Do yourself a huge favor and avoid this…

Do yourself a huge favor and avoid this company at all cost! From rude technicians to them installing a windshield with a small crack in it that you bring to their attention immediately only to have them argue with you about it when you are still on their lot and have not driven anywhere definitely a business to avoid like a plague!

They lured me in with a $173 estimate…

They lured me in with a $173 estimate to fix a small chip. Then they cracked the whole windshield across and charged me $1550 to replace it, half of which was the cost of labor to replace the window they broke. Some business eh? Never trust a car mechanic!

Damaged may hood evaluating and called me a liar!

We had Safe Lite come out to our home in East Windsor, NJ to repair a cracked windshield. They said they weren't able to repair the crack, which is fine. But in the process of looking at the windshield, their technician Tymere made a dent in the hood of a Jeep we just bought. When we noticed the dent, we immediately told him about it and he claimed it was there previously. It wasn't. We just hand washed the jeep the day before and there was no dent. We asked to talk to his supervisor (Karlton Francis) and he was also immediately dismissive saying there's no way his technician could have done it. We provided before and after pictures(since we just bought the jeep, we had pictures we just took), but they claim it wasn't obvious that it wasn't there before the work. I asked to speak to his manager and he said they would contact us back within a day. He never called us back. We followed up at least 3 times with Carlton and I finally gave him a deadline to respond or else we would file a complaint. He still never responded and Karlton even stopped responding. The thing that makes me most upset is they didn't even apologize, but instead just completely disavowed any responsibility and essentially called me a liar! They replied and said my claim was reviewed and addressed by management. It was not addressed in any way!

Not Responsible For Damage

On October 11th 2024, a technician visited my home to perform a scheduled auto windshield chip repair on my 2021 Tahoe. After attempting to repair the chip, the technician told us that the car was too hot and that he knew he shouldn’t have attempted the repair which led to a new and approximate 12” crack across the windshield. The technician apologized for the error and told us that his manager would be calling to get the windshield replaced. After waiting three days with no calls from the local Safelite office, I spent an hour on the phone e attempting to get through to schedule an appointment for replacement. I was able to get this done but was shocked to learn that the $0 repair turned in to a $670 replacement due to the technicians admitted mistake in working on the windshield in the direct heat. A garage was available for use but the technician did not use it. Another hour or more was spent speaking to various Safelite customer service agents and “local office” personnel attempting to figure out why I was responsible to cover a windshield that was damaged by the technicians admitted mistake. I spoke to local office manager “Sam” who accepted no responsibility or empathy for this error and told me it was “only $670” through my insurance with a $1000 deductible. The way this has been handled, the lack of accountability, responsibility, and concern for these actions is mind blowing. Safelite has offered no other suggestions other than “paying the cost of the replacement as they are not responsible for any damage caused by no fault of the technician”. Multiple attempts to explain the technician admitted responsibility, were met by a manager who didn’t care.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever…

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with Safelite! They caused damage to my BMW SUV during the installation and now I have to pay out of pocket to correct their mistakes. Management and the staff did not care that this happened nor did they want to rectify the problem. It’s sad because as a hard working honest person to be treated this way, I was heartbroken. Not to mention they rescheduled my appointment three times due to issues with the windshield replacement at the last minute if not the same day. Please don’t ever take your vehicle to this company! They will not honor the warranty guarantee.

first time using this location (Helena…

first time using this location (Helena Montana) can't even rate this POS location. Would give negative rating if possible. paid in full (cash) for replacement windshield, new blades, total package. vehicle didn't even leave driveway, noticed Crack in glass less than 48 hrs after replacement. They chipped the glass during installation (they dropped the wiper arm without rubber blade in exact location of the impact crack, covered it up by placing rubber blade exactly ontop crack) THEY said it wasn't their fault. called installer and told they would speak with manager have call us. Waited. Then called national customer service. never had this problem with other locations in Washington, Idaho or Utah they always stand behind their work. Then they indicated have windshield in stock will replace but gonna cost you. I even asked them to check the odometer which would show no miles since they replaced . I will be telling all family and friends to stay away from this location And possibly any other safelite locations as well. My fleet of 12 vehicles will now be going to other glass shop for all our glass needs. Go to local glass company not called safelite. Very very very poor materials, workmanship and customer service.

Awful company! Do not do business with them

review is waiting approval by the ConsumerAffairs moderation team.Review historySubmitted11/29/2024PublishedwaitingPublicpublished review 11/29/24I had Safelight replace my windshield on September 9, 2024. The tech damaged my wiper arm covers. When I pointed this out to him, he said he would make his manager aware and to be expecting a call within 2 weeks. No suck luck! In the meantime I paid for service in full on my Amex card. The techs name is Joshua and the Location is 4523 Cleveland Blvd in Caldwell Idaho.I called Safelight and they said that they would get a hold of the manager at the location and to be expecting a call. Gave it another week and no call. I called again and customer service assured me that they could handle the situation and they made an appointment to have new wiper arm covers installed. I waited 2 weeks for the appointment. The morning of.tje appointment a different installer called and said he was ready to come and install my new windshield? I.told him it wasnt a windshield I needed bit it was new wiper arm covers that the order should have been for. We'll he had no idea what I was talking about...but assured me he would get to the bottom of the issue. Another 10 days want by and NOTHING! I called multiple times and couldn't get anyone on the phone at the location. I called customer service again and they pat he'd me in to the location which I was able to talk to Joshua the original installer. He said hw would personally order 2 new wiper arm covers and come and install them. He let me know a week later that 2 new covers had arrived. I couldn't leave work early to have him do the install but I assured him I could do that and would he please leave new parts on my porch. Well! I got home to a one Used wiper arm cover sitting on top of my ring doorbell. NOPE NOT GOING TO BE GOOD ENOUGH! I called and left him a message and never heard back. Then I left a scathing yelp review and when they responded. I asked them to call me at which I left my number. No call and they has been over a month ago. So I called Amex and they suspended the charge for me!!! This is beyond absurd! Now I have received a letter from Safelight saying that the charges were disputed without cause. REALLY??? I have called the 18008352092 twide now to talk about my situation. The recording telling me to call back during normal business hours and I was calling during their eastern standard hoursThis company is beyond shady!

If I could have out no stars I would…

If I could have put no stars I would have. I have a 2021 Volvo suv and I called the week before asking If I’d get the same Volvo windshield they told me yes the exact same. So I when I went on a long weekend and on a Saturday I walked in and ask the guy and he said no we don’t do that. I explained how the woman told me and he said no I had gotten a ride so I had to get it done. After I got home my insurance stated yes you have the right to get a Volvo windshield it might be more out of pocket but they should have explained that to me. I contacted Safelite and they contacted me. A k but then never followed up after I got the ceo and others emails. Then someone told me no worries the Nashua office will contact you and it will be 400 more for the Volvo one. After being lied to and blown off by the big wigs I didn’t care. Well guess what nobody called me from the Nashua store and then when I followed up they told me it would be 1200 dollars. This company is horrible I will never use it again. They allow people to lie to their customers and don’t even give out the correct information what a shit show I have told all my friends and family and I would not recommend them at all.
