained how they had BAD service and were there for the 2nd or 3rd time TRYING to have the correct REAIRS made. My advice is to NEVER EVER go to this store for ANYTHING!

I made an appointment for a simple car…

I made an appointment for a simple car inspection and when I arrived I was asked to come back 3 hours later to better convenience them. That was a huge mistake to agree to come back later. Once I returned close to the requested time, I waited for over an hour to have a simple car inspection. Thankfully I do not use pep boys as my usual shop, and I would recommend you to not as well. Like most mechanics they are busy constantly but do not have the great customer service other shops have in the Charleston area.

I have been a customer for over 35…

I have been a customer for over 35 years at the Hanford, CA store and prior to that, the Shaw Avenue location in Fresno, CA for both company and personal vehicles. The majority of our business has been with the Hanford location. This location has a solid staff due to high retention of key personal. Primarily, due to their professionalism, my loyalty is solid because of their commitment to stellar customer service. This relationship has remained solid. 11/14/22, 2009 Lincoln Town car in for routine service and during the checklist review, it was time to service the fuel filter and they did it along with the 3,000-mile service requirements I have maintained for decades. 2018 Lincoln MKX Reserve is also served by this location, with the same results as noted above. From this location starting with Service Manager Griselda and Assistant Manager Darryl who I have known for over 30-years only provide solid professional service.I also would like to add Service Associates Virginia and Toni as standouts making this location a first choice auto serving location.Their Maintenace Staff beginning with Raphael, Greg and Victor who are the main technicians who service our two vehicles.

If I could give a ZERO

If I could give a ZERO - I would. I purchased and paid for a set of new tires from the locations Service Manager in person on Sat morning - 11/5/22. He confirmed the tires were in stock and would be delivered to the Annandale store on Monday - 11/7/22 and that he would call to schedule installation. Monday came and went - NO PHONE call - Nothing. I called and no one knew the status of the order - were they delivered or not? No one on-site knew anything - so i left a message for the Service Manger to give me a call on Tuesday - NOTHING. So I called Tuesday (11/8/22) and finally spoke to the Service Manager - he stated that they were not delivered and guaranteed they would be delivered on Wednesday morning (even if he had to pick them up himself) then scheduled my install at 10am/Wednesday (11/8/22). I arrived at the Annandale store location at 9:45am - only to find out the TIRES were NOT delivered as promised and the Service Manager was OFF. So much for his word/guarantee as a man or representative of Pep Boys. Asst Mgr said they were on a truck - delivery ETA and stated Service Mgr was OFF and not on location. Frustrating, disappointing - tires finally arrived a 11:30am and finally got them installed. I was offered by the Service Mgr a free oil change for my trouble - NOT ACCEPTABLE. If you think I will EVER come back to the Annandale, VA store location - you a crazy. That Wednesday (11/8/22) I reached out to Pep Boys corporate and filed a complaint - Today is 11/15/22 and like their Service Manager - NOTHING! - no one has reached out to address this compliant. Seems to be a Pep Boy policy not to contact the customer to address in detail. Seems poor customer service, lack of communication, terrible customer service is policy from the top down at Pep Boys.

Denver, Colorado -Broadway and Alameda

Had a new tire put on the car and less than 100 miles of driving, all 5 lugs sheered off causing the tire to destroy my front fender. After an almost $300 tow truck to get it back to Pep Boys and after two weeks, they said they had not had the chance to look at it. The 3rd week I asked if I should contact Corporate or speak to the manager regarding any sort of responsibility the shop had in over torqued lug nuts. I was told the manager would be the one to speak with after he returned from vacation. I spoke with him today over a month later and was told not only did they have no responsibility for this but that they also couldn't work on my car. I now have to pay for another tow, another mechanic, and a body shop. Do yourself a favor and avoid these guys at all cost!!!
