Hard to believe they’re still in business. Went to the Annandale location for a dash light that came on. It actually indicated what was wrong and where. The mechanic asked me which sensor is the problem, I told him, but they still charged me a $20 diagnostics fee. I was also charged a $20 fee for a 90 warranty on the balancing of the wheel they took off. I asked them to cancel the warranty but was told you’ll come later with an unbalanced tire and we need to fix it so we can’t cancel it. Left the car there for 5 hours. When I went to pick up the car, I told the manager you’re over charging me for the part, Advance auto part has the same part for $55 and you’re charging me $150, thats a huge difference. He told me I should have done my research before dropping the car off not when picking it up. Not only they over charged me, but also when I turned the car on the light was still on. I was told by the mechanic and a front desk employee that it’ll turn off after driving. Went back the next day, I was told by the manager that the wrong part was ordered. Went back in two days. The manager wasn’t there. I was told they cant do anything as they are busy. After a lot of negotiations they said I should wait 2 hours so other customers get their turn. I got over charged, they took my money, didn’t fix the car and when I gave them the opportunity twice to fix their mistake they gave me an attitude and brushed me off. For your own good stay away from this place. They are untrained employees. Both at the front desk and in the shop. Specially now that they don’t work with pep boys store, they order the parts from other parties and it costs a lot more An uptade; I’ve made every attempt to have my car fixed. I have stopped by multiple times and every time they till me they ordered the part but next time I visit ghey dont have the part. I’m sick and tired of these guys lying to me. I’ve wasted so much time waiting for someone to give me an answer. The shop managers only concern was for me to remove my review but has done nothing to fix the problem. After leaving a review I received so many emails from Pep Boys main office . All they do is apologize but they do nothing to gain the customers trust and satisfaction. You stole $235 from me , you guys are crooks
This company is a joke! I had ordered tires and set up an appt last week. Once I got to Pep Boys to install the new tires, I was told they cannot change my tires since they are run-flat tires! So, why was I able to order and make an appt??? This company needs to go into extinction just like the dodo bird. I have found a reputable company that can change run-flat tires but Pep Boys sure isn't it! I will never return to that dumpster fire of a company that is Pep Boys.
I ordered tires online and decided to have them installed. I got 2 confirmations and a reminder. I get to Pep boys and the cashier or service person signs me in and assigns someone to begin work. The guy goes back and removes my tires from the rims then I am told the tires I ordered were not there and they can't honor the price for the tires they do have. I ask when the tires I ordered will be in, the lady tells me not until Friday. Then she goes back to the computer and says "they haven't left Jessup yet" Why didn't she check this before she told the mechanic to remove my tires. (Of course all the tires they do have in store are priced higher) . Who starts tire installation without knowing if you actually have the tire. Very dishonest people. I ended up having tires installed but not the ones I ordered and not at the price of the tires I ordered. Very dishonest companyI
I'm giving one ⭐ because there's no 0.I bought tires in there and requested an alignment, too.They installed my tires and waited till I got there to pick up my car to tell me they couldn't do the alignment because their machine " didn't fit" my car. I had to run around looking for another pep boys that would do it, because they informed me that my tires' warranty would be voided if I did the alignment outside of Pep boys at. They also charged me an additional $25 to put one of the tires they removed in my spare wheel. Victor was rude and condescending and totally uncaring of my time and efforts, even though i'm a 73 year old woman. Never again! This is Hesperia Pep boys on main street.
I have been going to PEP Boys in Pompton Plains for years excellent staff and great mechanics. PEP Boys in Wanaque friendly staff and very good mechanics. The difference "PEP Boys in Pompton Plains" THEY honor coupons, assist with discounts, makes adjustments and understands a happy customer will return and refers customers. Wanaque PEP BOYS, as per Anthony, all sales final can't make adjustments with valid coupons (1) day later. I spent almost $800 yesterday and a few months ago $$$. We own 4 vehicles that we maintain. I won't be returning to Wanaque PEP BOYS, possibly consider" PEP Boys in Pompton Plains if I have a coupon & Luis, the mechanic, is working. Otherwise, back to my local mechanic at Delta Gas Station on Newark Pompton Tpk. Long wait but great service and price.
Don’t bother making appointments with these guys. I show up ten minutes early for an alignment and am told I’d have to wait two and a half hours before they could even start on the service. When I contacted customer service to complain about the issue I’m told that setting online appointments shouldn’t be done - that if I wanted to get a real appointment I need to call the store and do it directly.Complete waste of time. Now I’ve got to go take another half day off and get it done somewhere that knows what the meaning of scheduled service means..
Got a battery from service department in may 2022 went there to change it Give me a hard time would not change it You gave me a bad batteryTook my car to mechanic he change my battery thank you pep boys out 175.00for pep boys battery and 300.00 for my mechanic I would not even go there for oil change
