For 2018 Audi, in February 2024, Safelite was not able to install a windshield that could be properly calibrated. They said they would order an OEM windshield. They damaged the VIN plate severely. They got paid and had me sign a waiver that my cameras would not likely work without a proper calibration. They claimed there was an appt to install the VIN plate at Audi. I showed up for the appt in August & Audi knew nothing about it. It's November now- still no VIN plate, cameras not calibrated, certain functions of the car are likely not working properly due to improper calibration. Back in February, they claimed the technician who could complete the calibration was off that day, but they would take care of it in a week or two. Now they claim to have no record of that conversation. If you try to call, you get a phone tree and are told to go to the internet. I tried to call the "technician" who called me after the failed appt at Audi. He claims he never heard of me.
I made the appointment and cleared it through my insurance company, all ok day of appointment I the technician sent message he would be here,I called him because were I live is difficult to get to. Called and talked to technical he then said Safelite didn’t come out to me and to bad and hung up , I would suggest you do more advertising, I will make it a priority of mine too let everybody know
I had a windshield changed in April, and the first time it was not sealed so when i washed the car, water came through and ruined my camera. They eventually replaced the camera but could not get it calibrated. Apparently, they do not have the capability to properly calibrate certain BMW systems. They said to take it to the dealership, and they would pay for it. That was in August of that year. At about 6 months and a couple of dozen or so calls and emails later, I finally received the reimbursement check. I found the store management very indifferent to solving the problem. It took several calls with the corporate customer service to get them to understand the situation and find a remedy.I gave three stars because the technicians were doing the best they could. The services they offer and perform are not the issue it is the management of an unfortunate occurrence that they failed to execute.
Terrible customer service. Safelite replaced my windshield and dented the plastic moulding pieces on each side of the windshield. We didn't notice the mistake initially. Even though it was after the 30 day warranty window, they still said they'd send somebody out under a warranty call. The technician while trying to fix the molding broke it even worse. He took pictures and said someone would call us back. I had to call them back and was told that the claim was denied. Again, terrible customer service. The tech who initially fixed my son's windshield didn't tell him he screwed up the plastic molding on both sides of the windshield. We didn't notice it until some time later. I called and explained to the customer service tech and she was very ubderstanding and said she'd send someone out as a warranty call. The next tech came out and broke the piece even more and when I called customer service the following Tuesday the customer service lady said the claim was denied. I told her what had happened and she said sorry you couldn't do anything. I also talked to a supervisor and she said she was the supervisor. All we want are the two plastic pieces on each side of the windshield replaced. Michael Van Sant
My windshield was replaced ten months ago. It has had "gaps" since day one and I have notified them from day one. My last attempt to rectify the situation was about six weeks ago when they said they had to order a new windshield. As of now, they refuse to respond to multiple emails sent to multiple people. It appears they have simply refused to honor their warranty, their word as a company doing business in Texas, and refuse to respond in any manner.
