Be aware

I've used Philippines Airlines before with no problem. But this time, has been a disaster, I have booked a return international flight and a single domestic flight.All three flights have been changed, all seats have been changed and I have been charged for the new seats, requesting an aisle seat, the final straw was the return int'l flight was changed to 3 days later, which was not acceptable. I booked these flights in September at a good price, these seats have either been sold on at a higher price, or would never be available. I fly in 4 days and have had to book another flight $600 more than I originally paid, they PAL were quite happy to refund my flights, i wonder why? Really disappointed at such a late date, very poor service, avoid.

Philippines Airlines terrible experience

We flew in from Bali to Manila Airport on Philippines airlines. Upon arrival we have no way of moving between terminals to get food, There are no food options in terminal 1 unless your a local We bought drinks and were told at the gate we had to throw them away because no drinks are allowed - we bought these drinks in the airport after security checks, from their own shops and they deny these drinks onto the plane - no water, nothing To end the beautiful experience, we are told at the gate we need to go to another gate and verify our baggage. The airline and airport are extremely poor, below any industry standard and extremely painful to work with. I’d rather sit a 24 hour layover than ever fly this airline or airport again

Staff lied to us multiple times about…

Staff lied to us multiple times about the availability of business class upgrade seating. Once we finally managed to pay for the upgrade - they printed the wrong boarding pass leaving us scrambling to sort it out at the gate. No apologies and no accountability whatsoever. When I asked staff for a manager to provide feedback to they waived me off and told me to do it online.

Worst international flight experience

Worst international flight experience. This place is managed horrendously! So disorganized. Employees lack skill sets . They literally have back to back to back security checks just for a connecting flight! I had to correct employees on numerous occasions, one delayed me because she was looking for a PH stamp on my passport. She didn’t even know it was a connecting flight even when I gave her both boarding passes. This place is truly a joke and I will never use it again. Better off with Korea

No refund for flights they cancel

They canceled my flight and refunded only a part of the ticket price. After complaining to CAB, the airline regulator in the Philippines, they committed to refunding the remaining amount. That was 1 year ago and all communication since is pointless and lies. They keep telling me they will "escalate" and refer to the "concerned department", but nothing ever happens. A bunch of thieves, despite the owner being one of the richest people in the Philippines.

Appalling and deceptive customer "service"

Had flights Busuanga to Manila on 30-OCT and Manila to Hong Kong on 3-NOV, both booked with Philippine Airlines.Philippine Airlines cancelled my 30-OCT flight due to the typhoon, which is understandable, BUT they unilaterally rebooked it on 4-NOV even though there were earlier flights available, not only STRANDING ME FOR FIVE DAYS, but NOT EVEN THINKING about the Hong Kong CONNECTION THAT I WOULD MISS, even though it was also booked with them.As other reviews point out, their customer "service" is absolutely useless and a complete waste of time. If anything happens with your flight, and no matter whose fault is it, then you are totally and utterly screwed by Philippine Airlines, and the only thing to do is throw the ticket away and buy a new one (after reading this review, on another airline I hope).In addition to the many other customer "service" issues mentioned by other reviewers, after I insisted that I had to fly earlier, they issued me with a FAKE TICKET on a 1-NOV flight to get me off the line. When I attempted to check in, I received an obscure error message and after contacting Philippine Airlines' customer "service" again, they pretended to be sorry that the flight was in fact full and that the only option was to fly on that useless 4-NOV flight that they had chosen to put me on. This is similar to a story on palsucks.com where Philippine Airlines issued a FAKE HOTEL VOUCHER to another stranded traveler to get him out of their ticketing office.Despite Philippine Airlines' fraudulent claims of "free unlimited rebookings", the Manila to Hong Kong flight could not in fact be rebooked at all. The only connections they offered when rebooking, no matter at which date and even months into the future, were Manila to Cebu, then 8+ hour layover, then Cebu to Hong Kong - replacing a 2-hour flight with a day-long expedition. Cherry on top: those rebookings came with a 14,000+ PHP "fare difference" - they were simply trying to scam me again.I had to book a last-minute and expensive ticket on Cebu Pacific to get out of this mess.Philippine Airlines offered ZERO help to resolve any of the issues THEY created, and simply wasted my time with a litany of lies and fake excuses. They are even REFUSING TO REFUND ANYTHING and I am now filing a credit card chargeback application with my bank.The flights themselves are okay but what they pass as customer "service" is so appalling, scammy and infuriating that this airline deserves the worst possible score. Standards are already rock-bottom in the airline industry, but Philippine Airlines manages to dig deeper and turn customer service into a total clown show. DO NOT FLY PHILIPPINE AIRLINES.As others have noted, Philippine Airlines reflects badly on the country. Indeed, I cannot help but notice parallels with the widespread corruption ravaging the country and with the practices of other scammy Filipino industries such as strip clubs, prostitution bars, casinos, unlicensed overpriced airport taxis, and tourist traps. In many countries, Philippine Airlines' practices would be illegal and something must be going on for them to be able to get away with it.Hats off to international flight safety authorities and aircraft manufacturers, it must be a real pain in the neck to work with this bunch and lower their accident rate to something reasonable.

It’s the 2nd time bad experience we fly with PAL

It’s the 2nd time bad experience we fly to this Airline 3 yrs ago we went back home Calgary to Philippines, we bring same freight box and when we used it again that freight box going back to Calgary, when we’re trying to check in our box they’re are Charging us 13,000pesos, I’m so mad and insisted to talk to their manager because how come from Canada Airport we used the same box no extra payment or charges and during in the Philippines going back to Canada we need to pay. Unbelievable. So bad experience. And lately my husband go back home because my father in law died in Philippines, October 26 , 2022is his flight PR117, my husband is asking the flight stewardess asking coffee and this lazy flight attendant told her call dumaan na po yung nabibigay ng kape, humingi kayo ulit pag dumaan, pero di na dumaan ulit. Bad customer service ever that flight stewardess. During take off one of ovehead luggage open because the flight attendant didn’t double Check if it’s properly latched and one luggage bag fall into passengers head, on the way in to the airplane there are 4 line inside the bridge, nobody in Philippines airline staff fix that issue and on November 24th PR 117 Manila to Vancouver going back home same thing one of the overhead luggage open during take off and one of the passengers stood up and secure it. During meal service the middle aisle, I believe 41E and 41F the flight attendant forgot to serve food on passengers 41E & 41F the reason why, when flight attendant ask for the trays to be returned I heard the passengers said, you forgot to serve us food, that’s why we don’t have tray to return and they were diligently waiting for their food to served..one day of the flight attendant keep checking her Apple Watch while serving the passengers.all the out my round trip with PAL was horrible, mentally and emotionally.Poor customer service to flight attendant/ ground too,

DONT RUIN YOUR VACATION PLEASE!

never again to fly with this airline. folks beware! its hard to get a vacation and i already made arrangements to my destination, since i bought the ticket on a very good price before the Ukraine war, so they want you to be booked on the cheapest day on their flight plan which is 1 week after your original flight and they wont even give you an option is either accept it and lose a vacation time or cancel it then get your refund 3-6 months, which will leave you no choice but to cancel and book from another airline which will cost more money and frustration. i choose this airline because it a non stop flight but will never fly with them again.
