Charged an additional £3 for arriving 18 minutes early despite leaving 1 hour 20 minutes before paid

Charged an additional £3 for arriving 18 minutes early despite leaving 1 hour 20 minutes before paid booking ended.
Q Park have confirmed their system does not take into account actual usage, only rigid time slots, and refused any goodwill refund.
This is purely automated and a very inflexible approach with no common sense or customer consideration.
Very disappointed in their service and not a company I want to have an account set up with to pay for my regular parking in Glasgow anymore.

Don't go expecting to charge your EV…

Don't go expecting to charge your EV (Leeds, Sovereign Square). We all know that Q-Park is expensive, but I accept this and agree to pay what they charge. I have a relatively new EV and this was the first time I needed to charge it away from home. I arrived at the carpark at 9.30am, plugged my car in to one of the Blink charges, and left to go about my business. (I was staying overnight at a local hotel). At one point during the day I checked the Blink App and noticed the kWh was low (1.4kWh) but couldn't get back to the carpark due to commitments. When arriving back at the car park at around 5.30pm, 12.03kWh had been delivered, increasing my battery from 22% to 40%. Not enough for my needs. I unplugged and plugged into a different charger, which also showed about 1.5kWh. I then phoned Blink who said that although they supply the chargers, Q-Park manage them and set the (expensive) rate. I was told that many of the chargers in that Q-Park carpark weren't working and was advised to find a charger in a different location. I tried this but the chargers I found were in carparks owned by hotels that one couldn't access, were busy, or weren't working. Or in other Q-Park carparks - which I wasn't going to try. I eventually went back, thought I'd try again and plugged in to a third charger. Luckily, this one worked - it charged at around 7kWh. I was advised that Q-Park would charge even once the charging was complete, if the car remained plugged in. So, at around midnight, when the charge was complete, I went and unplugged the car. The whole event was fairly stressful. Do better, Q-Park.

DO USE BARCELONA!

To say I am devastated is an understatement. I collected a brand new vehicle from Land Rover in Manchester, UK on Monday and drove overnight to our Spanish residence, arriving in Barcelona on Tuesday at approximately 3pm. I am familiar with the city and aware that certain areas can be targeted for theft, however I never expected what happened next. After a long drive, we went directly to CBNA gym to quickly work out. Regrettably, we made the decision to leave our luggage from the journey in the car. We were away from the vehicle for approximately one hour and twenty minutes. Upon returning, the vehicle had been broken into and completely cleared out. All four suitcases, all electronics, and every personal item had been taken. It was a professional and calculated theft whoever carried this out clearly knew exactly what they were doing. What is particularly concerning is the lack of meaningful response from the parking attendant on duty. He stated that he heard the car alarm sounding and went over but “didn’t see anything”, which I find extremely difficult to believe given the volume and duration of a vehicle alarm in an enclosed parking structure. He called the police and handed me an email contact card, but beyond that showed very little interest or willingness to assist. After the police report was completed, he barely allowed me time within the car park and seemed largely disengaged from the seriousness of the situation affecting one of his paying customers.I appreciate the need to remain factual, however the overall lack of concern and assistance raises serious questions about the level of security and accountability within this facility. As a customer using what is marketed as a secure car park, I would have expected a far more proactive response and support in a situation of this nature. This email is not only to formally report the incident, but also to make it very clear:Do not assume this is a secure place to park. Whether you are a resident or visiting from overseas, vehicles left here particularly with luggage — are clearly vulnerable. From speaking locally and observing feedback, incidents such as this appear to occur far more frequently than one would expect in a supposedly monitored car park.I fully accept that, ultimately, we made the decision to leave our belongings in the vehicle and that lesson has now been learned the hard way. Everything taken was material and can be replaced. However, the experience itself is not something I would wish on anyone. If this message helps even one person avoid that same feeling and loss, then it serves its purpose.

Robbers

The app doesn’t work-404-error. Basics.I got there a few minutes early and was auto charged £11. Looking ahead a week and booking the same amount of extra time would have cost around £7. So I was robbed because they have my credit card data. A wholly unneccessrily painful way of treating customers.

Overcharging you - super rude support!

Pre-booked Oxford Street 08:00–14:00. I entered at 07:44 (16 minutes early) and exited at 10:20 (3+ hours before the end of my booking). Despite leaving early, I was charged an additional £11 because I entered slightly before the booked start time. What makes it worse: the email wording suggested I “stayed longer”, which is simply untrue — I arrived earlier. When I contacted support, Jamie replied in a rude, dismissive way (“charge is correct, no refund”) and didn’t provide a proper tariff breakdown or calculation. It honestly feels like they don’t value repeat customers. If you use Q-Park, be extremely careful: entering a few minutes early can cost you a lot, and support won’t help.

Misleading App Experience and Promotional Rate Not Applied

I parked at Q-Park St Stephen’s Green (26/12/2025, 17:04–21:20) and expected the after-5 PM evening rate advertised for this location. I entered after the qualifying time and used the Q-Park Go app with automatic payment enabled, following everything the system offered. However:The app never showed any tariff options or the evening rate. There was no way for me to select or confirm the promotional rate.Despite entering after the qualifying time, I was charged the standard hourly rate.Customer service confirmed the evening rate cannot be applied through the app, but this was not communicated in-app at any time. This is extremely disappointing — users expect the app to improve the experience, but instead it removes transparency and choice, resulting in higher charges with no warning. Q-Park should clearly disclose promotional restrictions in the app and allow transparent tariff selection.

Misleading Service

I pre booked for the cark park in Chinatown. The website tells you spaces are running out and to book promptly. This suggests your booking a space. When we arrived NO spaces at all. NONE. When I complained was just told I only was paying for a smoother entry. In Fact everyone who entered the car Park entered in exactly the same and when I asked them they had not paid in advance, so that was a lie. I paid for a space I didn't get when I could have Just turned up and not got a space and not Paid. AVOID this company, they do not care.
