Now why can’t I give zero stars. ??? I am absolutely gobsmacked that this company has a 5 star review rating.

The say it is a free trial but even after you cancel - they ignore that and charge you anyway. Then - go ahead and try to find some way to get your money back. Good luck with that. They will not respond to emails and have hidden customer support chat somewhere deep inside the application. This application believes it is too “highly valued” to accept email addresses from Yahoo. They are snotty scam artists. I truly wish my experience was different. BACK AWAY FROM THIS APP. I fully expect they must be deleting anything but 5 star reviews. I do not believe my experience is unusual.

Paid for membership and immediately it wouldnt let me access the ghost mannequin section says i needed to upgrade. I paid for the Max service that includes this option. Submitted a ticket and was told issue would be resolved in a few hours. Not resolved, cant use, cant get a response. Beware.... this is another hack service that is a fraud!

A brilliant App, but here is the scam, and that what I will call it.
You sign up. You then pay yearly charge quite expensive. Once you start using (in my case a small business) I then get a message that I have used up 88% of my usage, so pay more money and keep paying.

Disgusted.

Can't Find My Cutouts Anymore!

While creating images, I can no longer locate my cutouts under the 'Insert' option. Where has that feature gone? The only way I can access my cutouts now is through the main menu under the 'Brand' option, but that doesn't help when I can't incorporate them into my images! This app had been fantastic for my needs until recently. I discovered this issue on the 23rd of last month, but I know others had been facing it even earlier, with some users reporting problems for at least a week. As of today (12/7/25), I've been waiting two weeks for a resolution. Thankfully, I'm not among those who have a paid subscription and are affected by this issue. However, it's frustrating to see that even free users, like myself, are impacted. On a positive note, other editing features seem to be functioning well. The only way this service could improve, in my opinion, is by restoring the cutout feature quickly. Additionally, I did find a temporary workaround today. For those without a functioning computer, if you have an Android or iPhone, visit app.PhotoRoom.com. On my 2021 Android, ensure the 'Desktop site' option is enabled in the top right corner menu. If successful, you'll see all your Cutouts displayed on the right side when working on your 'Designs'. Although I'm not fond of the white background of app.PhotoRoom.com, it's a minor inconvenience to regain full functionality.

Subscription limits changed after payment

I paid for a year-long subscription upfront. Midway through the year, the company altered the limits, and I lost access to features I originally paid for. Their lack of response leaves me questioning the legality of this.

Rapid decline in app quality

I've been using the app for a few months, but it quickly went from good to terrible. An update to the batch exports feature broke it for me. Attempting to use it consumes my monthly credits, but the app crashes before delivering any images. I tried to report this issue, but if you find their hidden chat feature, you're met with an AI agent that promises to connect you with customer service, which can take hours. Three days later, after daily follow-ups, they closed the chat without a response. In summary: 1. The app is broken. 2. It consumes credits without delivering results. 3. Customer service is non-existent.

Dissatisfaction with recent changes

As a Pro subscriber for over three years, I've seen the company throttle the AI image generation, pushing users towards a new plan. Initially, PRO users were promised unlimited batch exports, but now there’s a limit of 500 photos per month. This severely restricts my ability to list items. After backlash, they claimed that grandfathered users would retain unlimited background removals until their subscription expires, which feels greedy. I won't renew my subscription, as changing terms mid-plan is unethical. The quality of AI-generated images has also declined over the past year, which is disappointing since this was once a great app.

I was charged for a plan that didn't work and could only access it on one device. Despite numerous discussions, the issue remains unresolved. I wouldn't recommend this app to anyone; if you do, proceed with caution as support is lacking.

Avoid this app

Avoid this app at all costs. It fails to work properly after updates, with constant changes to the interface without real improvements. Customer service is unhelpful, making you jump through hoops and then telling you to wait hours. This app wastes time and offers no compensation for its failures. Again, do not purchase.

Frustrating subscription model

It's evident that key features have been restricted to push users towards higher payments instead of enhancing user experience. Previously, these features were integral to the app, but now they are locked behind subscription tiers, rendering it far less useful unless we spend more. This update has damaged transparency and user trust. Avoid at all costs.
