Review Time
Good Evening,I am writing to applaud the professionalism of Joshua who works out of the AC SKINNER location here in Jacksonville, FL. He came out on Sat, 1/4/25 and was on time, articulate, extremely professional with a great attitude, and positive energy! He explained the process with confidence and went to work. After finishing, the recalibration wasn't completed on that day due to some issues, but he came back Monday, 1/6 on his day off and finished up. He is a very valuable asset to your company, and as you know, it's about the "quality" of people, not the "quantity" of people that makes a great Company.
Gary has no time to knock on the door and leaves incorrect arrival times via text. My only day off is going to be spent wondering whether Gary is coming back if Robert or the mad female will return my call. Never going through this again. They can’t knock on your door for fear of being robbed. How do they go to the bathroom, eat or anything . I know the thousands of dollars in tools is not going to eat at lunch or in the bathroom. Not knocking on my door 5 feet from the driveway is laziness. Leaving incorrect eta time and not returning my calls is unprofessional.
Had an appointment set for 1/4/25 at 8 am and received a call from them stating that the glass they ordered came in broken so they needed to reschedule. When I called them back, the person must have forgotten what he said in his message because he told me that the tech that was supposed to come out had an emergency. 2 years ago they did the exact same thing to me and gave the exact same excuse. When I asked for corporate number, they gave me the call center number.
After receiving several emails and text messages saying to bring my car to the designated appointment, when I arrived the person in charge told me they "forgot" to order the glass!Non-existent customer service!! Never use Safelite!!!!!
Service was done in Cromwell Ct. After various confusion with locations and times I spent 3 hours of driving. That said, when I got to Cromwell met 3 of the nicest and most efficient employees. They were Jacelyn, Derek and Cyntha. They were so helpful and a definite reason to use that location again. They are truly a great example for your company. I left 100% satisfied.
This place is a joke when it comes to workmanship. I dropped off my car at 10:30am and was texted that it was complete 3 hours later. When I get to the shop, I walk over to my car and immediately notice that the trim on the passenger side bottom corner was popped out and water would simply run underneath if left as is. I went inside and told the very nice receptionist that there was a problem. The other receptionist named Jasmin heard the interaction and rudely asked “what’s the problem?”. At that point I simply asked if she could go look at the defective installation. Jasmin gets up looking frustrated and not saying a word. I walk to the car and point out the defect. She goes on to try and push the trim into place but it was not about to do so the way it was pinched. The more she tried I could tell the plastic was going to get permanently warped so I said “ma’am, stop or you’re going to make it worse”. She stopped and asked for me to have a seat in the waiting room. The car is taken in the bay and 10 mins later it is ready. I could tell they used some tool to leverage it in place but the seal from one side of the shield to the other did not look right. Frustrated, I took the car and drove across the freeway to the toyota dealership. I walked to the camry’s on the lot and inspected 3 different car windshields. My car did not look sealed like any of them. A car salesman came over and asked if he could help. I told him the situation and he directed me to a service advisor. The service advisor promptly notified me that the all around seal was incorrect and pointed a major discrepancy on the top part of the windshield which I had not noticed because my focus was on the bottom trim. I thanked the advisor and drove back to Safelite.I parked and Jasmin was outside inspecting another vehicle. She looked at me and kept doing what she was doing so I walked over and stood about 10’ from her until she finished. She knew I was there but would not acknowledge me. When she finished, she turned to walk away so I asked her “ma’am, are you the manager or can I speak to a manager”. She looks at me and rudely said “the manager is on vacation, what is it now?”. At that point I was not about to take any more of her condescending attitude so I raised my voice and told her that my insurance was just charged $900 for shitty work that needs to be corrected. I asked why there was no quality control in effect. I told her they took the car back in and should’ve looked at the entire seal but apparently an amateur technician worked on my car and needed to be corrected. She proceeds to do her own inspection and tells me to go to the counter. She never spoke with a technician so I knew the situation was not about to be resolved. Sure enough, she tells me I was going to have to schedule an appointment because the windshield would need to be completely removed to re-do the seal and trim. Frustrated, I asked why couldn’t they simply do it then since there were still a few hours til closing. She mentioned that the glue was still wet plus they were busy the rest of the day. I explained that if not fixed that day a review would be done on the poor workmanship and lack of care on her part to make things right. She looked at me and I could tell a million things were going through her mind but she simply looked at the screen to book my appointment. When she told me the first opening was a week later I asked for her card at which point she handed me the managers card. I asked what her name was because I needed to mention her in the review. She smirked and mentioned it was Jasmin. I took the card, wrote her name on it, said thank you and walked away. I had option to take elsewhere but the insurance claims person mentioned things would go more smoothly if Safelite did it. With this experience, I’m not sure if it’s this location (Corpus Christi) that lacks quality control or good workmanship but proceed with caution and thoroughly inspect the work prior to leaving.
POOR CUSTOMER CARESafelite - Clinton Township MI (James D. Store Manager) was unresponsive to 3 emails, and finally took my call due to our insurance company setting up a 3-way. The store manager did not hear my problem, due to damage of the latch-actuator from residual broken glass as would qualify this as poor workmanship. Our hatch / latch cavity should have been 100% clear/clean from broken glass as this clean-up was attempted by your Tech, but did not remove all broken glass with the tools on-site. Doing a complete job, would not have led to broken glass clogging the actuator, thus causing the unit to fail and an out of pocket expense of $900.00
I had a crack on the road. I scheduled a replacement through my insurance. Safelite showed up, did the replacement. Less than a month, I had the same thing occurred and I had to schedule another replacement now through Safelite. They did the replacement with dirt all over my dashboard and stain on the side panel supporting the glass. I had to clean it myself but I can't remove the stain. I had a small impact size of a grain of sand while checking my wipers, the 4th day of the replacement and I thought that it is not a big of a deal, but it quickly extended that I question the quality of the glass. I did a warranty check up appointment, the tech guy came and said that I have to pay for a whole new glass for them to replace it again. The only thing, I received are "Sorry, ...." from the tech guy and customer service. Please read this and do your research well before working with them. I made that mistake.
They're swindling me out of $$$I bought a Safelite repair service for my passenger window, which some thief smashed. They came to my house and promptly repaired it, but charged a whopping $490 after tax. I paid an extra $50 for their rain repel, which they didn't do. I also used a $50 coupon I found online. They wrote my $50 coupon off my receipt - swindling me out of $50. Those dirty cheats. Don't trust these people. I could have gone to a shop in town to get this done for $180 instead. Next time, I will. AVOID.
The young man who came out to my house and installed my windshield was great!!! But the person who came out to put a replacement part on my wipers stole some solar panels from my garage! There is no doubt. Someone was coming by to install security camera solar panels the same day. I had the panels handy. They came to install the panels...they were gone! In hindsight I realized all the small talk was a distraction so I wouldn't look in that direction!!!
